In a search for attention and relevance, Gay Liberation Network co-founder Andy Thayer announced to those in the world who cared, “We are urging a boycott of the Salvation Army because it uses its selective interpretation of the Bible to promote discrimination against LGBT people in employment benefits and leadership positions within the Army.” Unwilling to risk the embarrassment of an empty press conference, the word was leaked by way of an inauspicious email to failed opinion maker, msnbc.com.
This is a tantrum by a member of the homosexual community that generally looks to a big brother government that gets it’s resources by confiscating the possessions the taxpayers. We need to compare this to the organization they are attacking, the Salvation Army. It helps kids in the cities. It helps victims of natural disasters. It helps prisoners. In many ways, the Salvation Army performs the task of being God’s hands and feet in our society and works off of the voluntary donations of many Americans.
There is the rub. The same God that tells us that true religion is looking out for the least and hurting in our society, also tells us that it is an abomination for a man to lie with another man as a man lies with a woman. (Leviticus 20:13) This is the thing that Thayer and his friends like blogger Bil (with one “l”) Browning cannot tolerate. It is the light of truth that shows the lie of the secular humanist assertion that same sex relationships are natural and should be accepted by everyone… even if it is against their will and religious convictions.

Washington, DC – President Obama’s proposed “American Jobs Act” will repeal charitable tax deductions for certain taxpayers. Eliminating tax deductions would allegedly raise approximately $400 billion to support Obama’s government stimulus bill and would, in turn, significantly decrease the amount of charitable donations, while increasing government glut. Charities play a significant role in the every-day functioning and survival of Americans nationwide, and Obama is essentially seeking to replace those charities with more government.
Obama’s “jobs bill” would mean that taxpayers with adjusted gross incomes over $250,000 for married couples filing jointly (or $200,000 for single taxpayers) may deduct only 28 percent of the value of the charitable contribution. The limitation would affect itemized deductions and certain other tax expenditures that would otherwise reduce taxable income in the 36 or 39.6 percent tax brackets. A similar limitation also would apply under the alternative minimum tax. This section would be effective for taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2013.

It’s been interesting observing the Massachusetts Senate race these past several days. Out of nowhere, Scott Brown has become not just a challenge to Martha Coakley but could actually win this race. Big shots from both parties have jumped into the fray. Even Obama was in Massachusetts today stumping for Coakley and Foxnews says that he has become the “point man” for her.
Dems have begun circling the wagons to protect the president against the embarrassment of Coakley losing and are making arrangements to bypass the reconciliation process by sending the Senate health care bill directly to the House for them to vote on. This would sidestep the need for returning the reconciled bill to the Senate for further debate where a newly-elected Brown would be the deciding factor in a filibuster against the bill.
That all being said, something was blatantly familiar about how the Dems have been conducting their campaign against Brown. They have spent the majority of their time assuming that the people of Massachusetts WANT what they want and need to simply trust Obama and the Dems to do what’s right. They attack Brown with innuendos and name-calling and villainous connections to far right wing groups in an attempt to stir the emotions of the voters against this man. Read more of this article »
