Who Are The Racists?

Posted by Larry Miller on July 13, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

lincolnThis may not be a fashionable post, but there are things that must be said, that few are saying. The NAACP, feeling the heat as the tea partiers are waking up our country to the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of government programs in solving the problems, not only of the black community, but all Americans struggling to make it in the world.

Showing the exclusively race based tunnel vision, the organization set their sites on repudiating “the racism of the Tea Parties”. The leadership of this formerly useful institution, in pushing the same disastrous programs that all but destroyed the black families, had to resort to playing the race card and engaging in character assassination. Generally this is the last play of one who is unable to refute logical arguments.

We know that the government intervention has never, and will never, lift people out of poverty. Abraham Lincoln said, “You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich, you cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong, you cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down, you cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.” Yet, holding out the promise of benefits paid for by someone else is what placed these leaders in their exalted positions and what they expect to keep them in power. Therefore, the tea parties who recognize the failure of the NAACP’s traditional approach and had the audacity to point it out… much like the child who noticed the emperor had no clothes, have to go. Philistine in Washington

Posted by Larry Miller on July 11, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

Don’t you get tired of people pussyfooting around about the nonsense taking place in Washington and around our country? Many speak of their “concern” about freedom destroying trends in hushed tones. Words that come from pastors like Rev. Swaggart are said to be inflammatory and not very helpful in our multi-cultural, diversity worshiping world. These people don’t want to rock the boat or are afraid to be seen as extremists. They are afraid of what others will think. They wring their hands and wonder, “what can we do?” All this, just like the Jews in Germany during the 1930s.

Compartmentalized Christians who split their lives between Sunday morning, and their own time, won’t like or even comprehend what the preacher in the video was saying. Those who understand that life cannot be split into segments with conflicting loyalties know exactly what Brother Swaggart is talking about. Those without even a claim to the Christian faith will see him as foolish, ridiculous and even dangerous. However without this understanding and passion, our efforts will turn out to be half hearted and futile. Read more of this article »

Masculine Leadership Needed Now More Than Ever

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on June 21, 2010 under Why | Be the First to Comment

fatherhoodAs we approach Father’s Day this Sunday, I think it is necessary to once again draw attention to what has become one of America’s greatest problems: the dearth of masculine leadership in the home.

As everyone universally acknowledges, there are more children being raised by single mothers today than at any time in our nation’s history. Obviously, divorce is far and away the biggest contributor to this unfortunate phenomenon. But another factor is that many women are choosing to have children out of wedlock. And, of course, a small percentage of single mothers became this way due to the premature deaths of their husbands. But it is safe to say that the vast majority of fatherless families are the result of choice, not circumstance.

The ramifications of raising children without a father are taking a toll, not only on children, but also on society itself. According to published reports, 63% of teen suicides come from fatherless homes, 90% of all runaways and homeless children come from fatherless homes, 80% of rapists come from fatherless homes, 85% of children with behavioral problems come from fatherless homes, 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes, 75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes, and 85% of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes. See the following sources for these (and related) stats: Read more of this article »

World Cup Time!

Posted by Larry Miller on June 13, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

The Stanley Cup Finals are over and World Cup soccer time is upon us. I suppose we need the break from the drama and excitement of men flashing across the ice and bashing each other into dasher boards to get the little puck in the net. The World Cup time is an ideal time to relax, have a cook out with the family, go to the beach, or even read a good book. According to a recent Zogby poll, only 31% of the American men and 17% of the American women are planning to watch any part of the matches. Observing the hype on TV, one would think this is a major event for the people of the United States.

Numbers for the under 30 crowd are somewhat higher than this average, reflecting the globalist thinking foisted up the students in the public schools and academia. Yet even in this group, there is enough realism the prevent them from believing that soccer will become a major sport, ranked with football, baseball, basketball and hockey, in the US. It is notable that auto racing was not included in the question, even though it outdraws the other sports leaders.

The traditional sports tend to be American generations, including hockey where the primary development came from our neighbor in the frozen north. Our sporting preferences show what our “betters” would describe as a negative North American-centric mind set that blinds us to virtue in other parts of the world. It is the ugly face of American exceptionalism that the left and academia (but I repeat myself) have been fighting for decades. Read more of this article »

The On-Going Conflict

Posted by Larry Miller on May 31, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

israeli flagThis weekend news broke about a skirmish between Israeli commandos and a supposedly unarmed ship carrying humanitarian supplies to the Gaza strip. There are conflicting reports, but the one that gets the most play in the formerly mainstream media is that the ship was attacked for no reason and those killed were simply well meaning, innocents trying to deliver supplies to the poor downtrodden people of Gaza.

This fits the media template that Israel is just a bully pushing around anyone they jolly well please, completely disregarding the numerous times rockets have been smuggled into the area, later to fall into populated areas of the country. A look at a map, which is something most are unwilling to do, will show a country surrounded people who hate  the Jews and their state more than they love their own children. Many consider it their holy duty to eradicate this country from the face of the earth.

Unfortunately there are those in our own country that feel the same way. Many in the current administration see the existence of Israel as the primary obstacle to peace in the middle east. Most Christians have a grasp of our spiritual kinship to the Jewish people and special place these people and their land have in God’s economy. Others have, to their detriment, rejected the reliability of the scriptures and have substituted the humanistic thinking propagated by academia, the media and our own government. Many of the mainline denominations… the ones losing members year after year, are the primary culprits here, but they are not alone. Some, who call themselves evangelical, want to spiritualize much of prophecy, in addition to adding the thinking that since Israel rejected His Messiah, God has forever rejected the Jewish people. Census Is For Counting Not Prying

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on March 24, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

constitutionThe constitutional requirement for the Census is found in Article. I. Section. 2. Paragraph. 3. “The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.”

The purpose of the Census is that of counting the US population in order to apportion among the states the number of representatives in the US House of Representatives. That’s it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

There is nothing in the Constitution requiring or even suggesting questions regarding race, ethnicity, whether one owns or rents his or her home, income status, disability status, education, or anything of the sort. The only purpose of the Census is to count the US population.  Anything beyond that is nothing more than an intrusive government prying and snooping into our lives: something the federal government is doing with greater and greater frequency and intensity these days. Censorship – A Disservice To Our Service Men and Our Country

Posted by Larry Miller on February 26, 2010 under Why | Be the First to Comment

frcTony Perkins of the Family Research Council exercised his and his organizations First Amendment right when he spoke out about the replacement of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military policy with a positive acceptance of openly homosexual members. He wrote about the long documented problems this type of policy caused in the past and will cause in the future. Mr. Perkins understands that soldiers don’t like taking showers with guys that like taking showers with soldiers.

Sometime back, he was invited to give a devotional at a National Prayer Luncheon held at Andrews Air Force Base, just outside the liberal bastion of beltway thinking. However, somewhere along the line, commanders, ever mindful of their promotional opportunities and their relationship to their civilian leaders, decided that it would be best if Tony Perkins not spread his common sense ideas among the men in their charge.

Perkins was told that he and his group were “incompatible in our role as military members who serve our elected officials and our commander in chief.” Some would call it censorship if messengers are denied access based on their message. It is clear that only one message on this topic is permitted in the military and and our government in general. Read more of this article »

Media Bias

Posted by Jim Mullen on February 15, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

olbermanIt is in the best interest of tyrannical government to have a disreputable news media. The mainstream news media have become more scandalous and less believable than government.

Beginning with an agenda – usually far-left – they filter, formulate and frame world events to promote their agendas. Learning well from Hollywood, these purveyors of persuasion use the camera lens and mighty pen to create illusions designed to indoctrinate and ignite passions.

Add in a barrage of brilliant marketing techniques that would make Madison Avenue ad men envious and what we have is mainstream media news.

Rather than shining a light into the dark corners of government, they prefer to direct the spotlight on themselves or their cause. Journalists from main-stream news networks and newspapers – many suffering from “power envy” – use rumors, innuendos, opinions and the infamous “anonymous sources” to present their distorted version of the truth. Not Your Father’s Army

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on February 8, 2010 under Why | Read the First Comment

un_blue_helmetsMost of us Americans have a deep and abiding respect and admiration for our country’s fighting men who have served–and are serving–within the US Armed Forces. We appreciate their willingness to put themselves in harm’s way for the preservation of our nation’s liberty and independence. We honor their sacrifice. Indeed, many of us share that sacrifice with the deaths, dismemberments, and paralysis of our most cherished loved ones who were killed or injured in the line of duty.

It is time, however, that we awaken to the reality of what our military is becoming and where it is heading. Suffice it to say, this is not your father’s army.

On December 8, 1941, my father, Ed Baldwin–along with his two brothers, Bud and Gene–marched down to a recruiting office in Little Rock, Arkansas, to enlist. The Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor the day before, and no branch of service had to beg people to enlist that day. Bud joined the Navy. Gene joined the Marines. When government officials saw Dad’s resumé, they selected him to help construct the atomic bomb. All three brothers served their country with distinction throughout the war. The Progressives Bump Into Science Again

Posted by Larry Miller on February 2, 2010 under Why | Be the First to Comment

teenpregnancyNot long after we saw the downfall of the pseudoscience of global warming, we are beginning to see cracks in the battle against abstinence only education. The Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine recently published a detailed study showing that the methodology so despised by the the progressive elites and academic aristocracy to actually have the effectiveness they long denied. There is no joy in Mudville… or at UC Berkley.

The specifics of the study are not as important as the fact that academic rejection of the results was as predictable as Barack Hussein Obama’s use of duel teleprompters. Instead of hailing the study as something promising in the battle against teen pregnancy and STDs, the reaction showed the kneejerk reaction of the entrenched secularists as they sought to discredit both the study and its conclusions. We have seen this behavior before… many times.

Instead of using science as the path the truth, it is being used like a drunk clinging to a lamp post… more for support than illumination. This is the very same intellectual dishonesty they continually accuse those who are foolish enough to actually believe the principles of the Bible. We should be used to this by now… science eventually confirming the words of the same creator that endowed us with unalienable rights. Read more of this article »

Wilberforce: Proof That Incrementalism Works?

Posted by Bob Kyfffin on December 21, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

William WilberforceWilliam Wilberforce is a hero in the eyes of most of us in the pro-life movement. He’s an inspiration to all of us.

However, his work against slavery in Britain is often cited (by incrementalists) as proof that “incrementalism works.” This claim not only mistakes the lesson we should take from his astonishing life, but also denigrates the true values that he held dear – those based upon a conviction in the God-given Rights to Life and Freedom.

The growing Personhood Wing of the pro-life movement holds that “any law which says ‘do this, and then you can kill the baby (or own the slave)’” is an evil regulation Christians should never support. Did Wilberforce support such laws during his nearly half-century of crusading? Yes. Have many sincere pro-lifers done so, even those who now support Personhood? Yes. The problem is not the person – it’s the naïve, emotional position they hold for a time.

Most supporters of Personhood once supported laws such as the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, or waiting periods. Some didn’t, but they are few. The intellectual path from incrementalism to abolitionism is a long, hard one. We can’t condemn someone for not “getting the concept” right away. All we can do is ask them to consider, and to learn. A Voice of Sanity

A Voice of Sanity

The last few days articles have brought more hate mail than usual from panic stricken “warmers” who are scared silly that we’ll be successful in stopping the rush to fix our supposedly overheated planet and we will all drown as polar ice caps melt and oceans overwhelm the land. These fragile souls have been conditioned by our educational establishment, formerly mainstream media and our government to believe all sorts of doomsday predictions… often to the point of irrationality.

They have heard Algore. Barack Hussein Obama and a host of other people with high positions, but little schooling in climatology, tell us that the science is settled… that arguments are over and the decision has been made: we are on the eve of destruction. The unfortunate thing about this is that most everyone promoting the man-made global warming theory has some sort of financial or political stake in the issue. There is no question about how former Vice President and erstwhile internet inventor Algore is enriching himself by perpetrating this fraud. Companies standing by with their hands out for government money all have a vested interest in reinforcing our belief, as do the refugees from the 60’s who are now tenured professors living on generous climate change study grants.

Dr. Michaels is a respected professor at the University of Virginia, climatologist at the CATO Institute and member of the UN’s IPCC. He has actually seen the data, and knows how to interpret it. We would do well to take his evaluation more seriously than amateur weather buffs who have no idea what is behind the computer models that have initiated and fueled this panic. Dr. Michaels is also one that the Climategate emails suggested that someone would like to do bodily harm because of his honesty. Now is the time for each of us to keep our head about us and use them for more than a hat rack as my grand parents used to say.

Mall of Shame

nativityUnless you’ve been living under a rock, you are well aware that we are full swing into the Christmas shopping season. This is the season that puts dollars in the pockets of online as well as brick and mortar stores. This is the season that determines the success or failure of most retail establishments. This is the time of year when many people find seasonal employment to help themselves and their families through the expensive holiday season. Yet… many of these who not only benefit, but survive based on the results of their efforts this time of year make a concerted effort to disregard the real reason we celebrate this time of year.

Schools have long since fallen into the politically corrupt mindset of calling the Christmas Holiday the Winter Break. They are so afraid of offending a few Christ deniers that they disregard the majority who actually understand why we celebrate the Christmas holiday.

In a recent non-scientific study by John Stossel, recently of the state run media, currently with FoxNews found that some stores are more Christmas friendly than others. In some ways their approach to the holiday season reflected their perceived or desired market… something we may want to consider when passing out our gift-giving dollars. Read more of this article »

The Truth Comes Out

Posted by Larry Miller on December 4, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

It’s amazing how all the hype about man made climate change came crashing down a few days ago when hundreds a emails sent amongst the global warming elite were made public showing the entire premise of the movement was built on fabricated (they called it enhanced) data. Even John Stewart, hardly a conservative icon, noted the irony that word spread of Algore’s crumbling message on the internet he tells us he invented. Michael Savage said those who made these messages public were doing God’s work. It could be true as I believe He has a sense of humor when it comes to the foolishness of men (and women… not to neglect the other half of the population).

Algore at least had the common sense to keep a low profile and cancel his appearance at the upcoming Copenhagen conference. Barack Hussein Obama has not, up to this point. He is still committed to imposing all sorts of controls and regulations on the free American people to bring us into compliance with the wishes of UN bureaucrats, of all people. Apparently he believes his silver tongued teleprompter reading will be sufficient to sway those of us with common sense as it did the unwashed masses during his presidential campaign. Good Grief, Charlie Brown!

Posted by Elmer on December 1, 2009 under Why | 2 Comments to Read

charliebrownIt’s sad, but the Barack Hussein Obama has decided to take his West Point photo op at a time when children all across the country would be sitting down to watch Charlie Brown and his friend celebrate Christmas.  We sould have realized the unrestrained ego of this man  when gave the Queen of Great Britain an iPod filled with his speeches.  In any case, maybe it’s time to run out and rent the video to keep the young minds from being poluted the words that scroll by on the official teleprompter.

This is just one more time when our narcissitic “leader” presses forward with no consideration for the consequences.  For myself, perhaps I will just sit down with an OnDemand movie.  At least the movie is labled as a fantasy… but then, we know the speech is as well.  Unfortunately, some of our gallant soldiers are going to pay a much higher price for this fantasy than “Commander in Chief”.

Questions Regarding The Fort Hood Massacre

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on November 23, 2009 under Why | 3 Comments to Read

soldierprayBy now, virtually everyone has read and reread the copious news accounts of the terrible shooting a few weeks ago at Fort Hood, Texas. This column will not attempt to add new details to what is already a highly scrutinized tragedy. However, I do want to pose three basic questions that, to me, are extremely glaring and, for the most part, absent from the discussion.

Question 1: Why were the soldiers not armed?

After all, this is a military base; more than that, it is an Army base that emphasizes the training and equipping of frontline, combat-ready soldiers. For the most part, these were not clerks or cooks; these were combat troops. Fort Hood is home to the 1st Cavalry Division (the largest Division in the Army). Troops stationed at Fort Hood have engaged the enemy in virtually every hot theater of war to which American forces have been deployed. In recent conflicts that means Somalia, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Without a doubt, these are among America’s bravest and best.

So, how is it that these intensely trained, disciplined, rugged, highly qualified warriors are not allowed to carry their own weapons on base? This makes about as much sense as the policy forbidding airline pilots from carrying their own handguns on board commercial airliners, or teachers not being allowed to carry their own handguns in the classroom. After all, judges are granted the authority to carry their own firearms into the courtroom. If we can trust lawyers, we should be able to trust soldiers, airline pilots, and teachers. Sharia Law Is Misunderstood

Posted by Laura Alcorn on November 16, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

AfghanBurkaDid you realize that “The majority of women around the world associate justice for women, with Sharia compliance”? That’s right, according to Dalia Mogahed, President Obama’s, Islamist appointee on the Advisory Council on Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, made this astonishing statement in an interview on a British television show. Mogahed has made news before as a member of the U.S. Muslim Engagement Project, which called for “engagement” with the Muslim Brotherhood — the organization that has a 100 year plan for subverting and overthrowing the West. She teamed up with John Esposito to conduct a poll on Islam, then misrepresented some of the results (some called it “cooking the books”) in order to increase the number of Muslim “moderates.”

What makes Mogahed’s assertion about Shariah even more disturbing is that she made it in an interview hosted by a member of the radical Islamist organization Hizb ut Tahrir on the British Muslim show “Muslimah Dilemma”. HT is committed to the non-violent overthrow of democracy and capitalism and the worldwide imposition under Sharia Islamic law. The organization has been banned as a terrorist organization in several countries — but remarkably, not here in the United States. Miss Mogahed appeared alongside Hizb ut Tahrir’s (HT) national women’s officer, Nazreen Nawaz. During the discussion, on the Islam Channel programme Muslimah Dilemma, the two members of the group made repeated attacks on secular “man-made law” and the West’s “lethal cocktail of liberty and capitalism”. More Thoughts On Political Correctness

Posted by Larry Miller on November 14, 2009 under How | 2 Comments to Read

I had the fortune of hearing Brigitte Gabriel a few years ago and was struck by the clarity of her message. Political correctness is, on one hand, a method of controlling the expressed thoughts and actions of the masses through social and, sometimes, legal, pressures. On the other hand, it attempts to clear the way for the one message our “betters” want us to hear and act on. It comes from the halls of academia which is supposed to be the bastion of free thought and expression. However, in practice, thought is only free if it stays within the confines of the leader’s wishes. Other expression is deemed anti-social and must be restricted for the smooth functioning of the progressive agenda at work in most universities, media outlets and government agencies. No Decision Is A Decision

Posted by Larry Miller on November 12, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

Obama-Clinton.jpgBarack Hussein Obama appears to be having a difficult time deciding if he will take the word of his man on the scene, General Stanley McCrystal who requested 40,000 more soldiers in the field to the job done. He also has the anti-American left that put him in office to please. They just want us to waive the white flag, apologize for being Americans and slink on home. It’s also possible that each of his advisors has their own little variation on the best way to accomplish whatever they would like to see happen in Afghanistan.

While we could argue about our justification for being in the God-forsaken land, but, while it may make us feel good, that ship has sailed. This involvement is quite a picklement for the man who may sincerely be trying to balance his duties as Commander in Chief with his own feelings about the country and those of his most vocal supporters. He gives the appearance of sincerely looking for input and weighing the virtues of each suggestion.

This past weekend, rumors were flying about that he would take partial measures to meet the field commanders requests. Thirty thousand they said, would be on their way… as soon as they could be prepared. This turned out to be false hope for the troops holding things together. Who knows, it may have been a trial balloon to test his supporters reaction to the news.

It may have been a call from George Soros, his pals at the Daily Kos, Huffington Post, MoveOn.org or any of his supporters, any of whom would put in a good word to weaken our military and our country. It’s hard to say why this story got started, then shot down, but the fact remains… no decision was made… or did he decide on a plan? Read more of this article »

Political Correctness Kills

Posted by Larry Miller on November 8, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

No_Political_Correctness.svgThe sad case of Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan is just the latest evidence that our culture of political correctness is not only destroying our freedom of speech, but it can have deadly results. The push for politically correctness is actually an effort by those who see themselves as elites to tell us poor unfortunate and uneducated commoners that there are some things were are not allowed to say and ideas we are not allowed to discuss… unless it is how awful our country is.

Some courts have even upheld this unconstitutional and anti-American mindset when they have placed hurt feelings above the rights we have been given by our creator. Our constitution says we have the right to express our thoughts and feelings. It does not guarantee that we will never be offended. Yet… some have used this pernicious concept which emanated from the bowels of academia which was once the bastion of free thought and inquiry to stifle free thought and inquiry. However, in this era of specialization, we have teachers teaching and professors professing that have spent their whole lives behind ivy covered walls, having successfully avoided real world participation. They have given us the benefit of the output of their great minds that are unencumbered by the reality the rest of us live in.

In the case of Major Hasan, we see that politically correct thinking most likely is running amok, even in our fine military. Reports are that he was inflicting his anti-war and anti-American views on recovering service men. We are also told that he was angrily spreading the word that our country was at war with his Islamic faith… and that those that take part deserve death. We are told that he gave away his possessions in his apartment prior to this attack… as if he were not coming back. And, lastly, we are told that he shouted praises to Allah before beginning his attack. Yet, the Commander in Chief is not interested in having investigators pursue the possibility that his extreme religious views led to his horrible actions. Read more of this article »

The Thought Police Are On Their Way

Posted by Larry Miller on October 29, 2009 under How | 2 Comments to Read

police_state.trooperBarack Hussein Obama signed the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act as congress took upon itself the task of attempting to negate teachings such as I Corinthians 6:9 that says “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders” and Leviticus 18:22 that says “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.” In creating special protections for these practices those they are also disregarding Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.”

Setting aside the ultimate consequences for the people involved, this is a clear violation of the First Amendment which says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” We have reassurances from Attorney General Eric Holder who said, “It is the person who commits the actual act of violence, who would be subject to this legislation, not the person who is simply expressing an opinion,”

I would imagine that these claims of innocent intent would rank right up their with promises that gun registration would not lead to weapon confiscation. These assurances things may be entirely sincere, but our government in general and the majority party in particular do not have a stellar record in this regard. One has to remember the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me seventy times seven… shame on me.” We will forgive them, but our experience has imprinted on our psyches that we have been lied to so often in the past. We must remember that they would not tell us these things if they didn’t want us to believe them. Some things are just too important to leave to chance or to people with spotty reliability records. These Are Not Negotiable

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on October 20, 2009 under How, Why | Be the First to Comment

rejectIn the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies.”

I would argue that we, like our patriot forebears, have also endured “patient sufferance.” For at least a half-century, we have patiently endured the erosion and abridgment of our freedoms and liberties.  We have watched the federal government become an overbearing and meddlesome Nanny State that pokes its nose and sticks its fingers in virtually everything we do. We cannot drive a car, buy a gun, or even flush a toilet without Big Brother’s permission. We are taxed, regulated, and snooped-on from the time we are born to the day we die. And then after we are dead, we are taxed again.

In the same way that Jefferson and Company patiently suffered up until that shot was fired that was heard around the world, we who love freedom today are likewise patiently suffering “a long train of abuses and usurpations.” In fact, I would even dare say that these States United have become a boiling caldron of justifiable frustration and even anger.

Accordingly, it is incumbent upon us to very seriously and thoughtfully examine those principles that we absolutely will never cede or surrender. We have already surrendered much of the freedom that was bequeathed to us by our forefathers. We are now to the point that we must define those principles that form our “line in the sand” and that we will not surrender under any circumstance. Either that, or we must admit to ourselves that there is nothing–no principle, no freedom, no matter how sacred–that we will not surrender to Big Government. Read more of this article »

Prejudice In The NFL

Posted by Larry Miller on October 15, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

In what has been called a “high tech lynching”, Rush Limbaugh has been forced out of a group attempting to buy the St. Louis Rams. The man, who is the epitome of the American success story, finds himself being lied about and labeled by members of the media who he has roundly criticized for being lapdogs of the Obama administration, as they prove they have no interest in fact-checking when the victim is one the feel “deserves it”.

He has been quoted, by some media outlets, as saying slavery had its merits, that at least the streets were safe at night. However, when pressed for documentation of the supposed outrage, they became strangely silent. Then they fall back on his comments about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb, who he said was overrated because the media were interested in promoting the success of a black man in the position. Hmmmm, sounds like comments about Barack Hussein Obama.

As a Eagles fan from back in the days when Pete Retzlaff played tight end, and one who enjoys watching McNabb, Westbrook and company pick NFL defenses apart, I have to respectfully disagree with this assessment. However, we are, up to this time, a free country where people are permitted to have their opinions… even if they love the Steelers as Mr. Limbaugh does. There is no accounting for some peoples taste. Hang On To Your Kids!

Posted by Larry Miller on October 1, 2009 under Why | 2 Comments to Read

Roman-PolanskiA couple of recent news stories show us that we are seeing less of a concern for the welfare of children today than when we had people in Washington more in tune with traditional American values. One is official policy and one is just an indication of the degradation public values. Does this reflect what average Americans are thinking, or just what the elites who have wormed their way into positions of power and influence want us to believe?

The first story was all over the news a few days ago. Sharon Tate’s husband and film director Roman Polanski was finally taken into custody some thirty years after drugging and raping a thirteen year old girl at the home of Jack Nicholson, then fleeing the country. The amoral (or immoral – take your pick) Hollywood crowd has been quite vocal in their outrage at this attempt to bring him to justice. They say it’s been so long… just let the guy alone. It’s as if the passage of time made the crime less heinous and the concept of sheltering children from older, more experienced predators less important.

Many believe he should spend the rest his life behind bars… but his peers don’t see it that way. He is famous, rich and has a lot powerful friends. Therefore the rules that would govern Joe the Plumber don’t apply to people of his quality. We have seen this with the treatment of Ted Kennedy after the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, O.J. Simpson and so many others. It’s as if, when you attain a certain status, people recognize you have too much to loose and they are not willing to take it from you. Brad Paisley nails this thinking in his “Celebrity” video. (http://bizy.be/ZTLkM) Never mind the shattered life of a young girl who cried herself to sleep at night.

jenningsThen, the story that’s been ignored by the state media – that of the appointment of Kevin Jennings as the “safe schools czar” – officially the director of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools . The man is an open homosexual blatantly advocating a pro-homosexual agenda in the past and proclaiming his intention to continue in his new position. Even setting aside his personal practices, his past actions as a school teacher should disqualify him from the job. He still tells the story of a fifteen year old student who revealed to him that he was meeting older men in restrooms for sex… AND HE DID NOTHING! Read more of this article »

Hate America? Count Me Out!

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on September 21, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

shameonusOn this 8th anniversary of the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, it behooves me to comment on the spirit of hatred that seems to motivate many people in and out of our great land. That the supporters and disciples of Vladimir Lenin, Karl Marx, Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, Mao Tse-tung, and Adolf Hitler would hate America is understandable. Communism, socialism, and fascism are diametrically opposed to everything the United States was founded upon. Therefore, it is not surprising that people who espouse the tenets of these “isms” would exude hatred for America–at least for the America of our forebears. What is most disconcerting, however, is the number of people within our country (and I don’t mean illegal aliens) who harbor hatred in their hearts for our beloved land.

To be sure, one can count me in with those who hate the manner in which the international banking cartel has wormed its way into the inner workings of our federal government. I hate the condescending, elitist attitudes of many in higher education. I hate the way globalists–such as David Rockefeller and his ilk–have been able to use the federal government to promote and safeguard their own private financial and political agendas. I hate the way secularists in public education and private organizations–such as the ACLU, People For the American Way, the Anti Defamation League, etc.–have been able to strip our culture of its Christian heritage. I hate the way politicians from both parties in Washington, D.C., ignore and trample the U.S. Constitution. I hate the way professing Christians and “conservatives” turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the warmongering, police-state mentality of many within the national Republican Party. I hate the way Nancy Pelosi and her gaggle of liberal Democrats use their power to promote socialism in America. I hate the liberal bias of the mainstream news media. I hate the so-called “political correctness” that permeates the philosophy of virtually every major organization in America these days. I hate the attempts by liberals and “do-gooders” of all stripes to take away my right to keep and bear arms. And, yes, I hate the way America’s foreign policy has been manipulated by foreign lobbyists, socialists within the United Nations, and international business interests.

With all of that said, however, if you hate America, count me out! Read more of this article »

What Did Joe Wilson Do For His Party?

Posted by Larry Miller on September 16, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

joe-wilsonWhen Joe Wilson shouted “You lie!” during Barack Hussein Obama’s big speech, he spoke for many people in flyover country who have had their fill of the misinformation and disrespect coming out of the White House. He has since become a folk hero to the millions who are just waiting to see someone in Washington speak for them. It was kind of like the boy who told the assembled crowd that “the emperor has no clothes”. Many know this, but are afraid to speak up about it.

For those who appear to be so concerned about the decorum of their club, it would appear that a president telling congress and the American people things that are provably untrue if one were to read the bill coming out of the House of Representatives is a even greater affront to decorum. Everyone in that room has pledged to work for the good of the citizens of the US. However, in a victory for form over substance, they ignore the misleading words, and criticize the one who has the audacity point them out, and hope they get noticed. It’s almost like the folks from ACORN criticizing methodology of the two budding journalists who figured out how to prove they were corrupt.

Displaying the understanding of the people and political strategy that led to his second place finish in last years presidential election, John McCain, said, “There is no place for it in that setting, or any other…” News reports tell of numerous party insiders aghast at Wilson’s display of honesty. Many would rather have their ruling club undisturbed by such intrusions of support for the opinion of the riff raff back home. This Republican leadership, on one hand, has a difficult time dealing with such principled stands. On the other hand, they understand that they need the votes and support of this “fringe” as they call it. They are looking for the support of this “fringe” yet are giving none in return. Rules for Radicals

radicalsThe book Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky rose to prominence as some looked into the past and strategies of community organizer and presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama. It outlined the tactics and strategies he used and even taught in efforts to enforce his version of social justice on the American people.

It would do us well to have a look at these rules, since they have been used effectively against our society. Learning about his approach, and the methods used by the radicals surrounding the President can prepare us for dealing with them. We can even pick up a few pointers and turn some of them around on the current political establishment.

Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. This means they community organizers become masters of illusion… deceit even. It comes down to attempts at intimidating the other side into concessions they would not make if they understood the reality. Read more of this article »

Has The Church Become Irrelevant?

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on August 25, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

Church of Notre Dame des NeigesAmerica’s Christian heritage is both rich and deep. What most historians and educators refuse to acknowledge, our forebears understood clearly: it was mostly Christians and churches that formed and shaped the new land that became known as the United States of America.

For example, when discussing the brave exploits of the passengers on board the Mayflower, people seem to have forgotten that the voyage was mostly the endeavor of a single church congregation. And don’t forget that it was Pastor Jonas Clark’s male congregants who withstood British troops at Lexington and fired the very first of the shots heard ’round the world. The famous French historian, Alexis De Tocqueville, credited the pulpits and churches of Colonial America with inspiring America’s successful War for Independence and subsequent prosperity much more than its institutions of learning, halls of Congress, or industries of invention. From the very beginning, America’s Christians and pastors were intricately involved in the establishment and building of this republic.

It is no hyperbole to say that without the influence, sacrifice, dedication, blood, sweat, and tears of America’s early Christians, this country would not exist.

But what do we see today? We see pastors and church congregations who are, for the most part, totally ignorant of their own heritage and history. They have little or no understanding of the principles of Natural Law-something America’s founders knew almost by second nature (no pun intended). They seem to know next to nothing of the Biblical principles of liberty and government. All they seem to be able to do is regurgitate some mindless interpretation of Romans 13–an interpretation that could have been written by King George III or even Adolf Hitler. Poor Plaxico Burress

Posted by Larry Miller on August 21, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

burressSome days it does not pay to get out of bed. Sometime back the New York Giant’s Plaxico Burress headed out for an evening on the town in Manhattan. One last accessory he packed was his unregistered hand gun. Then, while showing off his toy, somehow he shot himself in the leg. Now to make matters worse, he is going to jail for two years for simply having the gun. It could have been worse, New York City has such myopic anti-gun laws he could be spending the next three and a half years behind bars.

One would think that with the crime level in the city and the overtaxed police department, they would understand the need for people to defend themselves. However, the idea of handling ones own problem is foreign to the northeast liberal thought process. The only trustworthy approach is to let an anointed government agency take care of you.

Back to poor Plaxico… perforating his leg… heading off to the big house. It kind of reminds me of something John Wayne told us: “Life is tough, It’s tougher when you are stupid” Responsible gun owners know their weapon is not a toy to be played with… especially when one is drinking. Plaxico didn’t see it that way. Perhaps the sentence is appropriate more for stupidity if not for possessing a weapon the government did not know about.

This sentence is indicative of the irrational fear the government in the Big Apple has of people defending themselves. By comparison, Philadelphia Eagle Donte Stallworth, got behind the wheel after a few too many ‘adult beverages’ and actually killed someone. This landed him in jail for thirty days in another jurisdiction. Since Burress hurt no one but himself… but COULD HAVE killed someone with his unregistered weapon, he bought himself two years.

There is no understanding the progressive mind… only limiting the damage it can do.

navy1A few weeks ago, actions by the US Navy to restrict a forum by Christian mothers made the news as they were told they could not statements of their faith were not welcome. However, someone spoke up and the decision was overruled. Check it out…
Navy Removes Restrictions on Navy Moms’ Religious Speech

Washington, DC – The Navy has announced new Community Guidelines, removing its restrictions on religious speech on its Navy for Moms website. This change is in response to a letter Liberty Counsel sent to Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, demanding an end to religious discrimination and reinstatement of users’ free speech rights on the website. In its response letter to Liberty Counsel, Navy Admiral J. F. Kilkenny wrote, “I have instructed my staff to remove the current restrictions on religious and political debate. The goal of the revised guidelines is to allow for more open discussion without compromising the purpose of the website….”

NavyForMoms.com was set up by the United States Navy to provide support and a means of communication for mothers and other loved ones of current and potential sailors. Read more of this article »
