Under The Radar: Net Neutrality Attacking Free Speech

netneutralityThe Federal Communications Commission (FCC) owns the airwaves that we receive radio broadcasts and also has oversight on the internet. This weekend the FCC plans to make final policy rules on “Net Neutrality” which in essence establishes a requirement that “equal time” or equal access must be provided for all points of view on the internet. In essence this translate to violating free speech by limiting and controlling content. The victory of Comcast over the FCC may prevent the FCC from enforcing its Net Neutrality rules because there is no law being violated and therefore does not have the teeth to compel enforcement. Notwithstanding the FCC’s loss in Federal Appeals Court, the FCC continues to move forward with the release and enforce of Net Neutrality policies later this week.

US law grants power to the FCC to “directly regulate” the telecommunications industry. However, the FCC does not classify the internet (broadband) as telecommunications but as an “information service.” Due to this “distinction” the internet must be regulated differently. In a 2002 US Supreme Court decision, the FCC does have “limited” and “ancillary” authority to regulate the internet as an information service. Statist progressive FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski is strongly committed to Net Neutrality and is proceeding forward despite court reversals.

Since the 2002 decision the communist publication “Free Press” led by Statist Progressive Robert McKenzie has been assaulting the decision and advocating for a strong regulation of the internet under the Transform Media label. Net Neutrality is in reality designed to silence critics of socialism and totalitarianism by ensuring pro and con content must be equal and accessible. This also impacts accessibility to pornography, cults and other items that most Americans want nothing to do with. The Free Press is a very strong advocate for Net Neutrality and has launched several websites under the banners of “Keep the Internet Free” and “Save the Internet.” It has long been a ploy of the communists to usurp and pervert the language of freedom to accomplish the schemes of oppression and slavery. The internet just doesn’t get any freer than it is right now. Several “additional” proposals were advanced by the Free Press on Net Neutrality which limits free speech and utterly destroys the telecommunication and Information Technology economy. I will concede that I’m not the brightest bulb on the Marques, but can someone explain to me how one “Saves” free speech by taking it away?

The Statist Progressive White House is another major advocate of Net Neutrality. President Obama is often heard whining about how there is so much disinformation and lies about him and his programs being advanced by Fox and the internet. Obama defines a lie as anything that is opposed to him or his proposals. He believes that truth is relative and the ends justify the means. If he did not believe and advocate these principles, Health Care Reform would have remains in the ash heap is is destined for. The White House is moving to silence its critics and is committed to accomplishing these ends prior to the 2012 elections. Obama cronies like Statist Progressive Andy Stern of the SEIU, Activist Pastor Jim Wallace who replaced Radical Liberation Theology Pastor Jeremiah Wright; and self-proclaimed communist Van Jones are all involved in advocating for Net Neutrality.

Hard working Americans must let their voice be heard as well. Contact the FCC today and say NO to Net Neutrality!
