Barack Hussein Obama made a campaign appearance today at Engine House Number Nine. It was a closed audience for the President to make some sort of point about how his jobs program would keep firefighters on the job and our homes and children safe. It must have been a small, exclusive group inside as the firehouse just is not that big.
Because the man has only concern for himself and his agenda, with none for the world around him, it was obviously not a problem to shut down streets all around the fire house for hours. These security plans were even more intrusive as trucks and vans were denied access to the area hours earlier. Normal Americans, considering the area, that had the common sense not to vote for this man, sat in lines of traffic on major highways all around the Chesterfield County site, while The One pandered to his larcenous base.
While this is a major inconvenience to the good people of central Virginia for a short time, it is minor compared to the inconvenience and disruption Obama and his henchmen have inflicted on the entire country. However this really is nothing unusual for a community organizer and ACORN attorney from Chicago.
One of Barack Hussein Obama’s most frequent complaints is that those pesky Republicans are placing party and politics over the good of the country. In some ways he is correct. One would have to ask what he is complaining about. He got his two trillion dollar blank check and he won’t have to bamboozle congress for more until after his defeat next year. Yet, somehow it is the Republicans fault that the economy is falling apart.
Yes, many Republicans did place party discipline and allegiance over actions they knew to be good for the country when they fell for the fearful John Boehner’s attempt to look statesmanlike by “compromising” with the administration and Harry Reid and giving the President exactly what he wanted – more money to spend and no further chance to stop it until after the people render their opinion of his presidency. I find the term “compromise” a little odd when one side gives up just about everything they fought for and the other side gets exactly what they wanted. Yet the president needs someone to blame his failure on, since it could not possibly be his policies.
This is what happens when our elected representatives place party loyalty and submission to those in leadership positions over following the wishes of those who put them in office – their bosses. How will they fair when the citizens render an opinion on their performance? Considering the fact that generic incumbents have a re-election rate percentage in the nineties and that they will usually be running against socialistic Democrats whose moral turpitude makes them completely unsuited for any kind of responsible position. Our only hope of getting through to them is through primary challenges. Read more of this article »
In one of the more perceptive moments coming out of the Romney campaign, the name for the President’s current midwest campaign tour is now becoming part of our pop vocabulary. Even though it may be an indication of a more Beatles than Elvis orientation, “The Magical Misery Tour” moniker captures the spirit of this latest venture.
Not satisfied with having inflicted all sorts of economic and social mayhem on the unsuspecting public, Barack Obama, unashamedly and repeatedly blames George Bush, Republicans, Tea Partiers and maybe a little interference from a misalignment of the stars for the failure of his “surefire” solutions.
He declared, “In the short term, we should actually make more investments that will put people to work and get the economy moving.” Other than the faulty logic of his schemes, the problem may lie in the first part of the statement. “In the short term.”
Yesterday’s drop of 512 in the Dow shows the smashing success of the debt ceiling bill foisted on the American people. We were told increasing the debt limit so the national government can continue spending money on all sorts of schemes to control, rather than benefit the citizens, would eliminate the uncertainty hanging over the business world and the economy would soar out of the doldrums and go into a hiring frenzy like we’ve never seen. Oh yes, and it would user in an era of love, peace and harmony. Well, maybe not.
It’s not exactly happening like the Keynesians planned. The opening of the federal purse is almost guaranteed, they tell us, to open the wellsprings of prosperity on the huddled masses. Unfortunately, this plan has been tried recognizably since the Roosevelt administration and before, and they are still looking for their first success… as are the Europeans and the Greeks, especially the Greeks.
Pollster Scott Rasmussen reports that just 22% of the people approve of this plan that gives the President a pass on this argument until after the election. 26% of us who have no idea of what is going on have no opinion and 53% are actively opposed to the deal. As with ObamaCare and many other emanations from the banks of the Potomac, operations are in direct conflict with the desires and wisdom of the American people. Read more of this article »
With the re-appointment of Ben Bernanke as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank and congressional oversight of the bank in the headlines, the question of whether the Fed should be permitted to continue operating in complete secrecy and without any accountability to Congress surfaced again.
The actions of President Obama’s administration often appear that he is not aware of the legal limits of the executive branch of the federal government, that he just doesn’t know any better, such as taking over major segments of American industry, spending the nation into financial oblivion, and taking actions in other matters that are clearly outside the scope of his authority. But then I am reminded that he is an attorney who taught law and, of course, he has the Justice Department as well as his own counsel to help evaluate his proposed policies.
So, assuming that he knows what he is doing, and given that he has plenty of highly qualified legal advice available to help him make judgments can only lead to one conclusion: that when his policies are legally or constitutionally questionable, he know it and doesn’t care. The pressure of regime and media propaganda is showing as Speaker John Boehner fights to get his unpopular Plan B through the House of Representatives. It is not only unpopular with the Wicked Witch of the West and her minions on the Democrat side of the aisle, but with the true believer Tea Party types as well. On one side, they are unhappy because it is not a blank check to fund their progressive dream and on the other side because the new bill is kind of a weak sister version of the initial, less than ideal, Cut, Cap & Balance bill already passed by Mr. Boehner and company.
As I write this, the vote on the Plan B effort has been delayed – an obvious sign of dissension in the ranks that would deny the Speaker the 216 votes needed to pass this compromise with the non-functioning opposition. Even if he can twist arms, call in favors, blackmail or whatever enough of his own team to gain this legislative victory, it will most likely be of little consequence.
Harry Reid, the Majority Leader of the same Senate that has been unable to pass a budget for several years, arrogantly announced that this new proposal would be “dead on arrival” in his wing of the capitol. He, like most Democrats, is good at blocking and destroying the good our government can do for the people, instead of controlling too many aspects of their existence. Already, before Plan B is even passed, Dingy Harry has arranged for all 53 Senate Democrats to agree to scuttle the bill. It’s sort of the reverse of Nancy Plosive telling House members that they have to pass ObamaCare so they can see what is in it. This time though, they are rejection legislation before it is fully formed, let alone passed.
After the tragic shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords which claimed the lives of several others, including Federal District Judge John Roll, the progressive left screamed for a return to a level of civility. The civility they were demanding was from their opponents apparently, as they made no move in this direction themselves. The fact that Judge Roll was at the center of the Arizona immigration law dispute, and may actually have been the primary target is beside the point when our socialist opponents want to make the most of a crisis or tragedy.
As we moved forward from that calamity in Tuscon, the left kept up their vicious and, largely unfounded, attacks on anyone exhibiting even a minor degree of common sense. During that time the semi-loyal opposition maintained, in general, a more gentlemanly and ladylike demeanor, refusing to call the regime and its’ supporters on the vile and disgusting behavior and speech visible on the nightly news and in the blogosphere.
In some ways it is a credit to these American patriots that they did not stoop to the level of their opponents. Their behavior was usually measured and circumspect. In some ways it makes one wonder if they take the battle to save our republic as seriously and those who stand against our liberties do. As I noted before, their behavior was usually measured and circumspect – except when it came to dealing with opponents from within their own camp. Read more of this article »
Watching Barack Hussein Obama’s press conference this afternoon, I saw him say basically, “We spent the money suckers, now you have to come up with the bucks.” Now those weren’t his exact words, but he was saying “The money has been spent!” Which is partially true. Much has been committed, but not has been spent. He, his gang of thieves, and the previous administration have committed and over committed the taxpayers to all sorts of bills that many of us were adamantly opposed to.
He is acting like there is no changing the commitments, when in reality there is. We are told that there are some discretionary expenses, and entitlements which cannot be touched. Here is where he is wrong! Giveaways were passed and they can be repealed… and they can be adjusted. Progressives act as if one of their foolish expenses, once passed, can never be changed. He and his socialist advisors cannot conceive of putting a stop to such foolish spending as giving our dollars, our borrowed dollars, to countries that hate us. They cannot comprehend cutting off funds for such foolishness as gay film festivals in foreign venues, or hair brained research by the academic community. Once again we are back to the “We spent the money already suckers… now you pay for it!”
He was talking about the so-called August 2 deadline when we will have supposedly reached the point where we cannot pay our bills as a nation. He cannot comprehend, he says, cutting back on any of the commitments of taxpayer dollars that he and his cronies have made. He would rather drive us deeper into debt than take the actions necessary to extract us from the pit of indebtedness. Read more of this article »
I’ve just watched a tape of an Islamic spokesman telling us that the 9/11 attacks were a show by the Jews to make the Muslims look bad. We have witnessed Anthony Wiener admit that he lied about his Twitter account being hacked. We see the President and his surrogates explaining that we really have no inflation and that the economy is on the upswing when we see all around us evidence to the contrary.
Who can we believe? Are we happy about this? Do we believe that the administration is really trying to create private sector jobs? Do we really believe the administration is concerned about the welfare of all Americans and not just the special interests that supplied the votes to put them in power? Our eyes and ears tell us that the unions are being supported and protected… especially the public sector unions. We see the administration saying there is nowhere to cut the budget. The say we can poke around the edges of what they call “discretionary spending”, but can go no further.
Entitlements, they say, cannot be touched. Let’s think about this a moment. Beltway insiders have another term for these payouts of tax dollars. The call them “transfer payments”, meaning they are transferring money from those who worked for it and earned it to those who did not. If they actually used this term and people understood it, how many of our friends and neighbors would be cheering wildly for for them to continue… except for those on the receiving end. The separation of entitlements and discretionary spending is, in itself a lie. The truth is, IT’S ALL DISCRETIONARY! We cannot permit those in control to control the discussion by using deceptive terminology, no matter which party they say they belong to. Read more of this article »
The above video has been around for some time showing Barack Obama mocking the Bible and people who believe it. He has criticized small town folks for clinging to their guns and religion… when they should be listening to him and his wisdom. While this doesn’t make us feel confident and secure personally, there is a much deeper problem with this thinking.
On one hand, if it were even recognized by most people they would see Christians handling it with grace and humility. When was the last time you heard of Baptists blowing up buildings or Pentecostals decapitating people in blind rage. On the other hand, it does not bode well for our nation. President Kennedy once said, “Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.” I don’t think he would mind if we add stronger women as well. I believe he had a very good point, one that applies to our current struggle to retain the freedom our forefathers gave us through their blood, sweat and tears. Many pray for a change in the leadership of our country. Others, following the Biblical mandate pray for wisdom for our leaders as they rush headlong into destruction. Still others pray for a new crop of citizens to come along and do battle to set things right. This last one may be closest to what the former President was advising us to do.
Sure the Obama administration appears to be doing everything in its power to bring about the change they ambiguously promised. We can, and must, pray for a change of heart in the White House. However, it is within the realm of possibility the Almighty may tell us “no”. Just as he told the Israelites that they needed to go and clear the promised land themselves… and suffered because they did not complete the job. It is entirely possible, that He will not dramatically clear the snake pit of Washington with a wave of his all powerful hand. He may waiting for us to be willing to be part of His plan rather than sitting on the sidelines. He may be looking at us to take advantage of the freedoms we have been given as Americans and put people in office that will stand against the increasingly dictatorial tendencies of Barack Hussein Obama.
We need to send people to represent us in the nation’s capitol who will agree with Thomas Jefferson when he said, “I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.” We don’t need, indeed we cannot afford, to send those to Washington who seek to work “across the aisle” and compromise with the enemies of freedom and make their machinations slightly less onerous. These are dangerous times and we need men and women of courage who will stand for victory rather than compromise which only leads, ultimately to defeat. Read more of this article »
President Obama says he wants to find common ground with the GOP as they look for a way to solve the budget impasse. He has this fantasy that there is a common ground between his spendthrift policies and the teaparty inspired push for fiscal restraint and respect for the taxpayers. The sad fact is that some of the old timers in the Republican Party also believe this is possible.
One has to consider if there is really a common ground between wisdom and foolishness… sanity and insanity… right and wrong that is not foolish, insane or wrong in itself. In the quest to be seen as reasonable, many of our congressmen and senators who give really great campaign speeches, act like compromise is the way to get things done. Unfortunately, it is… but not what the people need.
If something is wrong, like spending money we don’t have, and charging it to to generations not yet born, putting us in debt to people who don’t like us and giving it to, among others, people who have sneaked into our country illegally… then what justification is there for a compromise of any kind? If giving a hundred million dollars to Planned Parenthood to facilitate the killing of babies is wrong… is not giving them fifty million dollars wrong as well. Read more of this article »
A few days back I watched one of the final launches of the US space shuttle program. Watching the powerful engines fire and the massive ship lift off the launch pad brought back memories of the triumphs and failures of the entire space program. I thought back to the day our seventh grade class filed into the school auditorium to watch Alan Shepard blast into space from Cape Canaveral on the first brief flight of an American into space. We weren’t sure if we were going to witness triumph or tragedy. As we returned to our classes, we were proud to be Americans and, probably, half of us wanted to be astronauts.
Over the years the space program cost the US taxpayers dearly, and paid us back with many technological advances that came from American ingenuity and pride in our country. Our astronauts became heroes to the young and old alike. These were men who tempted death as the explored the final frontier. Many came through unscathed. Some did not and were mourned by the nation who saw them as champions who carried our national prestige and honor into the international arena where we were constantly challenged by the Russian bear.
Although, NASA is a government agency giving government contracts, and, most assuredly, there was the all to common rape of the taxpayer, it gave us all something to make us feel good and proud to be Americans… that is, except for those looking out solely to loot their fellow citizens bank accounts. It’s been coming at us for years. Remember those old black and white movies where most of the men wore suits and ties? Beaver Cleaver came home to a mother wearing a nice dress, heels and pearls, and his dad sat around the house in a white shirt and tie. Remember when IBMers were clones in gray suits? Then, corporate offices adopted “casual Friday”… then casual every day. While I’m not a big one for coats and ties myself, I still find it annoying to find myself sitting in a nice restaurant next some guy in shorts, a tank top and flipflops. Even our own president still dresses like a community organizer while his wife often looks like her wardrobe comes from the sale rack at a thrift store.
But, these lowered standards of formality are just minor situations compared to what is now taking place in many airports around the country. Our government is forcing random citizens to parade themselves through a device where some unseen TSA agent sees more of them than if they were on a beach in the skimpiest of bikinis. Should someone have the audacity to object, the alternative is to be felt and fondled in a way that would land the writer and reader in jail were we to do it to some stranger on the street or in the office. Once again our government has taken the authority to set itself above the law it imposes on the citizens.
There have been many thoughts about this practice that is supposed to make the flying public safer and thwart the efforts of those who hate us. Interestingly, the nation that is hated even more than ours has found it unnecessary to resort to such universally obnoxious and intrusive methods. Of course the Israelis use the various intelligence apparatus they have available, but they take the logical steps of concentrating their limited resources on potential fliers who, most normal people, would find the most likely to take destructive actions. They sit them down, look them in the eyes and probe their motives rather than confiscating everyone’s toothpaste. Read more of this article »
We’ve seen Barack Hussein Obama’s poll numbers fall until only the slack jawed segment of the population or those locked in the unreal world of academia can even stomach looking at the man. We know conservatives and libertarians have plenty to dispute about his policy decisions. Even the middle of the road independents have had their fill, but now, believe it or not, even the thinking lefties have grown weary of him. They believe he has been disingenuous with the American people. I’ll use a smaller word… he LIED to us. When even Jon Stewart starts taking about this progressive darling, we know the honeymoon is over.
Watch it quickly… it’s not up on YouTube and may not be up here long.
“Our own government has become our enemy.” So said Pinal County (Arizona) Sheriff Paul Babeu.
“Babeu told CNSNews.com that rather than help law enforcement in Arizona stop the hundreds of thousands of people who come into the United States illegally, the federal government is targeting the state and its law enforcement personnel.
“‘What’s very troubling is the fact that at a time when we in law enforcement and our state need help from the federal government, instead of sending help they put up billboard-size signs warning our citizens to stay out of the desert in my county because of dangerous drug and human smuggling and weapons and bandits and all these other things and then, behind that, they drag us into court with the ACLU.’ Babeu said.” Read more of this article »
This may not be a fashionable post, but there are things that must be said, that few are saying. The NAACP, feeling the heat as the tea partiers are waking up our country to the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of government programs in solving the problems, not only of the black community, but all Americans struggling to make it in the world.
Showing the exclusively race based tunnel vision, the organization set their sites on repudiating “the racism of the Tea Parties”. The leadership of this formerly useful institution, in pushing the same disastrous programs that all but destroyed the black families, had to resort to playing the race card and engaging in character assassination. Generally this is the last play of one who is unable to refute logical arguments.
We know that the government intervention has never, and will never, lift people out of poverty. Abraham Lincoln said, “You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich, you cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong, you cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down, you cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.” Yet, holding out the promise of benefits paid for by someone else is what placed these leaders in their exalted positions and what they expect to keep them in power. Therefore, the tea parties who recognize the failure of the NAACP’s traditional approach and had the audacity to point it out… much like the child who noticed the emperor had no clothes, have to go. Barack Hussein Obama has done his best to turn our country into a place only a European socialist or communist could love. Even worse than his intended destruction of the best health care system in the world, or his presiding over the annihilation of marine life in the Gulf of Mexico or his intention to make our energy costs skyrocket – in spite of the other economic pressures caused by his mishandling of the economy, is one crime that exceeds even these debacles of leadership. He has guided this country in a direction that appears to be designed to stick the governmental thumb into the eye of everyday Americans… the kind who have made this country work for more than two centuries.
And how have many reacted to this Chicago thug giving jobs to cheap labor coming into this country illegally or taking their money and giving to all sorts of people and purposes unacceptable to the American value system? He has turned the normally happy and charitable citizens into angry subjects, distrustful of the government that is supposed to be looking after their welfare. The people understand that they are nothing but resources for his grand scheme of social reorganization.
The incensed population no longer has the happiness and optimism that once typified America. Some leaders have the ability to take people in difficult situations and buck them up to restore their confidence and ability to beat their circumstances and lack of confidence. This “leader” has taken another tack. He is telling us that we should not have had our prosperity at the expense of the rest of the world and the under performers in our own society. To the Obamessiah, economic justice is sufficient cause to bring this hardship on the American people… to the point where he is taking no steps to correct the situation. Read more of this article »
Now that the media circus surrounding the surprising honesty of General Stanley McCrystal is dying down, we can look at the reactions of both the players and spectators, and possibly learn something from them. Essentially they fall into two categories. There are those who see this as strictly an insubordination and chain of command issue. In the other camp are those who see only the right and wrong of the issue. Like many of life’s questions there is some virtue surrounding both positions, but they do tell us a lot about the person holding them.
As a soldier, Gen. McChrystal was expected to follow orders. As a career soldier, particularly one who achieved his rank, he knew not to publicly question his orders, or the civilian source. This is pretty much cut and dried that his actions warranted his dismissal. Some who publicly criticized him did so primarily on the principle that the man should know his place in the overall scheme of things Others could not accept the fact that this man who was almost universally highly regarded, both at home and abroad would have the temerity to question the alleged manhood of the White House resident. It is unfortunate that those of honor and good will would be lumped together with the blatant partisanship of this administration.
The concept of civilian control of the military is basic to our American system of government. The elected representatives of the people must be able to direct or restrain the vast power to kill and destroy that we have developed. The rub comes when this civilian control is exercised by those who despise the soldiers, sailors and airmen who keep us safe, or if they have no clue as to what will preserve or harm our great nation. There is a YouTube video making the rounds that inspires tea party patriots and gives ajada to many progressive statists. It is the product of congressional candidate Rick Barber looking for a way into the hearts and minds of Republican voters in Alabama’s 2nd district. The brief video shows him discussing today’s issues with some founding fathers. After enumerating the various assaults on our property and liberty, he is told, “Gather your armies”.
For some reason, those who have imbibed in the Obama kool aid see this as a call for armed rebellion. Considering the abundant and intrusive excesses of the current administration combined with the publicly expressed anger of so many Americans, it is understandable that the perpetrators would be nervous. However, Barber contends that he is really only looking to gather grass roots armies and arouse the sleeping giant that the tea party movement has begun to stir. Read more of this article »
To hear Barack Hussein Obama tell the story, he was on top of the oil spill from day one. He says that he has made available all the government’s resources in solving this problem. His problem though, is that facts don’t quite align themselves with his story. The inaction of the national government dwarfs anything his predecessor was accused of in relation to Katrina.
He also says that in the beginning, taking BP’s word that the situation as not that serious and that they could handle it, he kept pretty much on the sidelines. This was before he put his well manicured boot on their neck. Again the facts don’t fit the White House narrative. The New York Daily News reports that:
Days after the Deepwater Horizon rig blew up, Carol Browner, head of the White House’s Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, told Obama the explosion would result in a never-before-seen disaster. Read more of this article »
Recently I received an email listing some pretty incriminating quotes from Dreams of My Father, the book domestic terrorist Bill Ayers ghosted for Barack Hussein Obama. They include such pearls of wisdom as:
“I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”
And
“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” from the Audacity of Hope.
As I looked over the stats page for this blog I see we have readers from, not just the good old USA, but significant numbers from places like London, Beijing, Islamabad and Moscow… not to mention all sorts of places around the globe. I like to think it is people from around the world looking for encouragement from American Christians. I understand we may have some KGB and CIA types watching, frowning and making notes, but, as much as is humanly possible, bringing out the truth is the point of what we are doing.
But then, that should be the point for each of us. Most every one reading this has a pretty good understanding of what is going on in our country and in the world. The key, then, is what do we do about it? It’s easy to sit around and complain about how bad things are, how bad the government, how bad the kids are… but that doesn’t do a whole lot to make the world a better place. If that’s not one of your goals, there is not much to say.
Watching TV news, listening to talk radio, reading books, even reading blogs will fill your head with so much information that your head will explode. Many have taken this to heart and thrown themselves into tea parties, tax payer associations, and political party involvement. This is the best way we need to reverse the disastrous course Barack Hussein Obama is leading us down before peaceful means become impossible. Read more of this article »
Now it’s Barack Obama’s war. After campaigning against “George Bush’s War” in the Middle East, Obama has escalated that war. By transferring thousands of America’s forces from Iraq to Afghanistan, and by sending an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, the liberal Democrat has demonstrated that his administration is not so different from that of his “conservative” Republican predecessor.
While I was crisscrossing America during the campaign season last year, I repeatedly predicted that no matter who won the White House, John McCain or Barack Obama, neither would end the war in the Middle East. Many Democrats tried to argue with me, saying they knew Obama would end the war. Now they know I told the truth.
During his speech at West Point in which he announced the war’s escalation, he said, “[T]he Taliban [is] a ruthless, repressive and radical movement.” What he (or John McCain or George W. Bush) never bothers to tell you is that this is the same Taliban that the US government SUPPORTED, back when it was fighting Soviet forces in Afghanistan. Read more of this article »
Several recent tragic events have shown the priorities of the current administration are skewed away from those of the normal Americans. What we can learn from seemingly unrelated events shows a disturbing divergence of thinking between the citizens and those who see themselves as the elites.
Twenty nine miners died in a April 6, 2010 explosion in Montcoal WV. Eleven oil rig workers were apparently incinerated fifty some miles out at sea and an yet to be determined number of people died as the Cumberland River ravaged Tennessee. All were devastating to the families and friends of those involved, yet because of the way they meshed with Barack Obama’s agenda, they were all treated differently by the formerly main stream media.
Our fearless leader made a big deal and show of morning the men who did the dangerous work of going underground and digging out the filthy energy source called coal. The disaster occurred in a dark blue state and could be tied to numerous violations of federal regulations… the saviors of us all and it was one more opportunity to show how evil those money grubbing corporations are. Beyond this, it gave the the United Mine Workers additional impetus for unionizing those awful non-union operations. It was a win all around for crisis manager, Rahm Emanuel and company… but not for the families who lost fathers, sons brothers and friends. Read more of this article »
During the campaign, and after, we have heard a lot of promises from Barack Hussein Obama about how open and honest his administration would be. Well, now that we have seen him in action… not so much.
One of Barack Hussein Obama’s favorite terms for the good old USA is “arrogant”. He continually preaches that we have stuck our nose where it did not belong and it has damaged our position in the world community… most of which hates us anyway and they are jealous of the prosperity our freedom has provided. One would think that our president would be disinclined to interfere in the affairs of sovereign nations. As far as nations that value government power over the rights of their citizens, he is behaving as expected. However, when it comes to the nation of Israel, he treats it like one of the fifty seven states he visited during the campaign and wants to control it in the same way.
He believes that Israelis building in their own cities and annoying the Palestinians who don’t live there is detrimental to the “peace process”. He overlooks the fact that Israel is a sovereign nation, and the Palestinians are breaking the tenth commandment by coveting land that is not theirs and their ancestors could not hold on to when confronted by the rightful owners. He ignores the fact that at various points since modern Israel’s formation they have confronted hostile neighbors and pushed them back in defending their people and land, only to have “world opinion” force them back to boundaries the anti-Israeli world desired.
The resident of our White House has cozied up to those who would see us fail… those in Venezuela, those in Iran, those in Korea and anywhere else around the world where strong men are glorified and the people downtrodden. He believes we have been bad stewards of the vast power and prosperity our country had… but really did not deserve. He is redistributing power on an international scale in much the same way that he is attempting to redistribute wealth at home. Read more of this article »
Passage of the so-called “health care reform” bill in the House of Representatives this past Sunday, March 21 (I won’t even address the inferred unconstitutionality of Congress doing business on the Lord’s Day. See Article. I. Section. 7. Paragraph. 2.) drove yet another stake into the heart of America. For all intents and purposes, it is the health of the United States that is in dire need of healing. In fact, the US has been on extended life-support for decades. With its condition being rendered critical, and absent major surgery, its days are numbered. The passage of this bill only serves to further weaken an already frail Constitution. In fact, this one may prove to be the fatal blow. Lady Liberty may never recover.
The decision by Congress to socialize medicine in the US ranks among the most draconian, most egregious, most horrific actions ever taken by the central government in Washington, D.C. This bill rocks the principles of liberty and constitutional government to the core. It changes fundamental foundations; it repudiates historical principle. Oh! The same flag may fly on our flagpoles, the same monuments may grace our landscape, and the same National Anthem may be sung during our public ceremonies, but it is not the same America. The Congress of the United States has now officially turned America into a socialist state.
On March 23, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the health care bill into law, and as such, this date–along with March 21–joins a list of dates that have each inflicted unconstitutional, socialistic, and sometimes even tyrannical action against the States United and have, therefore, contributed to the destruction of a free America. Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council exercised his and his organizations First Amendment right when he spoke out about the replacement of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military policy with a positive acceptance of openly homosexual members. He wrote about the long documented problems this type of policy caused in the past and will cause in the future. Mr. Perkins understands that soldiers don’t like taking showers with guys that like taking showers with soldiers.
Sometime back, he was invited to give a devotional at a National Prayer Luncheon held at Andrews Air Force Base, just outside the liberal bastion of beltway thinking. However, somewhere along the line, commanders, ever mindful of their promotional opportunities and their relationship to their civilian leaders, decided that it would be best if Tony Perkins not spread his common sense ideas among the men in their charge.
Perkins was told that he and his group were “incompatible in our role as military members who serve our elected officials and our commander in chief.” Some would call it censorship if messengers are denied access based on their message. It is clear that only one message on this topic is permitted in the military and and our government in general. Read more of this article »
