The old Soviet Union was well known for vodka, borscht and re-education camps. As awful as the first two sound, the third was far worse as citizens who did not tow the party line and were perceived to be a threat to the government were sent off to have their thinking adjusted. To the American mind, steeped in the concept of free speech, the idea of punishment for unpopular “thought crimes” convinced those of us who lived through the cold war of the righteousness of our cause.

Back during the poisonous sixties, radicals were fond of telling us “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism”, misattributed to Thomas Jefferson – perhaps to give them some undeserved credibility. These same people, now grown older and having wormed their way into positions of power are now singing a different tune. Many of these were professional students who never left the ivy covered halls of academia. They never learned about life in the real world and have done little but let their disastrous ideas percolate until they are now in a position to execute them.

Augusta State University student Jennifer Keeton has run into the work of these guardians of secular humanistic doctrine. She has been told that, to complete her masters degree in counseling, she must set aside her Christian beliefs about homosexuality and submit to a re-education program… or be expelled from the university. The university, of all places, purports to be a place of acceptance and open discussion, yet there there are some ideas and concepts just too radical for these old time radicals.

While the mortar board set is fond of telling us that there are no absolutes, that each person is responsible for finding their own “truth”, they are absolutely sure that some “truths” just are not acceptable enough to be explored, or even talked about in polite company. In spite of their high sounding “academic freedom” rhetoric, there is an “absolute truth” they live by. That truth is no one can criticize or question the validity of the homosexual experience.

Fortunately, with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund, Jennifer Keeton is fighting back by suing the school that will accept deviant life styles, almost every form or religion and atheism, but not Christianity. There is a clear case of religious discrimination… the kind we are told is illegal. This young lady is standing up and fighting the good fight. We wish her well, and we all need to keep her in our prayers.

The financial regulatory bill recently passed by the house provides for an “Office of Minority and Women Inclusion” for each of the agencies created by the legislation. That is not one office… but one for each agency. Even setting aside for a moment the concern that such a scheme is not a valid approach, can anyone say, “duplicated service and duplicated expense”. It does though, help to maximize the number of new federal employees, probably union employees. However, taking Ronald Reagan’s admonition that, “The closest thing to eternal life on earth is a government program”, this policy is even more disastrous to an over-leveraged economy and the tax paying citizens.

We can only hope that we see enough change in Washington to defund such programs in the absence of the possibility of an actual repeal. At a time when our country is more divided than at any time in the recent past, we do not need one more, or multiplied numbers of agencies designed to assign quotas and pit one group of citizens (usually) against another.

The United States has long been known as a “melting pot” where newcomers to our country were integrated into a more or less common culture with common language and aspirations. Immigrants came here, and believed they were coming to the promised land. Most saw an opportunity filled land and they wanted to get their piece of the pie. Our country prospered as more and more legal immigrants joined the pursuit of the American Dream. This is not surprising as our creator knew the value of unity when he said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” (Genesis 11:1-9 NIV)

Unfortunately, somewhere around forty years ago, academics and overly ambitious political types decided they could garner more influence by pushing the idea of multiculturalism. It’s the old strategy of divide and conquer. From a common effort to keep our country strong, we moved to parochial society primarily looking out for group benefits, even if it did damage to the rest of our American brothers and sisters. This fragmentation of society can be defined by memberships in unions, or some sort of racial or possibly social group. Instead of working to create an expanding economy driven by entrepreneurial effort and expertise, we have retreated to a zero-sum game where everyone’s gain is offset by someone else’s loss.

This is a plan destined for failure. It is a plan that, by definition, makes our citizens jealous of any gains by any group they don’t belong to. We have become suspicious of our government and suspicious of our fellow Americans… anyone not like ourselves. Ivory tower promoters of the multicultural curse on our land live in the dream world where the words of Karl Marx, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need,” actually make sense. They totally misunderstand the human nature that will cause men (and women) to create and innovate when they can reap rewards for their ingenuity. This same human nature will slam the brakes on innovative creativity if people see the fruits of their labors snatched away before they can be enjoyed.

The lack of economic understanding on the part of the national government, concerning the creation of wealth they intend to confiscate to fund their grandiose schemes is astounding. We cannot continue to carve out benefits for unions, ethnic groups and now, illegal groups. We have an administration obsessed with the common political practice of creating focused benefits combined with broad base financing to the point where the broad based financing consists, not of the taxpayers, but the taxpayers grand children.

I have been learned many years ago that when you find yourself in a hole… you stop digging. The Obama administration, already way over its head in debt, is even bringing in a bigger backhoe to dig even deeper. They are catering to the most extreme and least productive segments of our society and their base, promising all sorts of benefits at the expense of other segments of the population. This is a situation guaranteed to create dissension and fragmentation of our society… possibly even violence when the money runs out or the citizens tire of being financially raped.

Our country is in trouble and this condition will not be cured until we send the multiculturalists packing and return to our founding values of individual responsibility and unity of purpose. We cannot remain fragmented and stand strong. We cannot rob Peter to pay Paul… even though the current plan has the complete support of Paul. It is time to review Ben Franklin’s sage advice that “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

by Kelsey Hilderbrand

Let’s try something new shall we? I got this idea after spending a weekend with my wife’s family. The Andersons are great group of folks who I enjoy spending time with, however, they are about as politically divided a family as I have ever seen. This is not just your standard “this is my view, this is your view lets have a drink and discuss it” type of family. Politics are a sport and are argued as vehemently as two teams fighting like the score is tied with 30 seconds to go in the championship game. Based on my wife’s request, I try to stay out of the circle of engagement, but every now and then I am drawn into an argument. My party affiliation is no secret as I am a registered independent, but my viewpoints are anything but neutral. I am, as my brother-in-law has labeled me, “a right-wing-nut-job”. I am devoutly conservative with my ideals and hence am a target for the “left-wing-kooks”. More times than not, I am challenged to defend the actions of my party affiliations or my ideologies. This has grown tiresome, as my arguments are often dismissed by the those who do not like to hear what I have say or are interrupted prior to my conclusions, so I am going to make an offer of unusual stature.

I do not believe the Republican party has the answer to every problem, nor do I always agree with they way they handle situations, however, I almost always find myself in disagreement with the Democrats and their ideology. Above all, I am searching for what I believe is best for AMERICA. I do not care about political affiliations, but I believe in upholding the ideals of our Founding Fathers and the integrity of the Red, White, and Blue. I do not believe I can effectively call myself a supporter of Americanism if I do not listen to both sides of the argument, likewise, I do not give much weight to an someone’s opinion who does not let me finish a statement without interjecting, arguing, or being otherwise “closed-minded”.

So here is the golden opportunity the Left Wing has been waiting for. I agree to listen to your arguments and give you a chance to convince me that the liberal ideology of the Democratic Party is better for America. Be prepared, because I will ask questions as to why along with a request for supporting data in most cases to ensure clarification. The beauty of doing this in writing is the simple fact that points can be made without allowing emotional interruption to occur. If I am convinced following the discussions that the Democratic Agenda is of betterment for the US, I will then support it. I will list the issues where I draw challenge and invite comment to help clarify my understanding.

At the end, you will have either convinced me to join you or solidly cemented my thoughts of conservatism. This is not an opportunity for you to tell me about what you do not like about the Republicans but to explain your own positions. Here are my points of contention with the Liberal Ideology.

1. Gun Control: How does the Democratic Party portray increased gun control as a benefit to me? As a gun dealer and a gun owner, I have seen the Democratic Party continue to demonize the legal gun owners of America with half-truths and doomsday projections (see Sarah Brady comments on the expiration of the 1994 AWB). How does this proclaimed goal of eliminating private ownership of firearms as well as the destruction of the 2nd Amendment advance society to the betterment of the United States?

2. Taxes: How do higher taxes make things better on me? It appears to me as a taxpayer who works at one job and who runs his own business, that the Democratic Party is bent on taxing me at every turn. Here in Washington State, I am continually tapped for B&O taxes, Sales Taxes, Surcharge Taxes, use taxes, phone taxes, utility taxes, car taxes, registration taxes, gas taxes, death taxes, property taxes, taxes, taxes, taxes, taxes. It seems to me when it comes time to increase taxes, the democratic party is in the lead saying things like “This is only a few dollars a year for the average person”or “the death tax is way of repaying society for the good life you have lead”(Please see comments by Gov. Christine Gregoire), but when an opportunity arises to cut taxes there are screams of bloody-murder followed by news reports of government collapsing without this revenue. I already work the first 112 days of the year just to pay my tax responsibility. How much more is needed and how does such a tax burden help advance society and America?

3. Same Sex marriage. I am against same sex marriage. I do not believe it is a proper or natural behavior furthermore, after actually investigating the medical information on it, I do not believe it is a healthy lifestyle. According to the CDC in 2003, the homosexual lifestyle reduces the average participant lifespan by 25 years or more. I will not support legislation to govern what goes on in one’s bedroom between consenting adults, but I am strongly against the government “endorsing” such behavior. From my perspective, I have seen the Political parties clearly divided. Republicans are against and Democrats are for. How does the Democratic perspective benefit society and how does it benefit America?

4. The use of military force in Iraq. This is a major area for guys like me. I believe in the strong use of military for the protection of the United States of America. I also believe the occupation of IRAQ was necessary for national security both in dethroning a violent dictator who has stood in violation of the UN and his own surrender agreement as well as removing a destablizing catalyst for the entire region. I believe Saddam Hussein was a major source on Middle East instability and by introducing freedom into Iraq, we will have unleashed the one weapon that has destroyed more dictators and oppressive empires through out history, the desire of the people for liberty. I believe Saddam had weapons of mass destruction (as proven by his use of gas on the Kurds) and I believe he would have used his considerable wealth and unlimited resources to obtain more for use against the United States. Assurances otherwise combined with a blatant disregard for UN mandate rang hollow. Furthermore, I believe the US acted within compliance of UN resolution 1447 (as well as 13 previous resolutions and the Iraqi surrender agreement) in occupying Iraq. I believe failure to act upon these resolutions would have led to the complete discrediting of the United Nations as was proven by the League of Nations in its failure to hold Germany accountable to surrender agreement of WWI and prior to World War II. How does the Democratic ideal of allowing these types of criminals to remain in power benefit America, furthermore, how does subscribing to UN mandate without enforcing it benefit America?

5. The use of God? I am a Christian, however, I do not believe in forcing my religion upon anyone. I believe everyone is given freewill and am not willing to condemn anyone for exercising it, however, I believe in order to preserve the integrity of the United States and the Constitution, we must endorse the belief in a higher being. The constitution clearly states “God Given Rights”. This is not an endorsement of government religion, but it is a statement which claims the law of man cannot take away such rights. Everywhere I look, there seems to be a movement to remove any reference to God either in the pledge of allegiance, the schools, and even from the face of history. I have seen a swing against such religion from the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. How does removing references to God from our lives promote the betterment of America and how does the rewriting of history to exclude God better America? (i.e. please see the new definitions for B.C. and A.D. It is no longer Before Christ and After Death).

6. Abortion. This is another loaded issue full of differences in opinions, which seems to split party lines very clearly. I do not support abortion, likewise, I am not in favor of more goverment control over daily lives and am willing to concede this as a right of the individual in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is in danger. I am not supportive of abortion as a form of birth control, especially in the form of late term abortion. It seems the Democrats have continually fought against any kind of ban this practice. How does late term abortion benefit society and advance America?

This is not meant to be a slam, but rather a chance to address my viewpoints in a logical manner. I welcome comments and look forward to hearing from different perspectives. I am providing this as an opportunity to convince me on fact that my perspective is wrong. I am being open-minded and am willing to listen. If nothing else, perhaps we can learn a little more about each other’s perspectives and concerns.

There’s not much to say about this video, other than our first amendment rights are being overridden by those who have come to our country, not to assimilate, but to change and control. The use of police to stifle constitutionally guaranteed free speech shows how far we have fallen from government officials… particularly big city officials… who have forgotten our heritage of God given rights and have caved to the expediency of political pressure and fear of those who reject our freedom and values and insist on imposing theirs. If you believe this is wrong, pass it on to everyone you know. We can’t fight this sort of thing by sitting on our couches and bellyaching about it.

If you feel the need to express your opinion of the actions you just witnessed on the video, you can reach the mayor and police chief at the Dearborn city website. You might even want to give them a call.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) owns the airwaves that we receive radio broadcasts and also has oversight on the internet. This weekend the FCC plans to make final policy rules on “Net Neutrality” which in essence establishes a requirement that “equal time” or equal access must be provided for all points of view on the internet. In essence this translate to violating free speech by limiting and controlling content. The victory of Comcast over the FCC may prevent the FCC from enforcing its Net Neutrality rules because there is no law being violated and therefore does not have the teeth to compel enforcement. Notwithstanding the FCC’s loss in Federal Appeals Court, the FCC continues to move forward with the release and enforce of Net Neutrality policies later this week.

US law grants power to the FCC to “directly regulate” the telecommunications industry. However, the FCC does not classify the internet (broadband) as telecommunications but as an “information service.” Due to this “distinction” the internet must be regulated differently. In a 2002 US Supreme Court decision, the FCC does have “limited” and “ancillary” authority to regulate the internet as an information service. Statist progressive FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski is strongly committed to Net Neutrality and is proceeding forward despite court reversals.

Since the 2002 decision the communist publication “Free Press” led by Statist Progressive Robert McKenzie has been assaulting the decision and advocating for a strong regulation of the internet under the Transform Media label. Net Neutrality is in reality designed to silence critics of socialism and totalitarianism by ensuring pro and con content must be equal and accessible. This also impacts accessibility to pornography, cults and other items that most Americans want nothing to do with. The Free Press is a very strong advocate for Net Neutrality and has launched several websites under the banners of “Keep the Internet Free” and “Save the Internet.” It has long been a ploy of the communists to usurp and pervert the language of freedom to accomplish the schemes of oppression and slavery. The internet just doesn’t get any freer than it is right now. Several “additional” proposals were advanced by the Free Press on Net Neutrality which limits free speech and utterly destroys the telecommunication and Information Technology economy. I will concede that I’m not the brightest bulb on the Marques, but can someone explain to me how one “Saves” free speech by taking it away?

The Statist Progressive White House is another major advocate of Net Neutrality. President Obama is often heard whining about how there is so much disinformation and lies about him and his programs being advanced by Fox and the internet. Obama defines a lie as anything that is opposed to him or his proposals. He believes that truth is relative and the ends justify the means. If he did not believe and advocate these principles, Health Care Reform would have remains in the ash heap is is destined for. The White House is moving to silence its critics and is committed to accomplishing these ends prior to the 2012 elections. Obama cronies like Statist Progressive Andy Stern of the SEIU, Activist Pastor Jim Wallace who replaced Radical Liberation Theology Pastor Jeremiah Wright; and self-proclaimed communist Van Jones are all involved in advocating for Net Neutrality.

Hard working Americans must let their voice be heard as well. Contact the FCC today and say NO to Net Neutrality!

Last night was one of the rare occasions that I watched the local news. This is a great source of information about the robberies, rapes and murders in my home town… and it’s kind of depressing since there is not a lot that I can do about most of these personal tragedies. What upset me most, though, was the news feed about the “Christian militia” arrests that took place over the weekend. There was an almost gleeful tone to the story about how the feds took down these religious zealots intent on overthrowing the government. Folks, this is just the beginning.

To put the story into perspective, all we know is what the formerly main stream media has told us… and all they know is what they’ve gotten from the authorities involved. It may be that these nine or so people in custody presented a real threat to life as we know it, however our government, over many administrations has lied to us so often that it’s difficult to know truth from fiction – and our media watchdogs have turned into lapdogs so we can’t look to them for help in ferreting out the straight story.

Even FoxNews ran an uncritical story about arrests of “Christian” militia members, so what can we really expect from the likes of CNN and MSNBC. Not knowing these people, I have no idea of what brand of theology they adhere to, so I am unable to decide if they are persecuted brothers or nut case heretics. I mean, this is the same media that calls Jeremiah Wright and Jim Wallis Christian, and I certainly am not willing to claim any spiritual kinship to them.

This labeling has to be seen in stark contrast to the outright unwillingness to tag Nadal Malik Hasan as a Muslim and call him a terrorist, even though actually gunned down thirty soldiers at Fort Hood in Texas a few months back. This media are loath to dispense any negative information about our Islamic neighbors, but are only too happy to say all manner of evil against the Christians in their presence.

To make matters worse, the only non-governmental source cited in the story of the arrests was statistics and opinions of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Consistent with their racist message, these statistics painted a picture of crazy white Christians attempting to keep the country pure. This kind of thinking is give currency because it aligns with the thinking of the media elites… and it aligns with the thinking of the current administration.

If indeed those arrested had plans to kill a police officer, then attack many more at the funeral, they needed to be stopped. Most police officers are good people doing their best to insure public safety. They are not responsible for the foolish laws they are sometimes called upon to enforce. It is those at the upper levels of our government that set the agenda that these men and women have to follow. There are times, however, when it may be necessary for them to follow their own consciences and keep the oaths they have taken, as members members of Oathkeepers have promised to do if anything really wrong is asked of them.

The police are like our military, sometimes directed to do things that may not be right by those with political agendas and schemes. The police should not be the target since the worst they do to most of us is harass “innocent” motorists with speeding tickets and the like.

Immediately after the piece ended I sent a email to the news director of the local station, explaining why the piece was wrong on so many levels. I did not, however, threaten to remove his head from his body, like some other groups do when their religion is offended. This is necessary as we have willingly followed the directions to stay hiding behind our church doors for far too long. The secular statists like it that way. We can have our beliefs as long as it does not interfere with their plans for world dominance. They are patient people, they understand that if we are pushed out of the market place of ideas, our numbers will shrink as we shrivel to an ineffective chorus of whiners.

We need to point out that the violence they supposedly fear is coming from within their own ranks as Sarah Palin’s church was torched, someone shot into Eric Cantor’s office and another voiced threats to his life on the internet. It might be noted that the man talking of doing violence to the Republican whip is reportedly an Obama contributor and a Muslim. I’ll bet you don’t see that on CNN or MCNBC. One could go on with stories about SEIU thugs beating a man giving out Gadsden flags, eggs thrown at tea party busses and the Albemarle County VA Republican headquarters vandalized. Those things are OK since Cantor is Jewish and the rest are just some of those evil people trying to stop “progress”.

I saw a bumper sticker a few days ago that said in bold letters, “PACIFISM WORKS” followed by “if your opponent has morals”. That summed it up beautifully as I have seen no evidence of a moral compass in the Obama administration or any of its minions.

We don’t all have to go out and buy an AK-47 along with a couple of Glocks, then go out and run around in the woods. What we do have to do is speak up when we see this kind of prejudice. In one sense, what they think about us doesn’t matter. But in another, we need to be at the forefront of defending the gospel and standing for the values that brought our country to greatness.

With a mindset that is antithetical to that of Barack Hussein Obama, we need to understand that this battle is not about us and our comfort. We are in a fight for the soul of our country and the souls of our fellow citizens. We cannot let them down.

We have two powerful weapons the other side knows nothing about. The first is prayer to the creator of the universe who takes a personal interest in each one of us. The second is the truth. Scripture says the truth will set us free. It works for us and it works for those blinded by their Obamessiah… but they will never hear it if we sit down and be quiet as we have been told to do.

We cannot let the actions of a few people who go off the deep end make us back out of the fight… if indeed, that is what happened. They need our prayers as well. We are all under attack and it is going to get worse. We have no choice but to join the battle – or surrender. Somehow, I don’t think our Father in heaven would be pleased if we shrunk back from the task at hand.

Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council exercised his and his organizations First Amendment right when he spoke out about the replacement of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military policy with a positive acceptance of openly homosexual members. He wrote about the long documented problems this type of policy caused in the past and will cause in the future. Mr. Perkins understands that soldiers don’t like taking showers with guys that like taking showers with soldiers.

Sometime back, he was invited to give a devotional at a National Prayer Luncheon held at Andrews Air Force Base, just outside the liberal bastion of beltway thinking. However, somewhere along the line, commanders, ever mindful of their promotional opportunities and their relationship to their civilian leaders, decided that it would be best if Tony Perkins not spread his common sense ideas among the men in their charge.

Perkins was told that he and his group were “incompatible in our role as military members who serve our elected officials and our commander in chief.” Some would call it censorship if messengers are denied access based on their message. It is clear that only one message on this topic is permitted in the military and and our government in general.

This pattern is seen in our indoctrination centers called public schools, in all sorts of public offices and in the formerly mainstream media. This is a pattern that has been repeated in our country and others, always with negative consequences. Joseph Goebbels was quoted as saying, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

We need to be aware of this pattern… and I believe most of us are… but we need to let it guide our thinking and our actions. We need to keep speaking the truth, possibly being prepared for some negative consequences.

Even beyond adjusting their actions and policies to what many call the “gay agenda”, which is nothing more than gaining public acceptance of essentially antisocial behavior, it is possible to see an even more sinister undertone to the official response to Perkins. Let’s look at it again. Consider, “our role as military members who serve our elected officials and our commander in chief.”

I hope you will forgive my antiquated concepts, but it was always my understanding that our military and other governmental organizations existed to serve the people of the United States, not the congress and president. The military reports to these people who are supposed to be representing the welfare of the citizens. It has been reported that, at one time the new President wanted the military to take an oath of allegiance to him… not the country… not the flag… not even the people, but to the President, one Barack Hussein Obama. Thank God for groups like Oatkeepers who, having sworn to uphold the constitution are actually planning to do it in spite of orders that may come down to the contrary by commanders with more loyalty to the politicians who have such control over their career prospects.

We even saw this in the so-called health care summit, broadcast live to thousands where the President admonished GOP attendees that they should not be concentrating on the things they don’t like, but should be working on areas of common agreement. It’s as if other viewpoints do not exist, or at least, are not important enough to be considered… or perhaps these are the ideas that expose the lies of the state.

We see more and more dissenting views stifled, either officially as with “hate crimes” legislation or through attempts to homogenize our thoughts be defining acceptable ideas and discounting outliers. We can let the progressives inflict their distorted world view on us and our children or we can continue to speak the truth… and allow the truth to set us free.

It is in the best interest of tyrannical government to have a disreputable news media. The mainstream news media have become more scandalous and less believable than government.

Beginning with an agenda – usually far-left – they filter, formulate and frame world events to promote their agendas. Learning well from Hollywood, these purveyors of persuasion use the camera lens and mighty pen to create illusions designed to indoctrinate and ignite passions.

Add in a barrage of brilliant marketing techniques that would make Madison Avenue ad men envious and what we have is mainstream media news.

Rather than shining a light into the dark corners of government, they prefer to direct the spotlight on themselves or their cause. Journalists from main-stream news networks and newspapers – many suffering from “power envy” – use rumors, innuendos, opinions and the infamous “anonymous sources” to present their distorted version of the truth.

They follow with polling to see if our education is complete. Several members of the main-stream media have been caught totally fabricating sources and stories. Are these people blessed with expansive imaginations or simply liars?

The New York Times, the center of the liberal’s universe, is also the center of the media universe. An alarming number of national stories reported by television and newspapers around the world quote The Times as their source. The American people are left never knowing fact from fiction because the majority of all world news is reported and controlled by a few mega-corporations. Throw in the tripe from the Internet and we’re left with a dangerous level of induced ignorance.

Civilization would be better served, and millions of lives could be saved if the truth were always known, communicated and believed. Unfortunately, those with the knowledge and power wish to use both to indoctrinate rather than educate.

We know more about the private lives of celebrities than we do about the positions, ideas and voting records of our representatives. The front page is used as an editorial page, and the term “arrogance of power” applies more to media than government. A healthy distrust of government is the only sensible method for maintaining freedoms, but our watchdogs have been busy striking poses and baying at the moon.

As we approach the celebration of Christ’s birth, I am reminded of the words of John Quincy Adams. On July 4, 1837, he spoke these words:

“Why is it that, next to the birthday of the Savior of the world, your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day? … Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth. That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity, and gave to the world the first irrevocable pledge of the fulfillment of the prophecies announced directly from Heaven at the birth of the Savior and predicted by the greatest of the Hebrew prophets six hundred years before?”

Adams was exactly right: America’s birth is directly linked to the birth of our Savior. In fact, the United States of America is the only nation established by Christian people, upon Biblical principles, and dedicated to the purpose of religious liberty. This truth is easily observed within America’s earliest history.

America’s forebears first established a written covenant with God as early as November 11, 1620, when they penned The Mayflower Compact. It states in part:

“In the name of God, Amen. … Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and Honour of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.”

The sentiments and statements of America’s founders make it clear that this nation has enjoyed a love and appreciation for the rights and freedoms recognized in Natural Law that is unique in the annals of human history. No other people have such a heritage.

One thing America’s founders could not envision was–after they had paid so terrible a price to purchase our liberties–that the time would come when their posterity would be denied the basic freedoms to publicly express their reverence for God. Never could they have imagined that the day would come when citizens of the sovereign states (each with a State constitution protecting religious liberty) would be denied their right to pray in school, or place Nativity scenes on public property, or hang copies of the Ten Commandments on courthouse walls.

I am also confident that America’s founders would be completely repulsed by the way the United States has jumped headlong into corporatism, socialism, and globalism. Democrats and Republicans alike have created a central government so large that it would be unrecognizable to any Founding Father

(even Alexander Hamilton or John Adams). In addition, both Big Business and Big Religion have sold our great country down the old proverbial river. Truly, our Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves.

Therefore, at this Christmas season, let us remember well the founding principles of these United States of America. Furthermore, let us renew with vigor the fight for freedom before our liberties and our heritage are gone altogether.

From my family to yours: Merry Christmas!

P.S. According to one of the most prestigious trade magazines in the firearms industry, (Handguns, February/March, 2010), “Winchester secured a Homeland Security contract for up to 200 million rounds of .40 S&W, ammo that will be used by Immigration, Customs and Enforcement [ICE].”

I dare say that there is no way that ICE could burn through 200 million rounds of handgun ammunition anytime in the foreseeable future. Good grief! They barely even load their handguns, much less actually fire them. Or are they such bad shots that they need that much practice? As someone said, “I smell a rat!” What exactly does DHS plan to do with 200 million rounds of .40-caliber ammunition? That is a question every American should want answered.

In the meantime, if you have a .40 S&W-caliber handgun, you might want to stock up on ammo now, because price is fixing to skyrocket and availability is fixing to dwindle–again. As they say, a word to the wise.

Happy New Year! It should be a very interesting one.

The last few days articles have brought more hate mail than usual from panic stricken “warmers” who are scared silly that we’ll be successful in stopping the rush to fix our supposedly overheated planet and we will all drown as polar ice caps melt and oceans overwhelm the land. These fragile souls have been conditioned by our educational establishment, formerly mainstream media and our government to believe all sorts of doomsday predictions… often to the point of irrationality.

They have heard Algore. Barack Hussein Obama and a host of other people with high positions, but little schooling in climatology, tell us that the science is settled… that arguments are over and the decision has been made: we are on the eve of destruction. The unfortunate thing about this is that most everyone promoting the man-made global warming theory has some sort of financial or political stake in the issue. There is no question about how former Vice President and erstwhile internet inventor Algore is enriching himself by perpetrating this fraud. Companies standing by with their hands out for government money all have a vested interest in reinforcing our belief, as do the refugees from the 60’s who are now tenured professors living on generous climate change study grants.

Dr. Michaels is a respected professor at the University of Virginia, climatologist at the CATO Institute and member of the UN’s IPCC. He has actually seen the data, and knows how to interpret it. We would do well to take his evaluation more seriously than amateur weather buffs who have no idea what is behind the computer models that have initiated and fueled this panic. Dr. Michaels is also one that the Climategate emails suggested that someone would like to do bodily harm because of his honesty. Now is the time for each of us to keep our head about us and use them for more than a hat rack as my grand parents used to say.
