George Washington[As he left public life, George Washington had serious concerns for the country he helped bring into being. He had surprising insights into the situations this new nation would face and (often ignored) advice on avoiding pitfalls that have destroyed other nations in the past. The language is difficult to comprehend at times, but we can learn from his wisdom or we can continue to ignore it at our peril.]

It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.

There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume.

Friends and Citizens:

The period for a new election of a citizen to administer the executive government of the United States being not far distant, and the time actually arrived when your thoughts must be employed in designating the person who is to be clothed with that important trust, it appears to me proper, especially as it may conduce to a more distinct expression of the public voice, that I should now apprise you of the resolution I have formed, to decline being considered among the number of those out of whom a choice is to be made.

I beg you, at the same time, to do me the justice to be assured that this resolution has not been taken without a strict regard to all the considerations appertaining to the relation which binds a dutiful citizen to his country; and that in withdrawing the tender of service, which silence in my situation might imply, I am influenced by no diminution of zeal for your future interest, no deficiency of grateful respect for your past kindness, but am supported by a full conviction that the step is compatible with both.

In consideration of the many undeserved Blessings conferred upon us by GOD, the Father of all Mercies; it becomes us no only in our private and usual devotion, to express our obligations to Him, as well as our dependence upon Him; but also specially to set a part a Day to be employed for this great and important Purpose:

To Carry Or Not To Carry

In the past few years the number of concealed hand gun permits have exploded all across the nation, except in states that believe the protection they provide is all the protection their citizens deserve. Of course it sounds like a cliché, but it is true that, if you are in imminent danger, a gun in the hand is better than a policeman on the phone.

We Christians trust God for our safety and many believe we should not have to depend on man’s weapons. There is no argument with this thinking. However, we live in a world with other people around us. We Christians should be even more aware that whatever we are doing or what is going on… it’s not just about us.

On October 16, 1991, George Hennard drove his pickup truck into a Luby’s cafeteria in Kileen, Texas and proceeded to kill 23 patrons and wound 20 others. Adding to the tragedy was the fact that at least one of the victims had a pistol locked in the glove compartment of his truck. Had he had it with him, lives could well have been saved. We are seeing more of this sort of thing as time goes by. Just this past week we saw a vicious attack on a west coast salon.

Dan Wheldon, A Race Well Run

Dan WheldonFor a racing fan, Sunday was a difficult day. The Indy Car circuit lost one of its’ shining stars. Two time Indianapolis 500 winner, Dan Wheldon,  lost his life in a fifteen car pile up during the season finale. Anyone who has been around motor sports where drivers strap themselves into their brutally fast machines and tempt the grim reaper on a regular basis knows this sort of thing can happen.

Fortunately, over recent years, the sport has become safer with each passing season and the introduction of all sorts of innovations and rules. It is commonplace to see cars flipping and gyrating across the track, leaving a trail of flying debris and finally smashing into a “soft” SAFER barrier, only to have the driver pull himself from the wreckage and wave to the crowd. We have been lulled into false belief that the engineers have solved the safety problem and that the drivers are indestructible.

Today was a dose of reality as Wheldon’s car was launched into the air and the cockpit slammed into the catch fence intended to keep the spectators from danger. Immediately after this tragic event, there was talk about changes in these necessary fences to make them safer. How they do that, I’ll leave to the engineers who have done amazing work in making the tracks safer for all concerned. I applaud their efforts, as every death like this is a tragedy. The thing I believe we need to remember, is that the human body was not constructed to crash into relative solid objects at over 200 mph.

Pledge of Allegiance Day Celebrated as Part of America’s Exceptionalism

Washington, DC – An estimated 12 million students recited the Pledge of Allegiance in school for the first time 119 years ago on October 12, 1892. Following the Pledge, students, teachers, school administrators, and public officials either said a prayer or read scripture from the Bible. Each principal at schools in Boston, Massachusetts, recited Psalm 145.

The first celebration of Columbus Day in 1892 was an original effort to keep American exceptionalism alive and to prevent America from losing its freedom and liberties in becoming a socialist nation. James Upham began uniting Americans in 1891 during a very divisive time, by inspiring patriotism through a campaign to hang an American Flag at every school in the nation. The following year on the first Columbus Day, Upham’s idea of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance underneath the flag became a national tradition. Columbus Day is a day to celebrate the discovery of America – a day of patriotism, unity, and freedom. The celebration of Columbus Day allowed all Americans to boldly declare their love of our nation and their fortitude to keep America free.

Freedom Lost

Declaration of IndependenceMany times I hear the ostriches among us exclaim, “What freedoms have we lost? America is the freest country on earth.” We have all heard that, right? Of course, part of the problem is that, thanks to our education system, media, and churches, many Americans do not even know how to define liberty and freedom. The truth is, America’s Founding Fathers were willing to pledge their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor” and fight a bloody revolutionary war for far fewer abridgments of liberty than we Americans endure every day of our lives today. FAR FEWER!

To answer the second part of the ostrich argument first: no, America is not the freest nation on earth. According to the Index of Economic Freedom, which is produced by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, the United States just barely makes it in the top ten, ranked at number nine in the world.

According to Deroy Murdock, “Among the 179 countries examined in the Index, Hong Kong is ranked first, followed by Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Ireland, and Denmark. These nations all outscored the U.S. across ten categories, including taxes, free trade, regulation, monetary policy, and corruption.

Killing an American Citizen

Anwar al-AwlakiThe death of Anwar al-Awlaki has caused quite a stir in this country. He became an al Qaeda leader, helping plan attacks on Americans and encouraging those who carried them out. He became a key figure in an organization dedicated to destroying, not only our government, but our whole way of life.

Some, primarily libertarians, are scandalized that there was an operation carried out purposely targeting an American citizen. They said that because of this citizenship, al Awlaki should have been afforded the due process of our criminal justice system.

If the Muslim cleric had been shot by someone stepping out of the shadows as he entered his New York City apartment, or if he were gunned down as he enjoyed a night at the theater in our nation’s capitol, then it would really be a problem with our government just exterminating someone they determine to be an enemy of the state. It’s not that this sort of thing, assisted “suicides” and the like, have never taken place – justified or not. This case, on the other hand, is just very visibly public.

NC Governor: Let’s Suspend Elections

Beverly PerdueElections have consequences. Sometimes the bring people to power that want to end them. Recently North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue raised the prospect of taking the power of the ballot away from the people… temporarily she alleged.

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

This is obviously the thinking of a liberal progressive who believes that government action can cure all the ills of our country… never mind that their actions created almost every problem we collectively face today. It is the supreme confidence that comes from never having to be accountable for the consequences of your actions. This is exactly the situation she talked about setting up for congress… pretty much like they have experience for years.

Fantasy Quotes On Race

Morgan FreemanMorgan Freeman’s recent rant to Piers Morgan, where he came up with the imaginary quote from Mitch McConnell, is typical of the misleading and false statements – even lies, as I was taught in my younger, more innocent, years – we hear from the progressive left as they attempt to convince the public (and themselves) that there really is only one way to look at the world. If anyone can show us where the Senate Minority Leader ever said, “We’re going to do whatever we can to get this black man outta here,” I’ll let them write the posts for the next three days so they can give us more of an insight into their world of fantasy.

People like Freeman, who I had a great deal of respect for up to this point, and mental midget, Janeane Garofalo, are brilliant examples of the way William F. Buckley saw the left. He told us, “Liberals do a great deal of talking about hearing other points of view, but it sometimes shocks them to learn that there are other points of view.” These people, who support their habits by pretending to be someone they are not, do not understand genuine disagreement with they see it. To their superficial thinking, opposition can on function on the surface of an issue, in an area that they can see and touch.

Since they are so jazzed that a black man is in our highest office, to them, it is only possible that opposition comes for the very same reason. Their enthusiasm prevents them from seeing the division and disaster he is bringing upon our country. They only see the shell of a slick lipped shyster who happens to look different than any president we’ve had in the past. They are so excited that they tend to forget that he is half white, and that half is fouling our nest just as badly as the darker skinned half.

Student Punished for Christian Beliefs About Homosexuality Pushes Back

Fort Worth, TX — On Tuesday, high school freshman Dakota Ary was given in-school suspension for stating in class that he believes homosexuality is wrong because of his Christian faith. Liberty Counsel is representing Dakota in this case, demanding full vindication and a full retraction of the suspension. If the school board does not comply, a lawsuit will be filed for violation of Dakota’s First Amendment rights.

Dakota was in a German language class at Western Hills High School on Tuesday when the topic of homosexuality arose. “I’m a Christian and, to me, being homosexual is wrong,” Dakota said to one of his classmates. His teacher overheard the comment, wrote Dakota an infraction, and sent him to the principal’s office. The class topic was religious beliefs in Germany. During the discussion, one student asked what Germans thought about homosexuality in relation to religion. Another student then asked to hear some translated terms such as “lesbian.” These questions provoked the conversation about Christianity and Dakota’s expression of his opinion to one classmate.

The discipline referral form says the comment was out of context, even though the lesson for the day was on religious beliefs. The teacher charged Dakota with “possible bullying” and indicated, “It is wrong to make such a statement in public school.” Last week, the teacher displayed a picture of two men kissing on a “World Wall” and told the students that homosexuality is becoming more prevalent in the world and that they should just accept it. Many of the students were offended by the teacher’s actions and his continually bringing up the topic of homosexuality in a German language class. Read more of this article »

Do You Believe In Evil?

Mussolini and HitlerOften we read about some of the truly awful things that have happened in the past – sometimes even the not too distant past – and try to comfort ourselves with by thinking we are are living in a different time or different place. Until recently, many have thought we were immune from such atrocities we have heard about, read about or seen. In fact, many have kept their juvenile illusion that bad things will somehow skip over them and hit someone else.

Three thousand people thought the same thing as they prepared for their day on September 11, 2001. Unfortunately, they were wrong. Evil came to our shores that day. Or more properly, we saw evil’s presence on our shores that terrible morning.

It may make many uncomfortable to consider, but we live in a fallen world where the effects of this fall are all around us. Sometimes they are seen in smaller, individual ways like a ghetto child beaten to death by a drugged up parent. Sometimes we see it in more traumatic acts like the attacks on the twin towers and pentagon.

One question is, do we see greater evil in the deaths of 3000 men, women and children or in the death of a single innocent child? Are there degrees of evil? Was Nazi Germany the most evil because they killed six million Jews?

The Crisis By Thomas Paine – Part II

Thomas PaineI once felt all that kind of anger, which a man ought to feel, against the mean principles that are held by the Tories: a noted one, who kept a tavern at Amboy, was standing at his door, with as pretty a child in his hand, about eight or nine years old, as I ever saw, and after speaking his mind as freely as he thought was prudent, finished with this unfatherly expression, “Well! give me peace in my day.” Not a man lives on the continent but fully believes that a separation must some time or other finally take place, and a generous parent should have said, “If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace;” and this single reflection, well applied, is sufficient to awaken every man to duty. Not a place upon earth might be so happy as America. Her situation is remote from all the wrangling world, and she has nothing to do but to trade with them. A man can distinguish himself between temper and principle, and I am as confident, as I am that God governs the world, that America will never be happy till she gets clear of foreign dominion. Wars, without ceasing, will break out till that period arrives, and the continent must in the end be conqueror; for though the flame of liberty may sometimes cease to shine, the coal can never expire.

America did not, nor does not want force; but she wanted a proper application of that force. Wisdom is not the purchase of a day, and it is no wonder that we should err at the first setting off. From an excess of tenderness, we were unwilling to raise an army, and trusted our cause to the temporary defence of a well-meaning militia. A summer’s experience has now taught us better; yet with those troops, while they were collected, we were able to set bounds to the progress of the enemy, and, thank God! they are again assembling. I always considered militia as the best troops in the world for a sudden exertion, but they will not do for a long campaign. Howe, it is probable, will make an attempt on this city [Philadelphia]; should he fail on this side the Delaware, he is ruined. If he succeeds, our cause is not ruined. He stakes all on his side against a part on ours; admitting he succeeds, the consequence will be, that armies from both ends of the continent will march to assist their suffering friends in the middle states; for he cannot go everywhere, it is impossible. I consider Howe as the greatest enemy the Tories have; he is bringing a war into their country, which, had it not been for him and partly for themselves, they had been clear of. Should he now be expelled, I wish with all the devotion of a Christian, that the names of Whig and Tory may never more be mentioned; but should the Tories give him encouragement to come, or assistance if he come, I as sincerely wish that our next year’s arms may expel them from the continent, and the Congress appropriate their possessions to the relief of those who have suffered in well-doing. A single successful battle next year will settle the whole. America could carry on a two years’ war by the confiscation of the property of disaffected persons, and be made happy by their expulsion. Say not that this is revenge, call it rather the soft resentment of a suffering people, who, having no object in view but the good of all, have staked their own all upon a seemingly doubtful event. Yet it is folly to argue against determined hardness; eloquence may strike the ear, and the language of sorrow draw forth the tear of compassion, but nothing can reach the heart that is steeled with prejudice.

Part I

THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated. Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but “to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER” and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God.

Whether the independence of the continent was declared too soon, or delayed too long, I will not now enter into as an argument; my own simple opinion is, that had it been eight months earlier, it would have been much better. We did not make a proper use of last winter, neither could we, while we were in a dependent state. However, the fault, if it were one, was all our own; we have none to blame but ourselves. But no great deal is lost yet. All that Howe has been doing for this month past, is rather a ravage than a conquest, which the spirit of the Jerseys, a year ago, would have quickly repulsed, and which time and a little resolution will soon recover.

Don’t Let Them Call You Extreme!

Falling SheepThe progressive left establishment is fond of calling those of us who actually believe the constitution is a great outline for running our government, extremists, racists or even, fundamentalists. Using these inflammatory words, they try to appear that they have the reasonable approach to solving the problems they have created.

They see a problem, and whether anyone else does or not, they seek to impose a “solution” that expands the depth of their intrusion into our lives, whether anyone wants that solution or not. It is when we tell them to check to see if their “solution” is permissible under the rules (constitution) our government is supposed function under, we get a paraphrased replay of the banditos in the Treasure of Sierra Madre, “Rules, we don’t need no stinkin’ rules.”

These “rules” were the result of weeks of intense effort by some of the best minds our country had to offer in the 1780s. They discussed. They argued. They prayed. Then they came up with the best plan for governing a country that has ever been devised by man… with the help of divine providence.

Hurricane Central

Hurricane_IreneThe sun is shining here in central Virginia, and I feel a gentle breeze on my face, but things are far from normal for many of us. While we are a hundred miles inland from the coast, a short drive around my neighborhood finds three foot diameter trees across the road, remnants of power poles hanging from the wires they used to support and other wires wrapped around trees. I can only imagine what the good folks at Dominion Power are dealing with closer to the usually bustling Virginia beach.

Beyond the fallen power lines are other hazards in taking to the highways. Many of these fallen power lines are connected to those traffic signals that usually keep us from running into each other. Unfortunately, some people have difficulty grasping the idea that a darkened traffic light should be treated as a four way stop… and they just go cruising through. Must be people from up north somewhere, or maybe an illegal alien or two.

For the most part, though, people are dealing with the whole situation quite well. I met a few neighbors that I hadn’t know before. Having nowhere to go, we took the time to help each other out of our individual plights – like cutting the tree away from around my daughter’s car. Then we actually sat down across a dinner table from people we usually just wave to. There are some good things that came from the storm.

Restoring Courage

Glenn BeckGlenn Beck just wrapped up four days of his Restoring Courage event in Israel. In spite of the great cost and personal risk, some still question his motives. After hearing his final speech by the temple mount, I have to say I really don’t care about his motives if people take his words to heart and begin to act with courage and resolve.

As he said, there is nothing we can teach the citizens of this beleaguered country about the virtue of courage, but there is a lot we can learn about the subject from them. It has been said, correctly, that courage is the one virtue that insures all others.

Courage is does not mean being oblivious to the dangers around us and the consequences of our actions. There is a quote from John Wayne that sums up what this virtue means – “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway!”

Looking at the world around us, we understand the problems will not be solved by the wall flowers or the faint of heart. They must be tackled by those willing to look beyond their own selfish interests and stand for something greater than themselves. To encourage us to be the people that will “saddle up” and get on with the task, Glenn has prepared a Declaration of Rights & Responsibilities. It is reproduced below. Read it, take it to heart and be the person you were created to be.

Why Did We Break From Britain?

DeclarationIndependenceIf most people are asked why our founding fathers broke away from Great Britain, the usual answer is “taxation without representation.” While this was certainly one of the reasons listed in the Declaration of Independence, it was far from being he singular driving force that led these brave men to pledge their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.

It would be helpful to review some of the list of grievances that led them to take this drastic action and risk everything they had, including the families and their own lives.

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

The British monarch refused to take care of issues important to the colonists. Problems needed to be addressed.

Common Sense vs Foolishness

Caesar ObamaOne of Barack Hussein Obama’s most frequent complaints is that those pesky Republicans are placing party and politics over the good of the country. In some ways he is correct. One would have to ask what he is complaining about. He got his two trillion dollar blank check and he won’t have to bamboozle congress for more until after his defeat next year. Yet, somehow it is the Republicans fault that the economy is falling apart.

Yes, many Republicans did place party discipline and allegiance over actions they knew to be good for the country when they fell for the fearful John Boehner’s attempt to look statesmanlike by “compromising” with the administration and Harry Reid and giving the President exactly what he wanted – more money to spend and no further chance to stop it until after the people render their opinion of his presidency. I find the term “compromise” a little odd when one side gives up just about everything they fought for and the other side gets exactly what they wanted. Yet the president needs someone to blame his failure on, since it could not possibly be his policies.

This is what happens when our elected representatives place party loyalty and submission to those in leadership positions over following the wishes of those who put them in office – their bosses. How will they fair when the citizens render an opinion on their performance? Considering the fact that generic incumbents have a re-election rate percentage in the nineties and that they will usually be running against socialistic Democrats whose moral turpitude makes them completely unsuited for any kind of responsible position. The Big Turn Around

Jack MurphyThis past Sunday, we had a special speaker at Grove Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond.   Jack “Murph the Surf” Murphy, champion surfer and world class jewel thief told his amazing story. That such a man is speaking at a conservative evangelical church, let alone, is free and alive, is nothing short of a miracle. He was facing a parole date sometime in 2225. Yet, when the miraculous takes place, the facts don’t count.

He told the story of sitting in the back of prison chapel hearing chaplain telling him and his fellow prisoners that if the best you can do is get up in the morning and put on your prison shirt, you aren’t managing your life very well. That was they day his life began turning around. He might have seen himself among the lowest of the low in society and knew things were not right in his life.

Jack Murphy found God in the midst of thieves, murderers and rapists. He found Him while living in a six by nine foot cell. He became concerned about the prisoners around him – more concerned about them than himself. Omigosh… They Aren’t Spending

dollarsThe Associated Press ran the distressing news that spending is down 0.2 percent. This is the first decrease since September 2009 – so the Commerce Department tells us. No, unfortunately, it is not the federal government they are talking about. It is the American consumer. Not only was there a general pull back on the outflow of dollars, but more specifically, larger purchases like cars and appliances slid as well.

To make matters worse, these selfish citizens are pulling more money out of the economy by increasing personal saving to almost five and a half percent of after tax income. They did this in spite of the abysmal interests rates forced upon us by the Fed trying to meet the government’s insatiable need to borrow.

This combination of less spending and more saving is an indication many are taking what steps they can to protect their families and themselves from the man made disaster called the US economy. They realize nothing is certain anymore. They know “good” jobs could be gone tomorrow… whether through diminished markets, outsourcing or aggressively hostile regulation. Read more of this article »

Dixie County to Defend Open Forum Policy Which Allows Private Ten Commandments Display

Cross City, FL – Today Liberty Counsel filed a Notice of Appeal on behalf of Dixie County, Florida, at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals to defend the county’s Open Forum policy, which allows private displays of law and history, including the Ten Commandments. Liberty Counsel represents Dixie County in a federal lawsuit filed by the ACLU in 2007, after the county permitted a local resident to erect a Ten Commandments monument outside the county courthouse, where other private displays are also allowed.

The U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Florida (Gainesville Division) ruled against Dixie County, ordering the Ten Commandments monument be removed by August 14, claiming it violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. The plaintiff represented by the ACLU does not live in the county, has never lived in the county, and has no intent to ever return to the county. Liberty Counsel will argue on appeal that the case should be dismissed because the plaintiff has no standing to sue. Moreover, Liberty Counsel will awww.LC.orgrgue that the case presents a Free Speech, not an Establishment Clause, issue. Ever since the inception of the Tea Party, those of us who reject Barack Obama’s failed policies, big government, reckless spending, outrageous unemployment, Obamacare, Marxism, etc. have been viciously attacked by the left and called “racists” for no reason other than that we disagree with our far left liberal friends. Of course, those of us actually in the Tea Party know that the “racist” meme is nothing but the pathetic shouts of those who can’t address our legitimate concerns with fact, logic or reason. But regardless of the Black Tea Party members even holding press conferences to stop the “racism” lies from the left, the left refuses to stop their assaults on those who are exercising their rights to believe as they choose.

I have such admiration and respect for the Blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities who have faithfully attended the Tea Party Rallies and, despite harassment and abuse, support the conservative cause wholeheartedly. They take more grief than ANYONE, and I thought I had it bad being a conservative in Hollywood. It always amazes me that the so called “party of tolerance” doesn’t “tolerate” Blacks who have a mind of their own, calling them “Uncle Tom” or “Sellout” or “House Negro.” They have threatened to hang Clarence Thomas, and kill Rep. Allen West and his family, all because they are Blacks that didn’t get the message that they are to cooperate with Obama’s destructive agenda, or suffer vicious attacks. I am always stunned by the hypocrites on the left, who would light their hair on fire if we threatened Obama the way they threaten Black conservatives.

Today I was honored to attend the South Central LA Black Tea Party Rally, led by Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson. Jesse Lee Peterson is president and founder of The Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND), an American group dedicated to a conservative agenda among African Americans. Rev. Peterson is also the Founder and President of BOND Action, Inc., a nonprofit, 501 (c) (4) organization. He has hosted a cable TV program and a syndicated radio talk show. His radio show is cited by Republican groups as an example of a black Republican message, including denunciations of affirmative action as “reverse racism”. He is a member of Choose Black America, an organization of African Americans who oppose illegal immigration to the United States. He is also a member of the advisory board of Project 21, an African American conservative organization, and former board member of the California Christian Coalition. Sinking To Irrelevancy

There are two major forces competing for control of the world. The first is, obviously, militant Islam that wants to bring us all into a world wide caliphate. The people of the world must be brought into submission to the teachings of Mohammed. Their dedication to this cause reaches the suicidal as they reach for global domination. The second is the the push by globalist elites for dominance of the rich and powerful. Their most visible manifestations are the Bilderbergs, Trilateral Commission and the Colonel House created, Council on Foreign Relations. The most common face of this movement is Obama and Clinton idol George Soros.

At this point, the fate of the United States is in play as we are experiencing an influx of Muslim immigrants determined to maintain the type of culture from whence they came. Areas around Detroit have suffered more than most as police in those sections, and others around the country, have abdicated the enforcement of American laws in deference to the sharia laws desired by the recent arrivals.

Economically, we are finding ourselves increasingly at the mercy of banking interests. Many decisions, such as where we live, what schools our children go to, the car we drive and the vacations we take are determined by the availability and cost of credit as our society is increasingly pulled to the to buy now, pay later mentality. We fail to realize that continual debt and obligation to the financial community is a form of slavery.

Hazmats in the House

hazmat_suitJust a few days ago, congress had the opportunity to remove one of the thumbprints of tyranny from the lives of the American people. A vote came up in the House of Representatives that gave the body the ability to actually represent the wishes of the citizens. The vote came and went and the people, who are quickly becoming subjects, were still stuck with the mercury filled light bulbs, loved by the followers of Algore and Company. We still are being forced to have these dangerous, so our government keepers tell us, products in our homes. Hazmats in the house it would seem.

How did this happen in a branch of government supposedly run by Republicans who are supposedly looking out for the well being of the American people? It happened because ten Republicans chose to side with the progressive Democrats to send our last hope crashing down in flames. Two of these people, are from my home state of Virginia… I am so ashamed of what has come of those we were proud to see elected.

This shows that we cannot depend on party labels to insure sanity in the legislature. Although, if someone admits to being a Democrat, we can be pretty sure they will not be on the side of freedom… unless it is freedom to kill your offspring. It does show the wisdom of the saying, “Don’t listen to what people say, watch what they do.” Since politicians are a loquacious bunch, they throw a lot of words at us as a smokescreen and would like us to believe and act on those words. The United Nations Bans Opposition to Its Global Tax Design Meeting

When United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced his plan “to fundamentally transform the global economy — based on low-carbon, clean energy resources,” few realized he was calling for a new global tax to be designed without public scrutiny, but that is exactly what he meant. To thwart it, the UN’s flawed process and its tax design scheme must be exposed.

The UN’s one nation, one vote system has been used since its founding to render the U.S. impotent, regardless of the fact that we are its major financial donor. It is credulous to think that UN reforms could fix its flawed process. Banning the press and global tax opponents from its July 13-14 tax design meeting in Tokyo, Japan, for example, is anathema to a democratic process, but the UN is not a democracy. Rather, its unelected bureaucrats use a “collaborative decision-making process” to reach “consensus” with no debate or expressed opposition. The UN calls it “global governance” and Ban Ki-moon describes how it works: “While we are all in the same boat, not all have a say in how to steer it.”

The tax saga began in earnest last December in Cancun, Mexico when the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, a treaty ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1992, created a Transitional Committee charged with designing a new Green Climate Fund. The Committee is to design the Fund to amass a minimum of $100 billion a year, which is to be approved at the next major meeting of the UNFCCC in Durban, South Africa this December. Help Save Tony The Tiger

tonytargetIf the folks in Washington have there way, I am about to loose an old childhood friend. Tony the Tiger was not only a grrrreat intermission friend during Saturday morning cartoons – back when they were permitted to actually be funny, but he adorned the package of one of my favorite cereals, Sugar Frosted Flakes. Another of my favorites bore the picture of the small screen version Wild Bill Hickock – that was Sugar Corn Pops. Now both products have faded to Frosted Flakes and Corn Pops to the pleasure of our overseers in the nation’s capitol.

Those over educated imbeciles, appointed by the president have taken there research, and, primarily, their opinions to be the gospel of human survival and are preaching it to all who will listen, and imposing it on those who won’t. It is to those who won’t bow down at the altar of governmental desire that they feel the government’s power is needed to persuade them of the error their ways in the area of dietary righteousness.

Rules are being formulated that will compel companies like Kelloggs, Mars, and even the good old Girl Scouts to fall into line with the edicts from above, or loose the ability to advertise the offending products or promote them in any way. As with much activity from the current regime, they are doing this outside the legislative will of the people, or even congress. Read more of this article »

Founders Without Whom America Would Not Exist

James MadisonAs we enter another Independence Day weekend, I think it would be good to remind ourselves of who those men were that counted the cost and paid the price to bring this land of liberty into existence. Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans today seem to have very little–if any–knowledge and appreciation for the sacrifices that our Founding Fathers made in order to birth this great country. We can thank the vast majority of our schools (including the institutions of higher learning), major media, political institutions, and even churches for this egregious embarrassment. Accordingly, I think it fitting that today’s column will attempt to renew in our hearts the respect and reverence that these great men whom we call Founding Fathers so richly deserve.

George Washington

Called “The Father of His Country,” George Washington was, perhaps, the most important man of the founding era. Supernaturally spared during the Indian wars, Washington became the military leader who held the Continental Army together when it was virtually impossible for any man to do so. Without his leadership at Valley Forge and elsewhere, there is absolutely no doubt that the Continental Army would have fallen apart and the fight for independence would have been lost. Our Lives, Our Fortunes and Our Sacred Honor

declarationThis is the day we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  We often talk about the document, but how long has it been since we’ve read the declaration.   It’s good to review the basis for rights we have enjoyed.  It is also good to see what indignities and abuses the colonists had thrust upon them that drove them to rebellion.  Then, finally, we come to the names of the signers… heroic signers who would have died at the end of a hangman’s rope had they not succeeded in breaking free from the British crown.

They were people who just wanted to live their lives and pursue their businesses whether it was agricultural, mercantile or even clerical.  Yet they all answered a patriot’s call to stand up to an unresponsive monarch and demand their freedom.  This is the day we honor these men and all those who fought for their, and our, liberty.
