Stamping Out The Disagreeable

Phil Robertson has been kicked off Duck Dynasty indefinitely for speaking out against one of the ruling class’s sacred cows – the homosexual community. To make things worse, he even quoted one of the sources most despised by those who worshiping at the feet of big government – the Bible. It makes no difference to them that our creator made His views perfectly clear in I Corinthians 6:9-10:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

It is common for those who believe in little more than themselves and human wisdom to be critical of the church and Christian teachings. Piers Morgan even had the audacity comment that the anachronistic Catholic Church needs to be dragged kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century – as if changing human values should bring about changes in the church’s teaching.

This is common of those who don’t understand that our Creator’s standards are not up for a vote. The created do not tell the creator what is right and wrong. It is the church and God’s Word that tells the people what is right and wrong. It is this arrogant spirit that manifests itself with greater frequency as a godless government, academia and media keep placing their own interpretation of the meaning of life ahead of the revealed truth that actually works and doesn’t lead to the destruction of our society.

This is just one of the skirmishes in the on going spiritual battle Christians face. Often times we deal with surface issues and miss the underlying meaning of the upheaval taking place in our world. As one homosexual activist explained:

It’s a no-brainer that (homosexual activists) should have the right to marry, but I also think equally that it’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist. …(F)ighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we are going to do with marriage when we get there — because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change, and that is a lie.

Wherever there is a tradition or a value that stands against today’s politically correct “virtues”, it must be destroyed, and it’s not just the values of the Bible, but the values of American courage. The Army War College in Carlisle PA is considering the removal of the pictures of two fine Christian graduates of the US Military Academy at West Point. These generals actually epitomized the values taught at the academy by skillfully defending their homeland despite facing impossible odds.

One can argue about the propriety of Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson taking up arms when their southern homeland was invaded by the Union Army. However for anyone who has studied these men and their role in history, it is impossible to question their sincerity and love of their homeland. The argument for removing their portraits is based on their siding against the US Army. This army is but a branch of the federal government… so it was really standing against the government that was their crime.

It’s understandable how some could see only that these men were noncompliant rebels… particularly in the current environment of paranoia on the part of the Obama regime and political military leadership that has replaced the warrior class in many instances. It is also understandable how the politically correct culture must not honor anyone who exhibited an independent spirit.

Before those who can only see race say, “yeah, they were fighting to hang onto slaves,” it should be noted that, to my knowledge, Jackson never owned any and Lee had freed his. Beyond this, the Emancipation Proclamation was not issued until sometime after the invasion. This is not to say it was not the right thing to do, but it was not the trigger of the north-south conflict. It was not the reason men like Lee and Jackson took up arms.

The point is that in spite of the fact that these two American soldiers were courageous and honorable men, some believe they should not be recognized. Who knows, if people see these men as heroes, they may try to emulate and take up arms against the current government. They, like present day genuine conservatives and tea partiers must be destroyed.

In any case, we are living in a culture where freedom of speech and thought have become subordinated to support of the progressive narrative. It’s like the old Soviet criteria for truth – it had no required relationship to reality, but something was “true” if it advanced the program of the Communist Party.

The regime has the bigger megaphone, but we have the truth. If we combine this with dedication and motivation, we have a chance to defeat the lies of the progressive regime and its motivating source.
