Seven Mexican Police Officers Died… Were You Aware?

This weekend, headlines jumped from from the screen of the FoxNews site about a shootout in Ciudad Juarez where drug gangs ambushed two police cars killing seven officers. They did not, however, jump from the screen to visitors of the formerly mainstream media. CNN noted that a 17 year old bystander was killed in a shootout south of the border. It wasn’t until the second paragraph that the article noted seven police officers also died. NBC made no mention and CBS made a small note of the event. Why would this be?

Then, over in Morelia, Mexico, Public Safety Director of the western state of Michoacan was attacked by gunmen armed with “assault” rifles and grenades. She was wounded, but survived, however four others did not. We have some extremely violent lawlessness taking place in our neighbor to the south.

The timing of this brutality was especially unfortunate for those whose current talking points included the trashing of Arizona which was taking steps to defend themselves against the importation of this Mexican violence. The President, who is actively working to legalize the illegal, called the states actions irresponsible. Others have called them unconstitutional and ill advised, threatening lawsuits. Demonstrations, some violent in themselves, sprung up criticizing Arizona’s efforts at self defense… but as of this writing, the law is still scheduled to go into effect this summer.

The law is portrayed as giving the police unwarranted power to stop people and demand identification as well as proof of legal immigration status. They say it will bring about racial profiling and unreasonable police intrusion into the lives of legal residents. This we are told is unconstitutional. This line is enhanced by the lack of negative coverage of violence across the Rio Grande. What they don’t take into account is that a bullet from a drug dealers gun penetrating ones skull is kind of a bummer that the government should be trying to prevent.

We are told that most illegals in the country are not causing trouble and are just trying to make a decent living for their families. We can start out with this thinking, but recognizing that just by being here, they are showing disrespect for our country and our laws. Illegal workers are still coming, even though we are dealing with a ten percent plus unemployment rate. Businesses with resources are still getting their cheap labor and Americans who are looking to keep their families together are getting the short end of the stick… and even if they still have work, they are taxed to pay for benefits for those abusing our generosity. The next step is to funnel all these people into a bankrupt social security system.

The fact is that police would only be following the description of the perpetrators. It is a fact is that we have many people sneaking across the border from Mexico. Logic tells us they would look like Mexicans. Some will say this is racial profiling… yet, if Swedes were slipping in illegally, would we not be justified in checking out light skinned folks with blond hair and blue eyes?

People are fed up and frightened about crime spilling across the border. The rancher killed on his own property, drugs coming through the promised, but not delivered fence and all sorts of other problems flowing into their state are leaving Arizona residents ready to explode. The law as been called a “primal scream” coming from a population dragged into a country they don’t want and will not tolerate.

The beltway bandits can complain and criticize all they want, but it will not change the fact that they are living in a different world than that of real Americans who love their country and their families, and work to keep the whole thing running. The Obamessiah’s vision of fairness is that someone else pays for the benefit of his followers while Joe Lunchbox believes he should be able to take care of his own family and help those he choses to… and not have half his income taken against his will. This is a practice otherwise known as stealing.

So as we see our “betters” giving away our land and our jobs in exchange for votes, there is a justified anger at the leaders of both parties for placing their electoral fortunes above concern for their constituents. It’s not just a Barack Obama thing, it’s a pervasive unwillingness to secure the borders that would protect us from a variety of criminals… from the petty thief to the much discussed Islamofascist terrorists intent on creating “man-made disasters”.
