Dumb Chicken or Smart Fox?
Which one is worse; the dumb chicken or the smart fox?
The wisest answer to this riddle might appear to be the smart fox, when we consider the culinary and tasty fate of all dumb chickens. But, when I ask this question about these two parties, I am not just asking for you to make an assessment based upon the end result of ignorance. This question is asking for you to also consider the evil that makes the fox smart.
At first glance it might seem that what the disciples described as, “Mary’s wasting of her costly perfume to anoint Yeshua”, was the main motivation behind Judas’ action of betrayal and departure from the Messiah’s leadership. It is bad enough when insubordinate followers question the right and discretion of their leaders.
The truth of the matter is that the roots of betrayal were planted long before Matthew’s dinner and Mary’s sacred act of anointing. Over ambition caused Judas to miss the whole Messianic message of the Messiah, as he saw in Him only the opportunity for the promotion of his own agenda.
Judas was a zealot and held an administrative position of leadership in the Messiah’s ministry as the treasurer (John 12:5- 6). Judas was also some one that that was very comfortable trying to manipulate the direction of the Messiah’s earthly ministry.
Many theologians believe that when Judas saw that Christ was not going the direction that he wanted him to, with regards to overthrowing the Roman rulers of Israel. Judas’ disappointment led to his allowing Satan to use him in deception. After all, if it was just about the money he would not have hung himself when he got paid.
The circle of life often runs full circle with deceivers and manipulators. Judas thought that he was the smart fox in using the Messiah’s ministry to accomplish his objectives, while the High Priest were also looking for a dumb chicken to execute their evil schemes against Yeshua Hamashiach.
Free will and jealousy caused both of these parties to miss all that Christ had to give them. Even though it was Judas’ own free will that put the rope in his hands to hang himself; Judas, who started out as the smart fox, became the dumb chicken when he dangled from the rope.
Yeshua came to deliver the keys to His Kingdom for mankind, but evil is always the dead bolt that will keep the gates of Heaven from opening here on earth.
It was a dark hour down the Via Dolorosa, as that which was and is righteous hobbled along that road to be crucified. During the process of life’s trials and the hours before what may appear to be our crucifixion, it is inevitable that our mind will wonder to how we may have gotten in our predicament, especially when our intentions may be so pure?
Today, I speak a word of encouragement to all of our world wide Members. When G-d is getting ready to stretch you to a new level and bring promotion your way, there will always come a painful pruning stage.
Evil can never be blessed when its schemes are discovered and exposed, it must be rebuked. Darkness has always been separated from light and it has been that way since the beginning (Genesis 1:4).
For some it may even feel like you are being crucified when evil and deception are in the season of their prosperity, but remember on the third day the resurrection power of G-d through the Ruach Ha Kodesh (The Holy Spirit) brought a universal redemption and an unequaled glorification through Yeshua .
Psalm 37:7-9: 7. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 9. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
