unobama3It’s amazing how much misinformation can be held in one human head. Yesterday Barack Husssein Obama told the assembled United Nations brain trust that the United States was committed to fulfilling our obligation to the world in doing more and more to stop the dread specter of climate change. He said, “We understand the gravity of the climate threat. We are determined to act. And we will meet our responsibility to future generations,” He might have added that “they may be eating gruel, but the climate will not change,” but he didn’t. Had he done so… it would have added a ring of truth to his talk.

It’s ironic that he spoke these words just a week after a man who has actually studied the subject, Professor Mojib Latif of Germany’s Leibniz Institute, addressed the UN’s World Climate Change Conference in Geneva, telling them that things may not be quite as they have been predicting… that the Atlantic, especially the North Atlantic, was running temperatures considerably cooler than anticipated and that we would be entering “one or even two decades during which temperatures cool.”

Professor Latif is not just some schlep off the street. He has won numerous prizes for his work on climate change and has been the lead contributor to the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) last two five year reports that were of the “Omigosh, we’re all gonna get killed” variety. One has to wonder if he will be invited back next time. Read more of this article »
