There are many things going wrong in our wonderful country today, and there have been many solutions proposed. Most are well intentioned and most that show some common sense would work fine to fix the specific problem. However each is akin to putting a band aid on a broken leg. We are being hit with too many different attacks from too many different angles to be content with repairing our country piecemeal. It’s like the Cloward-Piven plan to overwhelm the system.
The father of our country, George Washington, understood “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His mercy, to implore His protection and favor… That great and beneficent author of all good that was, that is, or ever shall be, that we may then unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people.” He was not alone.
I can just hear the “fiscal conservatives” scream bloody murder almost as loudly as the atheist progressives now running the country and our lives. Many think all we have to do get our financial situation in order and things will be just fine. It is, unfortunately, not too surprising with the way the educational system has become a materialistic indoctrination operation and our courts have done their best to remove understanding of the Christian bent of most of our founders from the public knowledge. They believe this does no harm. They actually believe there is a real benefit to removing religion, especially Christianity from the public sphere. Then, they also think we can fix the problems ourselves… or really, themselves. Read more of this article »
The inescapable essence of liberal-progressivism is philosophical materialism: the belief that spiritual religion is ignorance and that, as Karl Marx proclaimed, people’s nature is determined (and can be re-shaped) by the physical conditions in which they live and work and by the impact of the political state’s laws and regulations.
A reader posted the following comment regarding The Irresponsible Nanny State.
I missed the part in Heather MacDonald’s critique of Mayor Boomberg’s effort to encourage young men where she said that the program was “Godless.”
While she was caustic, sarcastic and defeatist about making any effort to change the ethos of the inner city situation, I did not see her level the charge that religion was not part of the proposed program.
Help us out here, Tom, and tell us how making an effort to help out young men is anti-Christian.
A lot of readers may take offense at this question about their sincerity in wanting to stop the slaughter of innocent babies. How could this be? You vote for the candidates who promise to put an end to the grizzly practice. If you are like most, you even pray about it from time to time. If you are really unusual, you may have picketed a facility once or twice.
As Dr. Phil would ask, “How’s that working out for you?” The last I checked, young lives are still being destroyed, and members of the medical profession, those who have sworn to do no harm, are making a nice living doing it. Obviously this approach has not gotten the job done.
For those who have carried the battle to the enemy consistently over the years, congratulations, but as you are painfully aware, the job is not done. You’ve seen people get excited about the struggle and join in for a few days to a few weeks, but then they disappear like the morning mist… and the job is not done. Read more of this article »
In watching the debate of Republican presidential candidates I saw a stage full of essentially decent people. Any of these people would be better than the current White House occupant. There are some who would be somewhat better than the Chosen One, and some who would be a breath of fresh air and would bring the hope and change our country was promised, but never received. Then there are those who fall somewhere in between.
What was clear is that within this group are some pretty good ideas. Then there are some pretty bad ideas as well. Some appear presidential and some would be very good advisers. Observing each of these candidates, I thought back to the early days of GOPAC where one of the primary teachings for those looking to run for office was that you run because you want to DO something, not because you want to BE something. I get the sinking feeling in listening to some that they just want to BE president.
At the risk of being misinterpreted as having made up my mind who would be the best choice to give Barack Hussein Obama the boot, I would offer the some thoughts on what I’ve seen. Read more of this article »
Let’s not forget that yesterday’s re-call elections in Wisconsin were all about the liberal-progressive presumption that public-employee labor unions are entitled to substantially higher wages and benefits than private-sector workers, even at the cost of bankrupting states and cities.
During election campaigning in Wisconsin we were treated to the spectacle of liberal-progressives proclaiming, with sanctimonious hypocrisy, that their re-call referenda were democracy in action. They hoped that the rest of us would forget the mob action of labor union thugs who criminally invaded the state capitol building to prevent the real democratic exercise of voting for proposed legislation. They also hoped that we would forget Democrat/Socialist legislators’ illegal refusal to present themselves for a legally convened session of the Wisconsin legislature. Read more of this article »
Thousands of Christians joined Texas Governor Rick Perry in Houston Saturday as he and many others recognized the failure of the solutions of man and looked to the creator of man. It is doubtful any of the formerly mainstream media had any comprehension of what was taking place.
History records that when an impasse was reached during the deliberations that produced our constitution, they turned to prayer for the wisdom and good will to complete their task. Yet today, this seems to be a rather quaint solution to the sophisticated elites. These are the same sophisticated elites that have had such a huge hand in creating our problems.
The assembled throng was encouraged toward personal repentance as the first step to restoring our nation. Most of those attending and those watching the video feed are well aware of their flaws and the need to make changes in their own lives. It’s not that we can achieve perfection, but without recognizing our own shortcomings and confessing them, we are in no position to intercede for our nation.
Watching the British Gran Prix this past Sunday, I observed a microcosm of the European approach to life compared to the way we do things, at least for now, in the US of A. First was the tendency of the governing body to penalize and offense to its’ sensibilities, even if it is obviously due to human error… kind of like our bureaucrats in Washington – the EPA in particular.
A McLaren driven by Jenson Button had the misfortune of being waved out of the pits before a defective impact wrench could be replaced and the right front tire secured. He headed off back to the track, but got no further than the end of pit lane. His day was done, his weekend wasted, but after the race, to add insult to injury, his team was handed a major fine in some kind of European currency for unsafe release from the pit box. The good old boys from NASCAR simply make the team come back and fix the problem. That, in the highly competitive world of stock car racing, is regarded as penalty enough – if he could make it back in. It is understood that none of these professionals consciously sends out a car in unsafe condition – there is no need for official sanctions.
[The picture may have been photoshopped, but it carries the message of some things that are taking place in both evangelical and mainline churches. This article only skims the surface and I would recommend that readers looking for more information Google and Bing the work Chrislam for more information.]
To many who have never taken the Bible too seriously, a Christian is a Christian is a Christian. They do not grasp the concept of false teachers that look good and smell good, but are wrong… dead wrong. There is a growing phenomenon in some churches go beyond interfaith community improvement activity to attempts to harmonize Christianity and Islam.
For want of a better term, this results of this effort is called Chrislam after the syncretism that began in Nigeria around 1980. There are those who see similarities between Christianity, Islam and even Judaism. There are similar moral teachings, all are monotheistic and have end time expectations.
Because of this some churches are have been sharing services with Korans in the pew racks next to the Bibles. Last September a Cordova Tennessee church opened its doors to the Memphis Islamic Center for Ramadan prayers. The Islamic Circle of North America is holding its regular Friday prayers at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria Va. A spokesperson says it’s part of being neighborly and developing relationships, even though they are taking heat for it. Read more of this article »
For those not privileged to live in central Virginia, it may come as a surprise that the homosexual flag is flying just below the stars and stripes in front of the Richmond Federal Reserve building. This is the same unaccountable Federal Reserve that manipulates our money supply and interest rates for the benefit of someone… not usually the average citizens.
Now, as they tell us, at the supposed request of a few employees, the entire organization is standing behind the emblem of the homosexual community, with the blessing of the local president. Those moving beyond acceptance of their lifestyle choices are insisting on approval and looking for backing by the bullies as if they don’t have the confidence in themselves and their life decisions.
As most readers know by now, the name, Federal Reserve, does not mean it is any part of the national government… any more than the Second Bank of the United States – which Andrew Jackson killed. Or for that matter the previous incarnation, the First Bank of the United States. Every one of these central banks was privately owned by wealthy investors – some Americans, some not – for the benefit of the moneyed classes and the banking industry. Read more of this article »
Over the recent years there has been a trend in academia to produce accounts of the lives of the heroes of our history that show them in less than favorable light. While we may have been guilty of embellishment on occasion, the pendulum has swung back the other way – with a vengeance. On the surface it appears that this is simply the result of academic arrogance as members of the ivory tower community endeavor to show themselves smarter that the average schlub who works for a living. It has the added benefit of giving the writer something unique to publish in a world where books and articles in print are a major measure of professional status and survival.
However, when we look at the primary targets of these studies, we find a pattern that reflects the worldview of the denizens of the ivy covered halls. The founders who stood and fought for individual liberty and responsibility need to be taken off their pedestals and reduced to the level of the political agitators of our day. Better yet, if they can be shown as scoundrels, their inspiration and ideals can be further discredited.
Looked at from this angle, is it any wonder that men like Washington, Jefferson, Henry and Madison have been reduced to a band of rich white slave owners by those who fancy themselves to be intellectuals. The fact that many in their number were looking for peaceful ways to end the institution is ignored. The “intelligentsia” have a real problem with one man owning another, as do most readers of this, yet they have no problem at all with a few unquestioned and unaccountable leaders virtually controlling the people of an entire nation. Many years ago, after returning to college with a number of years experience in the real world, I had the privilege of sitting through a class named “Man In God’s World”. As it turned out, this class had more impact on my world view than any event before or since. Reviewing some of the things I learned may help the reader understand why being a Christian is not a Sunday morning thing… but it colors, or should color, our view and approach to everything around us, including our interactions with society.
Using Jesus as our model, we find a life that was filled with pointing everyone to the Father and teaching spiritual values and lessons. But he did not stop there. He healed the sick, restored sight to the blind and raised the dead. He rescued a woman about to be stoned by an angry mob. He taught us how to get along with our neighbors, how to handle our money and how to relate to our government. His life and actions showed concern for every area of life, not just the afterlife.
Some Christians believe that if they go to church on Sunday and get their ticket punched, what they do the rest of the week doesn’t make that much difference… as long as it’s nothing too bad. If they don’t kill anyone, or throw widows out of their homes… they will be alright. Is this the case? Are there rules for life? Do they apply to everyone, everywhere? Read more of this article »
Those of us who hold hard core conservative beliefs will often find ourselves thinking of unreliable Republicans as RINOs. To the three readers not familiar with the term it stands for Republican In Name Only. Many fine examples of this designation are Lindsey Graham, Richard Lugar, and the wicked witches of Maine. While it is true that these often deviate from Republican orthodoxy, the title relies on a central assumption that we must give serious consideration.
The assumption is that the normal Republican is a small government conservative. Unfortunately, this may just be wishful thinking on our part. The thing we must remember is that before Barry Goldwater came along, people like the progressive Nelson Rockefeller represented a large portion of the party. Later Pat Robertson brought many Christian conservatives into the party. Ron Paul has more recently brought many young libertarians into the fold. Yet few of these newcomer groups have managed to make deep inroads into the power structure. The old guard still clings to power.
There is often a significant gap between the party rank and file and those making important decisions. Yet their rhetoric is supportive of the common man and his liberty. They even welcome the support of the Tea Party. Unfortunately, their actions often are more for the benefit of the wealthy donors and special interests… just with a little more subtlety than the Democrats. We need only look at the recent selection of RNC Chairman Reince Priebus who was thought to be best able to smooze donors and raise money. True, money is important but the leadership continuously subordinates the desires and welfare of the poor schlepps who take to the streets and get the job done on election day to the wishes of those who pay the bills. It seems that all the fussing done by those opposed to the massive government debt has drawn little attempt at rebuttal from those who believe they have better use for our money, and Chinese money, than those of us who are paying the bills do. They talk of creating jobs by the thousands, while jobs are lost by the millions, but to the progressive elites, it’s only a matter of degree… mere details. And they don’t see the proportional differences as being catastrophic, after all, it is not they who are out of work and losing their homes.
Those who value traditional America, the right, for want of a better term, see the debt as destroying jobs and with them, the American middle class. Making this argument with the progressives on the left yields little more than a yawn – just like complaining to an enviro about higher fuel prices. Of course they know their nefarious schemes will destroy the middle class. Why do we think they are pursuing the course of fiscal terrorism in the first place?
Since we all seem to be in agreement, why the acrimony? Why the hostility? I guess it comes down to whether or not this destruction of individual prosperity and independence is a good thing. Patrick Henry, known for his “give me liberty or give me death” approach to life would say it is a bad thing – a very bad thing. Many of us would agree. Our President and his henchmen would not! With all the trouble and strife in the world, sometimes we just need to smile a bit to keep our humanity. It is particularly satisfying when those who would do us harm unintentionally make our point for us.
Trying to mock traditional Americans, Norman Lear put words in Archie Bunker’s mouth that accidentally echoed some areas of truth. For those readers too young to have known Archie and Edith, enjoy this little introduction. They came into our homes every week with a generous dose of working class wisdom.
Rock and Roll Revolution, almost a “theme song” by the Who.
I like Country and Folk songs better than Rock, yet this song has a powerful message in the lyrics if you listen to the words beyond the screaming and throbbing Rock music genre.
From Wikipedia…
“Won’t Get Fooled Again“ is a song by the rock band The Who. Written by Pete Townshend, it combines guitar power chords with heavily processed organ and synthesizer sounds to create a textured, atmospheric introduction that explodes into the verse. It tells of a “revolution of revolutions” in an endless cycle, where “the change it had to come, we knew it all along” but each successive new regime turns out to be just like the old one, so that straight away it’s time once again to ”pick up my guitar and play, just like yesterday, then I’ll get on my knees and pray we don’t get fooled again”. I just read an interview with new RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, and, while he seems to be a good, dedicated man, it left me somewhat concerned about the future of our country. His predecessor, Michael Steele also is a good man, and he tried to do a good job. Yet, even if the new guy gets it all right, we need to be sure it is the job that needs to be done.
He has been hailed as the answer to the party’s financial woes. Woes that stem from the $23 million dollar debt left by the man who held the job before him. Somehow Steele is blamed for this financial fiasco as if his lack of fund raising skills was solely responsible for this debacle. Let’s think about this for a bit.
The Republican Party is the one that trumpets its dedication to fiscal responsibility. The thrust of the party line is that our national government running up unconcionable debt is the result of two factors – the amount of revenue and the amount spent. Yet, the party finds itself struggling under a load of debt… debt not all incurred by the former chairman. Like a less than successful football team, they seek to change their fortunes by changing the coach. The new guy seems to be doing fairly well as his efforts during his short tenure has reduced that debt by 2 million dollars. Read more of this article »
Pensacola, FL – Today, Federal District Court Judge M. Casey Rodgers granted in part a Preliminary Injunction in favor of twenty-four clients of Liberty Counsel, and granted a request for hearing on their remaining claims. The case attracted national attention when the ACLU attempted to punish and even jail local school administrators and staff for praying over their meal. The ACLU pressured the Santa Rosa County (Florida) School Board into a Consent Decree that unconstitutionally forbids all manner of religious expression at school, right down to the mere uttering of the words “God Bless.” After vindicating the school officials charged with criminal contempt for prayer, Liberty Counsel filed suit to invalidate the unconstitutional Consent Decree. The School District joined hands with the ACLU in defending the Consent Decree, and both asked the Court to dismiss Liberty Counsel’s challenge. Read more of this article »
There are several videos circulation around the internet where Barack Obama claims he must work for a collective salvation to obtain his own. Some show his speeches, some audio clips from books he claims to have written, but they all carry the same message of an aberrant Christianity. He is also known to have been under the influence of Jeremiah Wright for over twenty years – and when that association became a political liability – he began saying “Jeremiah whooo?”
However, he did not forsake the “social gospel” teaching as Wright was quickly replaced by Jim Wallis, as the president continues to work out his collective salvation with arrogance and disdain. Obama claims to have found Jesus under the teaching of the recently rejected Wright.
However the Jesus Rev. Wright presents is far from the one of the Bible. John 10:10 says “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (NIV) Wright’s Jesus says “You have been given a government that shall meet your needs – preferably with resources that belong to someone else.
There are over 300,000 evangelical Christian churches in America. That equates to tens of millions of professing Christians and hundreds of thousands of Christian ministers. Think of the church sanctuaries, educational facilities, schools, camps, radio broadcasts, television programs, colleges, seminaries, preschools, youth retreats, etc., that grace America. In some communities there is a church building on just about every corner. In spite of this massive exposure to the modern Church, however, the nation has been left virtually unaffected, uninfluenced, and unimpressed.
In fact, one could make the argument that while America’s churches have experienced unprecedented growth in membership and wealth during the last half-century, the country as a whole has simultaneously nose-dived into corruption, deception, socialism, and even an increasing federal despotism. How can this be? Where is the influence for God, for good, and for liberty from these hundreds of thousands of churches and multiplied millions of professing Christians–not to mention billions of dollars raised and spent by these religious institutions?
For all intents and purposes, the modern American Church is pathetically impotent! Not only has the American Church failed to influence the nation to any significant degree, it has proven itself to be ineffective in influencing its own membership! Read more of this article »
Barack Obama’s election to the highest Office in our Country is undeniably historic; he will forever be known as the first black man elected President of the United States. And we’re the generation that finally surpassed this racial threshold signifying how far we’ve come as a Nation. His election reflects the fulfillment of what Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed about so many years ago, where all men would be judged only by the content of their character and no longer by the color of their skin… as it should be.
Obama’s election is also historic for what he can uniquely do in the job, as no other President before him. Having won the highest platform of power and influence in the land, he could bring closure to the wounds of racism in America, and take us to the next level of rising above the sins of the past.
I grieved the night Obama won the Presidency, for two reasons, the second dovetailing the first, and neither had anything to do with objecting to a black man in the White House; on the contrary. I 100% do not agree with his ideology, his policies, or his desire to “fundamentally transform America.” I am not disappointed or surprised by his Presidency; it’s exactly what I expected and feared, and therefore why I grieved – I knew what was to come and didn’t want to go there. Now that we’re here in the thick of it, I feel all I never wanted to feel. I became part of the TEA Party to express that. The dovetail is I felt robbed of the joy of fully celebrating the first black president because I couldn’t celebrate Obama being the president. A black president is something I had longed and prayed for America and always believed I would see in my lifetime, just not someone as far left as Obama. Read more of this article »
The way we define ‘human’ determines our view of self, others, relationships, institutions, life, and future. Many problems in human experience are the result of false and inaccurate definitions of humankind premised in man-made religions and humanistic philosophies.
Human knowledge is a fraction of the whole universe. The balance is a vast void of human ignorance. Human reason cannot fully function in such a void; thus, the intellect can rise no higher than the criteria by which it perceives and measures values.
Humanism makes man his own standard of measure. However, as with all measuring systems, a standard must be greater than the value measured. Based on preponderant ignorance and an egocentric carnal nature, humanism demotes reason to the simpleton task of excuse-making in behalf of the rule of appetites, desires, feelings, emotions, – and glands. The Old World method of measuring human value was, and still is, by the group. Whether tribe, clan, city-state, color, ethnic, or gender, the Old World, ancient and modern, measures by the plural unit. Individuals had and have no value of themselves but only as they were and are part of a collective.
When Y’shua Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the Temple at the Holy of Holies parted from the top down. The individual believer in the congregation had, for the first time, a face-to-face, one-on-one relation with his Creator. The Creator, Himself, had validated each individual for the first time. Thus, the Individual became the cornerstone for later human value measuring systems: socio-political, philosophical, religious, educational, economic, etc., henceforth and forever. Western Civilization, America, English Law, civil Rights, the ‘democratic’ process, etc., all sprang from that single event. (Greco-Roman ‘democracies’ were 95% slave throughout their entire histories.) Biblical principles are still today the foundation under Western Civilization and the American way of life.
Many social systems attempt to borrow ideas of “democracy” without the basic premise in The Individual. Such a system is only superficially and temporarily ‘democratic.’ The cornerstone of the democratic process is The Individual and the cornerstone of the value of The Individual is Y’shua Jesus! It is not possible to have one without the other. There is only One Source – there is no other. Read more of this article »
“This is a saaad day for the women of Virginia” was the sound bite that was played and replayed on radio and television stations around the Commonwealth of Virginia on the day that the General Assembly voted to require abortion clinics to adhere to much the same standards as hospitals. Forget the fact that women have died because facilities were not adequate to handle the emergencies of an abortion gone wrong… that was a small price to pay for the convenience of easily killing one’s offspring.
In some ways, it is kind of useless trying to make such places safer, since, by definition half the people who come onto the premises die before they leave. Yet, it is a step in the right direction. How, one would ask, is making abortions safer a step in the right direction. The pro-death crowd understood immediately – mourning the fact that the new regulations would cause more than half the of Virginia’s clinics to close their doors.
This may be the first time that the progressive left recognized the reality that heavy regulations close business and increase unemployment. We can hope that the lesson, that put the squeeze on one of their sacred cows, will carry over to other areas of government action. We can also hope that they care about business and workers who are not about perpetuating this American holocaust. Read more of this article »
[The Virginia General Assembly passed a bill that requires abortion clinics to meet the same standards as hospitals. It will never make them safe for babies, but it is moving in the right direction.]
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s Statement on Passage of Abortion Clinic Safety Bill, SB924
Today, a long, hard-fought battle for women’s health and dignity has finally been won in the State Senate.
Just this afternoon, the Democrat controlled Virginia State Senate passed a bill which will require abortion clinics to meet hospital-style safety standards. This will mean that any abortion clinic which performs more than 5 abortions in a month will need to meet safety standards comparable to any other clinic which performs out-patient procedures.
For over 25 years, Virginia abortion clinics have not been held to minimal health and safety standards. As a result, women who walk into these clinics are often not treated with the care and respect that any human being deserves.
I came across this video explaining several things about Islam that are not widely known. As with many other subjects, I would urge the reader to do their own research, even reading the Koran as seeing something for yourself is more convincing than reading or watching what someone else has to say.
Even though this was not prepared by someone with a Christian worldview, they have been able to gather information and present it in a coherent package. Their message is not an easy one to accept, but we must consider it seriously if we are to survive as a nation of free people.
Pray for the ability to discern the difference between fact and discern the difference between truth and propaganda… no matter where that path leads.

Newspapers, along with TV anchors and infobabes love to tell stories of dissension within the ranks of the Republican Party. They enjoy pouring fuel on any kind of sparks, trying to fan them into a blaze that negates the effectiveness of any politician not pushing progressive Democrat values. The problem is that there is some basis for the stories about factions within the Grand Old Party.
To those on the outside, the differences may appear to be simple personality conflicts or random loyalty fights. The fact is it goes much deeper than that. There are really two distinct groups within the party. When things are going well, it’s hard to tell one from the other. However the recent electoral victories by tea party candidates have deepened these differences and peeled back the veneer of smiling faces.
The first type is the structural Republican. With these, it is a tradition and they may have been in the party all their lives. They feel a kind of proprietary interest in it. They would vote for anyone as long as they have an R by their name on the ballot and will continue to support them no matter how far they stray from party orthodoxy. Because of their party orientation, these are usually the people who show up at party functions and usually run for party offices.
Two arks preserved the sanctity of God’s creation. One Ark preserved God’s presence; the other ark was a covenant between God and man to save creation. Both Arks dealt with the preservation of their atmospheres.
Today, we are now at a point in world history where, once again, the consequences of our (mankind) actions are about to backfire on us with regional and global catastrophic results.
Biblical prophecy teaches us that regionalism is an inevitability in terms of geo-political groups that will be merged to create the ‘10 toes in King Nebuchadnezzar‘s dream, which Daniel interpreted. This dream as detailed in the 2nd and 7th chapter of the Book of Daniel, tells us of the merging of national powers for world dominance all the way up to our present time.
Most theologians understand Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to prophecy of a revived Roman Empire. Others consider the significance of a fast growing Islamic threat that will also be ‘hell bent’ on world dominance. Rather than getting into a lively theological debate over the exactitude of the toes, I think that it is more important to note that the foot will be anti-Semitic and aimed at kicking and destroying Zion. The President has made his spectacular speech, and, by generally accepted political standards, it was a success in that he said something to annoy just about everyone. This thinking presupposes that compromise – moving to the middle – is always a good thing. It’s the product of the belief that all points of view are equally valid and meeting in the middle is something that helps everyone move their agenda forward.
The problem is that when you have completely opposite views, compromise will will do neither side justice. Today, we have a government run by orthodox Keynesians who believe infusions of public cash are necessary to keep the economy running on all cylinders. These people have told us time and time again that more and more spending is the answer to our troublesome times, even if we have to watch our debt skyrocket to do it.
There opponents tell us that excessive government spending saps the market of capital needed to create businesses that hire workers. Then we have some, who say they are in league with the reduced spending, smaller government crowd who, enter into negotiations with the big spenders, already looking for a common ground compromise… so they have given significant ground before the battle has even begun. All the other side has to do is make more and more outrageous demand, depending on the “reasonable” conservatives, usually calling themselves “fiscal” conservatives, desiring to distinguish themselves from “principled” conservatives, to give in so as to give the appearance of a statesmanship that is above mere politics. Washington, DC – As hundreds of thousands of citizens and volunteers gather in DC to protest the preborn killing of American children, President Obama greeted their arrival with a public statement recommitting to continue abortion. As estimates suggest that last November, America exceeded 53 million people who were not allowed to continue living because of Roe v. Wade, this anniversary should be hallowed in their memory, not rededicated to additional killing of innocent children.
Obama said, “Today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters. I am committed to protecting this constitutional right. I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption. And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”
In all the wars in American history combined, from the Revolution to Afghanistan, we have lost approximately 910,000 people. However, in 38 years we have lost about 53 million children to abortion. We lose more children to abortion each day than we lost in all the tragedies on September 11, 2001. About 98 percent of abortions are done for convenience unrelated to health. Less than 2 percent of abortions are done for serious health reasons, rape or incest. Minorities have also been hit hard by abortion. African-Americans account for about 12 percent of the population, but 37 percent of the 1.3 million abortions each year. Latinos make up about 15 percent of the population, yet account for about 22 percent of the annual number of abortions. Read more of this article »
