So Hillary Wants To Be A Bank President
After failing in her attempt to become President of the United States, globalist Hillary Clinton has now set her sights on the World Bank. In some ways it fits her ambitions much better than the mere presidency of only one country. The reputed “smartest woman in the world” simply could not be constrained by the borders of a decaying country under the control of a Chicago thug.
Her ambitions, like her supposed abilities are legendary, and the World Bank presidency may be a position designed just for her. Where else could she plunder her own country, along with others, for money to redistribute to the poor and downtrodden in the world. She apparently has visions of being the present day Eleanor Roosevelt who, as William F. Buckley declared, “viewed the world as one vast slum project.”
The World Bank describes itself in this way…
We are not a bank in the ordinary sense but a unique partnership to reduce poverty and support development. We comprise two institutions managed by 187 member countries: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association(IDA). The IBRD aims to reduce poverty in middle-income and creditworthy poorer countries, while IDA focuses exclusively on the world’s poorest countries. These institutions are part of a larger body known as the World Bank Group.
Established in 1944, the World Bank is headquartered in Washington, D.C. We have more than 9,000 employees in more than 100 offices worldwide.
For someone like the former first lady, who is currently part of an administration that shows no compunction about about using foreign aid to advance the destruction of the unborn and traditional marriage, this is so much better than Obama’s job. She would get to hold largely American (or is it Chinese) dollars over the head of petty dictators until comply with her progressive left fantasies.
The real issue, though, is not the presidency of this body, but the existence of the body itself… particularly with our country being the largest contributor. There is concern that a more conservative congress with good economic sense would cut off the flow of funds and the US would lose this esteemed position. It’s kind of like fighting to the biggest investor in one of Bernie Madoff’s ponzi schemes.
The net effect is that our borrowed money is often used to promote values abhorrent to the American people by providing funding for 11.297 projects in 168 countries around the world, and we have absolutely no control over the use and distribution of our funds.
Among the most recent projects touted on their website, is a contribution of $240 million dollars to assist the Muslim brotherhood run Egyptian government acquire new geothermal energy generation capacity. Then there is an $80 million dollar plan in Armenia “to address vulnerability by protecting the poor and supporting greater human capital development, while improving competitiveness by alleviating a selected set of private sector and governance constraints.”
Finally, among so many other boondoggles, the $70 million dollars spent to help the Socialist Republic of Vietnam “to support the Government of Vietnam (GoV) in its efforts to address climate change by adopting policies and strengthening institutional capacity to promote climate resilient and lower carbon intensity development.” It must be like the rice paddies are overrun by Ford Excursions belching death dealing hydrocarbons all over the pristine atmosphere. It should be noted the climate change is an issue near and dear to the black hearts of the World Bank board and president. In fact, it seems there is no amount of the peasants money they would not spend chasing this dubious agenda.
These projects are great news for the corporations supplying the personnel and material needed to implement these projects, but bad news for the taxpayers of the US and other developed countries that must pay for them. The World Bank was a progressive creation of the guilt stricken representatives of the more successful nations so they could feel they were “giving back” to a world their egos believed they could fix.
Over the years, the World Bank has operated, with the twin goals of alleviating poverty and, more recently, saving the environment, they have spent billions and the poor are still poor, and the environment still needs their efforts and our dollars to save the earth, but that money has gone somewhere… and it surely isn’t to the peasants sitting in a jungle hut.
As with most projects of the progressive left, they will tell us, it’s just that they have not had adequate funding. However, for those with common sense, it is plain there was plenty of money and they just spent on projects that, for the most part, should not have been paid for by the international community, or anyone else, in the first place.
So, as far as Hillary Clinton running the World Bank, it would be a good job for her. She could spend tons of taxpayers money, muck up economies around the world, and never be bothered with governing the little people. She would not be responsible for the results, which is the normal progressive position on ill-fated undertakings.
Once again, the real question is not who is going to be the new president of the bank, but why we continue to pour more of our borrowed money down this rat hole. It doesn’t matter who the president of the World Bank is… they will continue its destructive work until we stop assisting them with our dollars.
