Planned Parenthood Caught Offering Services to Child Human Traffickers

Washington, DC – In a recently released video, Planned Parenthood has been caught offering assistance to a man posing as a child sex trafficker in New Jersey. An office manager is caught in a private meeting with this man as he makes the nature of his business clear and details that his “clients” (victims) are either minors or illegally present in the United States.

The footage captures on camera the sinister side of Planned Parenthood, as an office manager laughs and jokes with the pimp and gives tips on how to make his business appear more “ligit.” Planned Parenthood has long contended that its purpose of existence is to protect the health and well-being of women, yet this Planned Parenthood official never reported the existence of an acknowledged child sex trafficking operation to police. Obviously, if this trafficking ring were to have been real, Planned Parenthood would have made money from aborting the babies that came as a consequence of the ring’s activities, thus directly taking advantage of these victims. Live Action is well noted as having done these kinds of undercover operations before, often exposing the horrors of abortion clinics around the country. Read more of this article »

Obama Celebrates While the Nation Mourns the Deaths of 53 Million Americans

Washington, DC – As hundreds of thousands of citizens and volunteers gather in DC to protest the preborn killing of American children, President Obama greeted their arrival with a public statement recommitting to continue abortion. As estimates suggest that last November, America exceeded 53 million people who were not allowed to continue living because of Roe v. Wade, this anniversary should be hallowed in their memory, not rededicated to additional killing of innocent children.

Obama said, “Today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters. I am committed to protecting this constitutional right. I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption. And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

In all the wars in American history combined, from the Revolution to Afghanistan, we have lost approximately 910,000 people. However, in 38 years we have lost about 53 million children to abortion. We lose more children to abortion each day than we lost in all the tragedies on September 11, 2001. About 98 percent of abortions are done for convenience unrelated to health. Less than 2 percent of abortions are done for serious health reasons, rape or incest. Minorities have also been hit hard by abortion. African-Americans account for about 12 percent of the population, but 37 percent of the 1.3 million abortions each year. Latinos make up about 15 percent of the population, yet account for about 22 percent of the annual number of abortions. Read more of this article »

A Child is Born!!!! A Call to Prayer for Our Country and the Unborn

baby-jesusBy Rachel Sargent

[Editors note: I received this from a friend today and felt the message was so important that I had to share it.]

This month as we focus on the birth of our Saviour, let us also spend time praying for the unborn and for our government’s response to choose life.

Today December 1st, let us pray that all Christians and Pro Lifers would not remain silent on the mass murder of God’s image in the womb, the innocent unborn.

Pray for abortion clinics all over the USA to close. For more prolifers to join us in prayer in front of clinics, regardless of the personal cost.

For congressmen and governors to act and not wait any longer on righting a 37 years’ wrong. Read more of this article »

Why Do You Vote?

Posted by Larry Miller on October 25, 2010 under Why | 2 Comments to Read

davidIs your voting and other public involvement strictly a political effort in a compartmentalized political world… or is there something more to it than that? The politically correct, secularized society we live in would like to have us think that it is. They want us to believe that who we vote for, who we work to get elected and the issues we support come from a separate part of our lives from the our Sunday morning church activities. It’s a form of divide and conquer. If they can separate our political activities from our values, they can get us to do must about anything.

In the unique progressive form of intolerant tolerance, we have people who are perfectly happy to let us have our religious beliefs and practices, as long as it doesn’t interfere with their plans to manipulate and enslave us. We are expected to keep our Christian principles to ourselves, as the world is rearranged so as not to offend the Muslims who have recently arrived in our presence.

To some, voting is something they do if they have strong feelings about some issue or other… and if it isn’t too inconvenient. They don’t understand the real relationship between the individual citizen and the world around us. They have managed to fit the expectations of our society and compartmentalize their lives into discreet spheres like community, work, parenting, church life and the like. Is this as it should be? What’s Wrong The NRA?

Posted by Larry Miller on October 7, 2010 under How | Read the First Comment

nraIt’s sad what is happening to the National Rifle Association (NRA). For decades they have stood for the rights of gun owners and helped elect legislators who will vote to preserve them. They are still doing this, more or less. However, in their tunnel vision, focusing only on the right to protect ones self with a fire arm, they are exposing the fallacy of any single issue organization.

In pursuing this course, they are being sucked into a trap that could ultimately frustrate their lifelong struggle. This is the same error many pro-lifers make when they only look at the abortion issue. Here in Virginia, we see three Democrat congressmen who vote consistently with the Pelosi, Reid, Obama axis of evil.

However, the Old Dominion is not alone. This pattern is repeated throughout the nation. Go to the NRA web site to see who the Political Victory Fund is supporting in your state.  Mr. LaPierre and company, in supporting legislators who vote correctly on various specific bills, ignore the whole body of their work in congress. In supporting Democrat lawmakers, they are, ultimately, empowering Speaker Pelosi and her extreme anti-gun agenda. This is kind of an awkward situation to be in… if it were to be acknowledged. Challenge from a Right Wing Nut Job

PartySymbolsby Kelsey Hilderbrand

Let’s try something new shall we? I got this idea after spending a weekend with my wife’s family. The Andersons are great group of folks who I enjoy spending time with, however, they are about as politically divided a family as I have ever seen. This is not just your standard “this is my view, this is your view lets have a drink and discuss it” type of family. Politics are a sport and are argued as vehemently as two teams fighting like the score is tied with 30 seconds to go in the championship game. Based on my wife’s request, I try to stay out of the circle of engagement, but every now and then I am drawn into an argument. My party affiliation is no secret as I am a registered independent, but my viewpoints are anything but neutral. I am, as my brother-in-law has labeled me, “a right-wing-nut-job”. I am devoutly conservative with my ideals and hence am a target for the “left-wing-kooks”. More times than not, I am challenged to defend the actions of my party affiliations or my ideologies. This has grown tiresome, as my arguments are often dismissed by the those who do not like to hear what I have say or are interrupted prior to my conclusions, so I am going to make an offer of unusual stature.

I do not believe the Republican party has the answer to every problem, nor do I always agree with they way they handle situations, however, I almost always find myself in disagreement with the Democrats and their ideology. Above all, I am searching for what I believe is best for AMERICA. I do not care about political affiliations, but I believe in upholding the ideals of our Founding Fathers and the integrity of the Red, White, and Blue. I do not believe I can effectively call myself a supporter of Americanism if I do not listen to both sides of the argument, likewise, I do not give much weight to an someone’s opinion who does not let me finish a statement without interjecting, arguing, or being otherwise “closed-minded”. Giving An Inch?

Posted by Larry Miller on June 23, 2010 under How | Be the First to Comment

Rev Patrick Mahoney is a man of principle and courage. On a beautiful spring day in our nations capital he set out to pray for women seeking to end their pregnancies and their soon to die offspring. By simply kneeling on the sidewalk outside a Planned Parenthood abortion mill, he found himself arrested, handcuffed and driven off in the back of a District of Columbia police car.

Showing the power of political connections, the organization claimed the outdoors portion of the property to be part of the indoor section… and the city attorney went along with their scheme. Of course Planned Parenthood did not like Rev. Mahoney and his compatriots letting women know what was really going on inside the building and inside their bodies. There were too many dollars at stake. Besides killing babies is a woman’s right.

The thing that makes this event so notable is that he knew this would be the result… and he did it anyway. Many of us will cheer on a courageous patriot who will stand up, not only to the police but the legal system as well. Then, use the legal system to take back the ground we are losing every day. The complete story is covered in Christian News Wire. Read more of this article »

A Message To The Church

Posted by Rev Maxwell Diener on April 28, 2010 under Why | Be the First to Comment

churchThis message is directed to Christ’s Churches.

My shepherds have abandoned their flocks.

You are my shepherds. You are responsible for the protection of the lambs. How has the fox entered into the fields? You were asleep? The Word was left for your guidance and to proclaim the laws for the Fathers children. Do you not see and understand the meaning of the Word? Nations have been lost. Multitudes of the Fathers children have not survived. Darkness covers the earth. The Fathers children have been deceived and are now asleep. You are to awaken them.

The Churches have been silent. Your silence is approval of injustice. You were told to love one another. To love is to correct. The good father that fails to correct his child, loses that child forever. Silence has destroyed the families. Silence has allowed the murder of millions of the Fathers children. Silence is approval. Love,or correction, demands that any injustice be corrected immediately. Every wrong word must be corrected. Forgiveness is for your benefit. Forgiveness prevents you from judging and therefor saves you from resentment. Resentment separates you from the Father. Your forgiveness does not excuse the sinner. Forgiveness is for your benefit. Only the Father can forgive sin. Read more of this article »

The Progressives Bump Into Science Again

Posted by Larry Miller on February 2, 2010 under Why | Be the First to Comment

teenpregnancyNot long after we saw the downfall of the pseudoscience of global warming, we are beginning to see cracks in the battle against abstinence only education. The Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine recently published a detailed study showing that the methodology so despised by the the progressive elites and academic aristocracy to actually have the effectiveness they long denied. There is no joy in Mudville… or at UC Berkley.

The specifics of the study are not as important as the fact that academic rejection of the results was as predictable as Barack Hussein Obama’s use of duel teleprompters. Instead of hailing the study as something promising in the battle against teen pregnancy and STDs, the reaction showed the kneejerk reaction of the entrenched secularists as they sought to discredit both the study and its conclusions. We have seen this behavior before… many times.

Instead of using science as the path the truth, it is being used like a drunk clinging to a lamp post… more for support than illumination. This is the very same intellectual dishonesty they continually accuse those who are foolish enough to actually believe the principles of the Bible. We should be used to this by now… science eventually confirming the words of the same creator that endowed us with unalienable rights. Read more of this article »

The Truth About Abortion

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on January 24, 2010 under Why | Be the First to Comment

unbornToday marks the 37th anniversary of the infamous US Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision, which, in effect, legalized abortion-on-demand nationwide. The aftermath of this tragic ruling is the deaths of over 40 million (a very conservative number) innocent unborn babies. It is no hyperbole to say abortion is America’s holocaust.  Think of it, every American citizen today, 37 years old or younger, has never known a country that respected and protected innocent human life in the womb. Put it another way: when Hitler’s Third Reich was at its zenith, the abortion rate was 40%. In 2003 (the last year that I checked), the abortion rate of the county in which I live was 39%. And I live in the heart of the so-called “Bible Belt.” In fact, statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be in America is not in an automobile without wearing a seat belt, or in a commercial airliner with a potential terrorist on board. Statistically speaking, the most dangerous place to be is in the womb of one’s mother.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson once headed America’s largest abortion clinic in New York City. He admitted superintending over the killing of 75,000 unborn babies. He later recanted his pro-abortion activity and wrote what may be the quintessential book defending an unborn child’s right to life, “Aborting America.” Dr. Nathanson said, “There is no longer serious doubt in my mind that human life exists within the womb from the very onset of pregnancy.”

Dr. Mildred Jefferson was a surgeon at Boston University Medical Center, a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with many honors and awards. She said, “Many people try to hide behind the confusion of not knowing what happens before a baby is born. But we do not have to be confused. We in medicine and science have a different name for every stage of the development of the baby, but it does not matter at all whether you know those names or not. When a young woman has not had much opportunity to go to school and she becomes pregnant, no one has to tell her that she is going to have a baby. Read more of this article »

Wilberforce: Proof That Incrementalism Works?

Posted by Bob Kyfffin on December 21, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

William WilberforceWilliam Wilberforce is a hero in the eyes of most of us in the pro-life movement. He’s an inspiration to all of us.

However, his work against slavery in Britain is often cited (by incrementalists) as proof that “incrementalism works.” This claim not only mistakes the lesson we should take from his astonishing life, but also denigrates the true values that he held dear – those based upon a conviction in the God-given Rights to Life and Freedom.

The growing Personhood Wing of the pro-life movement holds that “any law which says ‘do this, and then you can kill the baby (or own the slave)’” is an evil regulation Christians should never support. Did Wilberforce support such laws during his nearly half-century of crusading? Yes. Have many sincere pro-lifers done so, even those who now support Personhood? Yes. The problem is not the person – it’s the naïve, emotional position they hold for a time.

Most supporters of Personhood once supported laws such as the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, or waiting periods. Some didn’t, but they are few. The intellectual path from incrementalism to abolitionism is a long, hard one. We can’t condemn someone for not “getting the concept” right away. All we can do is ask them to consider, and to learn. The Manhattan Declaration – More Heroes Take A Stand

Posted by Larry Miller on November 22, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

colson“Because we honor justice and the common good, we will not comply with any edict that purports to compel our institutions to participate in abortions, embryo-destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnerships, treat them as marriages or the equivalent, or refrain from proclaiming the truth, as we know it, about morality and immorality and marriage and the family. We will fully and ungrudgingly render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. But under no circumstances will we render to Caesar what is God’s.”

So concludes the Manhattan Declaration, penned in part by Chuck Colson and signed by 152 Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical church leaders. The list of signatures reads like a Who’s Who of the Christian world. What these courageous men and women have done is to take their beliefs outside of the confines of the church and into the real world where they can make an impact in our society. In some ways we can thank the current administration for the slap in the face that woke up both the tea party people and, now, the religious leaders. Prior to this time, our country had been drifting toward destruction… now we are rushing headlong to the end of our country as we know it.

Below, I’ve included some excerpts that convey the concerns and spirit of the document. You can read the complete declaration and list of signers at http://tinyurl.com/ykrmek4 Read more of this article »

Learning from Jim Pouillon

Posted by Larry Miller on September 21, 2009 under Why | Read the First Comment

pouillonI guess by now, most everyone has heard the deafening silence of the state media when pro-life demonstrator, Jim Pouillon, was gunned down as he did what he had done hundreds, perhaps thousands of times before. He was known for showing pictures of the results of an abortion. This, we were told, was controversial… it caused people discomfort. Unfortunately, these same people were not put off by the procedure that created dismembered babies itself. Pictures of dead babies seem to upset people more than the fact that someone is actually responsible for their violent and painful deaths.

The same lack of concern for the demise of the innocents was shown to the death of the protester himself. The press and most pundits acted as if the man’s passing was little more than a footnote if they mentioned it at all… and if they did mention it, it was to infer that the man had most likely brought it upon himself. Barack Hussein Obama, who had a firm opinion about Professor Gates, definite thougths about Kanye West and expressed his distress when George Tiller, the man responsible for the destruction of thousands of unborn infants, was shot while ushering in his church had nothing to say, either about the act of violence or as comfort to the victim’s family. Was he unconcerned or should it be construed as implied consent?

The reaction of the state media should not be surprising considering that those inside the media bubble believe Tiller was indeed the hero for helping women rid themselves of their troublesome offspring, and people like Pouillon were gnat-like nuisances in implementing their elitist, narcissistic vision of utopia. Most modern “journalists” fail to see these children as gifts from God, and have no problem with someone zapping them out of earthly existence if they are personally inconvenient.

Spokesmen Catholic and evangelical church groups were quick to honor Jim Pouillon as a martyr for the pro-life cause, yet this were not the the only “religious” view. For instance, the Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita KS, not only failed to take a stand against the the brutality of late term abortions, but actually permitted Dr. Tiller to represent them as an usher the Sunday of his death. Lessons Not Learned

Posted by Larry Miller on September 3, 2009 under Why | Read the First Comment

rpv-logoWhere has the principled courage of the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) gone? Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds has been raising a ruckus about a thirty year old thesis written by his Republican opponent Bob McDonnell. This thesis, written in youthful enthusiasm, said such terrible things as killing unborn babies was wrong and that children raised by stay-at-home mothers tended to fare better than those whose mothers worked outside the home. Deeds questions how anyone with such outdated ideas could be taken seriously. RPV has no defense, only a strategy of duck and cover.

While times have changed, principles have not. Former Attorney General McDonnell may express himself differently these days, but I would hope the ideals of the young student have not changed significantly. Instead of defending ideas that have broad appeal in the normally red state of Virginia, RPV Chairman Pat Mullins issued a statement complaining that Mr. Deeds has introduced divisive social issues into the campaign. One has to wonder if this is the milquetoast leadership the party insiders were looking for when they ousted Jeff Frederick from the position and replaced him with Mullins a few weeks before this summer’s convention in Richmond. A recent Rasmussen poll shows that 74% of Republicans believe that their congressional representatives have lost touch with the voters. Is it much of a stretch to believe the same of party leaders as well?

The Republican candidate, who is a good man and has compiled a strong conservative record during his years in the General Assembly, is now running as a jobs and energy moderate… not that there is anything wrong with either issue. They are about making a living… not a life. As this is written, McDonnell is up by seven points over Deeds… down from double digits a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it appears that his political gurus are working to mellow him down the same road of defeat that they showed previous candidates for this position, Jerry Kilgore and Mark Earley. I spent the last two days fasting. On day two I listened to worship music all day as I cleaned house. I kept my heart focused on the Lord’s presence. I went to bed exhausted and fell fast asleep but only for a short while. Something was stirring in my spirit. I woke up about three hours later and received this word from the Lord.

****************************

Arise, My people! Bring forth the full force of the power I have placed within you.
I am calling My army forth. I am strengthening My people for the days ahead. The enemy knows his time is very short but he is on a short leash and he and his minions are no match for My army.

Oh, sure he is giving it all he has got but it will not overcome My true warriors. I have stationed My champions at all strategic points throughout this nation and all the nations of My universe. Read more of this article »

The Mad Scientist And The White House

Posted by Larry Miller on July 15, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

holdrenDuring his inaugural address, Barack Hussein Obama promised “We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost,” This was in part, to counter what he perceived to be excessive deference to religious influences by the previous administration. At the time it was difficult to tell if he was embracing one and or simply rejecting the other.

The selection of John Holdren as the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy helps put the purpose into much sharper focus. If Holdren were simply a wild eyed academic, the damage he could inflict would be limited to the destruction of a relatively few impressionable minds behind ivy covered walls. But he is not… and the damage is incalculable if he is permitted to inflict his thinking on our whole country.

What is this thinking? How can we know what is going on in the demented mind of John Holdren. He has over the years had published hundreds of papers and articles and co-authored twenty books. These give a pretty clear picture of a man who appears to have watched far too many science fiction movies as a child.

These were the wonderful old black and white movies we saw on Saturday afternoons, such as The Monolith Monsters and Day of the Triffids. In these B movies… maybe even C movies, the problems facing humanity were almost as awful as their special effects. It was only through the lone, virtuous scientist that the earth was saved every time. I enjoyed those films myself but they could produce a warped vision of science versus the unwashed masses. Hate in America

Posted by Larry Miller on June 24, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

hate2A recent Rasmussen poll tells us the half all Americans believe hate is growing in our country. This is based, in large part, on recent killing of a notorious abortionist, an American soldier at a recruiting station and the attack on the holocaust museum in Washington. Thirty five percent consider them to be isolated incidents. The rest, just don’t know if or what to think. While it’s difficult to generalize from three incidents, many people are busy doing just that.

It seems those that tend to feel more vulnerable and insecure see greater generalized hatred… women (57%)… unmarried (62%). They seem to be responding more on emotion than actually looking at the details of each incidents. Each killing is unfortunate, the ending of one life and ruination of another… not to mention the families involved. However, was an irrational hatred the driving factor in each case?

It seems that today, we have a difficult time thinking about and overusing the word “hate”. For instance, homosexuals believe that they are the victims of hate crimes whenever anyone opposes them or their goals. If a preacher tells his congregation about the sinful nature of their actions, they say he is preaching hate. They may be disingenuously playing the part of a victim, having realized a little sympathy when they are supposedly harassed by someone who simply disagrees with them or their agenda. In some ways believing that your adversaries irrationally despise you is less damaging to the ego than accepting that they may have good reasons that may actually be correct.

In the case of Dr. Tiller, without getting in the head of the shooter, it’s kind of hard to understand the details of his motivation. However, automatically assigning Scott Roeder’s motive to a blind hatred of Dr. Tiller ignores the fact that, to him, it may well have been just a logical response to a situation where he saw the courts repeatedly thwarting the will of the people and their elected legislatures. We have the situation aptly described by Frederic Bastiat when he said, “When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law. These two evils are of equal consequence, and it would be difficult for a person to choose between them.” Read more of this article »

The Abortionist Has Been Aborted

Trusting Child

Trusting Child

The death of George Tiller was all over the media eager to show the hypocrisy of the pro-life movement. The same media that tells us that Islamic terrorists are aberrations wants to paint all of us who value the lives of the unborn with the same brush of violence. Most responsible groups have condemned this action saying the taking of human life is always wrong.

The sixth commandment tells us the “Thou shalt not kill.” Dr. Tiller was breaking this commandment every time he put on the garb of a healer and ended the life of an innocent creation of God. The question of whether it was the right thing to do has and will be discussed ad nauseum. On one hand, one has to look at the potential lives that would be saved by stopping this man’s work. On the other hand we have Deuteronomy 32:35 (NIV) which says, “It is mine to avenge I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.”

It is clear we are not to seek to inflict justice upon unjust humanity. That is not our job. We may feel offended by the actions of others, but it is really God whose plan for life is being rejected. The offense to Him is far greater than anything our sensibilities may feel since He is the one who created the tiny beating heart.

Taking a life to save an innocent is something we have to look at as this has been an accepted practice when a police sniper will sometimes take out an armed madman holding a school full of children hostage. Hardly any one quibbles with this action. Moses even killed the Egyptian while protecting a fellow Israelite. These cases both involve immanent danger to someone, and it could even be danger to one’s self that would justify a violent, lethal response. Read more of this article »

The Gathering Storm

Posted by Larry Miller on May 20, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending a We Surround Them/912 meeting with about 70 other concerned citizens. Last week, I spent the evening with about 20 others in a similar meeting. Tonight about 30 more people gathered to in a similar group. What is particularly encouraging, is that most of these people were either new to involvement in public affairs or were coming back after a lengthy hiatus.

The tea parties provided the catalyst to bring them back. The crowds provided the push that let them know they were not alone. Most people are not constitutionally suited to standing against the power of the federal government alone. We cheered the Chinese student staring down the tanks in Tiananmen Square, but tend to shy away from confrontation ourselves. With a group of like minded citizens, the patriots can become warriors.

I was amazed by the intensity of the emotional display. People are concerned about their country. They don’t like where it is headed. They are concerned about the world they will be leaving to their children and grand children. They are looking for ways to channel these feelings and energy.

Members of two of these groups combined to visit local Congressional and Senate offices to present a Petition for Redress of Grievances. These petitions outlined various actions by the federal government that, by almost any reasonable interpretation, were clearly unconstitutional. It must have been a bit of fun to be part of the group of about 25 as the filed into the local legislative offices with video and still cameras. One aide did a great deer in the headlights impression – but I don’t think he was acting, two aides welcomed them in and held a pleasant conversation and one office only showed them a shaken receptionist hiding behind her bullet proof glass shield. Our First Priority

Posted by Larry Miller on May 18, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

Now we are hearing from many moderates in the mushy middle that the Republican Party should set aside some of the social issues and concentrate on economic issues where “everyone” can agree. I have mixed feelings about this message. On one hand we have the hypocrisy displayed by those pushing this view point as we have seen precious little economic common sense from those who want to elevate that to the top of Republican agenda. On the other, there is an element of truth to the position… but not for their weak kneed reasons.

For the most part, these are the same people who have helped the previous administration push through very unRepublican expansions of government and federal budgets. Now, they are suddenly talking like fiscal conservatives they know the country is looking for. As far as concerning ourselves with the welfare of the unborn, the ability to keep our guns, the sanctity of marriage and the like, perhaps it is time to take a bigger picture view of the situation. It’s not that they are not critical issues and must be dealt with as we look to preserve our country for our kids and grandkids.

The point is that we are working in a political environment that is not only hostile to our values, but, according to a recent Department of Homeland Security report, hostile to us as individuals. The decision makers in Washington are heading full speed in the opposite direction. The are busy expanding the power of the federal government and using it to push our traditional values as far into the distant past as possible.

So before we can, once again, go on offense and pursue the necessary changes we have to put the brakes on this headlong rush to disaster. The teeth of this administration are the increasing powers they are accumulating. It is only because they can impose their views in the American people that their ideas present a hazard to our well being. Pull these, often unconstitutional, teeth, and their big government interventionist policies cease to be a problem. Read more of this article »

Two Kinds Of Republicans

Posted by Larry Miller on April 2, 2009 under How | Read the First Comment

Newspapers, along with TV anchors and infobabes love to tell stories of dissension within the ranks of the Republican Party. They enjoy pouring fuel on any kind of sparks, trying to fan them into a blaze that negates the effectiveness of any non-Democrat politician. The problem is that there is some basis for the stories about factions within the Grand Old Party.

To those outside, the differences may appear to be simple personality conflicts or random loyalty fights. The fact is it goes much deeper than that. There are really two distinct groups within the party. When things are going well, it’s hard to tell one from the other. However the recent electoral failures have deepened these differences and peeled back the veneer of smiling faces.

The first type is the structural Republican. With these, it is a tradition and they may have been in the party all their lives. They feel a kind of proprietary interest in it. They would vote for anyone as long as they have an R by their name on the ballot and will continue to support them no matter how far they stray from party orthodoxy. Because of their party orientation, these are usually the people who show up at party functions and usually run for party offices.

These are also the people usually anointed to run for elected office. Strong, conservative candidates can break through, but rarely without a knock down, drag out fight. A few years ago Virginia presented a dilemma to the structural Republicans. Oliver North was nominated to run for a senate seat. He was the man and many party insiders gritted their teeth and said they would support him. However Senator John Warner would have nothing of this hero who actually believed in something beyond himself. Warner found someone to run as an independent against Ollie and siphoned off enough votes to insure his defeat. While the grassroots Republicans who secured the North nomination cried “foul”, the party leaders said nothing and did nothing about it. Some even joined the “moderate” Senator in support of the interloper. They believed their role was subordinate to the elected official rather than subordinate to the people! Rethinking Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment

Posted by Larry Miller on March 15, 2009 under Why | Read the First Comment

In 1966, while running for Governor in California, Ronald Reagan’s formulated what has come to be known as the Eleventh Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.” This was in response to the trash talk about conservative 1964 presidential candidate Barry Goldwater by so-called moderate Republicans. In general is was a pretty useful and workable rule at the time.

However today it seems to only work in one direction as we have seen in the uncivil treatment received by Ron Paul and others at the conservative/libertarian end of the spectrum. While conservatives have gotten used to the being ostracized and having lies and half truths told about them, the more moderate members of the party seem to have much thinner skin.

We are told we should not be criticizing Republicans who are throwing conservative principles under the bus as the country plunges downward in an economic tailspin. While party members are squelched when bringing this up, polls show more anger among conservatives at the Republicans than Democrats. This should be cause for concern by those counting on this voting block.

The practice of catering to incumbents, despite a lack of adherence to generally accepted, smaller, less intrusive government thinking has led the party to silently take the poison pill of semi-Democrat influence in the leadership positions. Yet no one is supposed to speak up. Read more of this article »

Old Bumper Stickers

Posted by Larry Miller on March 11, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

I was driving south on Rt. 50 and just crossed the Bay Bridge near Annapolis heading toward Washington. I was in a column of cars traveling in the left lane at speeds emphatically discouraged by the Peoples Republic of Maryland when this little foreign car slid over in front of me, but wouldn’t or couldn’t keep the pace. At this point I noticed a blue Obama 08 sticker placed prominently in the rear window. It just sat there, like one of Bill Engvall’s signs flashing “I’m stupid… I’m stupid… I’m stupid”.

Still following the tortoise, but slightly less aggravated as I understood that he wasn’t responsible, and he probably had no idea he was gumming up the works for me and everyone behind me… or perhaps he just didn’t care. I studied the driver for a few minutes, noticing that he was an older gentleman. Old enough to have gone through the public schools before many turned into secular humanist indoctrination centers. I wondered just where he went wrong.

Eventually he moved over to the center lane and I forgot about his reasons… nothing I could do about it anyway. It did get me thinking about all the old bumper stickers I see as I travel up and down the east coast. I wonder if they are left in place to gloat, prove a point, or if the driver is just to lazy to remove them. Win or loose, I tend to take mine off the morning after the election…. sometimes even election night. At times this is a matter or practicality as my home state of Virginia has elections every year – so the old ones need to make way for the new ones on a fairly tight cycle.

In any case, after the last vote is cast, the sticker loses it’s value and just serves to annoy those who voted the other way. I must confess that after the 2004 I left mine on an extra month or two. My motives, I have to say, were not entirely pure. As I drove to my office many mornings in October, an older gentleman made part of the same run at the same time. He made a variety of gestures at me that weren’t exactly complimentary. I just smiled and waved. Besides those W04 stickers were some of the best ever designed. Read more of this article »

Bill Clinton: The Culture War Is Won!

Posted by Larry Miller on February 8, 2009 under Why | 2 Comments to Read

In a weekend speech to the Democrat faithful and Virginia fat cats, former President Bill Clinton told the crowd “the culture war is won” as he urged his fellow party members to take advantage of this new found power to implement the various schemes that have been on hold for years. Of course the crowd cheered… but will the country? Will you?

I’m willing to concede that the election was won by the nefarious forces of the left – BUT NOT THE WAR! Before we go on, let’s look at some of the changes the former prez would like to see the Obamessiah and his minions in congress pursue.

One item near and dear to the supporters of both is the ability to kill their offspring. The new president already has issued an executive order permitting use of our tax money to fund an increasing array of abortion activities. Many in future generations will not be around to thank him.

The next area to be addressed is the gay agenda where people of the same sex want not only the right to do disgusting things with each other (which they already have) but to have the rest of us accept this behavior as normal and just another option acceptable to us all. It’s not clear at what point pedophilia will be added to the list of acceptable choices. Read more of this article »

Strategy for Pro-Life Candidates

Posted by Lisa Miller on January 23, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

We Christians have an uphill battle for Life. We need to cut the legs out from Government Spending that has usurped commerce, charity and the individuals rights and responsabilities.

As such Pro-Life candidates have to go after the subsidies, grants and tax credits that make life uncompetitive.

Government growth fuels donations to encumbents and makes pro-life candidates David to their Goliath. I suggest candidates aggressively go against the Land Bill, Stimulus, 2nd part of TARP, SCHIP expansion, additional educational funding and propose free markets. When government is both providor and overseer the student, patient, consumer and taxpayer are of secondary importance.

We need government to be an honest “broker” that provides and competitive environment for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Hence we must look to way to remove uncompetitive advantage.

We should go after government abortion funding AND other health services. These should be regulated by government but engaged only by the private sectors of business and charity and individuals who manage their own risks in the market. Read more of this article »

No Time For Whining

Posted by Larry Miller on under Why | Be the First to Comment

Our country has just inaugurated a president who believes the ability of a woman to kill her offspring is more important than the child’s right to live.  This president also believes that a small group of people with a deviant lifestyle should be able to redefine the marriage relationship, if not the ‘official’ definition, created by God.  He also thinks he is making us safer by closing a prison designed to keep those who want to destroy us and our families from doing so.  I could go on… but you get the point.  Things look pretty bad.

The Bible tells us we are to pray for those in authority… and we should.  We should pray that they govern with the fear of God in their hearts.  This, we know, is the beginning of wisdom.  We are also told to submit to ruling authorities and as much as possible live at peace with everyone.

We are particularly blessed to live in a country where, at least for the time being, we can speak up about wrongs and injustices.  This opportunity carries with it, the responsibility to do so.  Sometimes we have to do more.  We would do well to look into the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran pastor, who saw such evil in Nazi Germany that he had to resist… he had to set aside blind obedience to do what was right.  He helped Jews escape.  He spoke the word of truth about Hitler’s government.  Was there a price to following his conscience?  He was hanged shortly before the end war.

Will we have to pay a price for standing up for what is right?  Maybe, but the alternative is to stand by and let the land our children and grand children will grow up in turn into a godless perversion of Ronald Reagan’s Shining City on a Hill.

Fortunately, the price for most of us, is setting aside time to get involved in issues and politics.  Yes, it is that important!  If you are convinced that all politicians are crooks, then get involved and change that.  If there is an issue
you feel strongly about, speak up, find others who think the same way and work together.  DON’T JUST SIT AND DO NOTHING!  Your grand children will thank you… so will others who were simply given the chance to live and play in the summer sun.
