The People Are Just Beginning To Speak
The people of Massachusetts have again fired a shot that will echo around the world. As with his intercession in Virginia, New Jersey and Copenhagen, Barack Hussein Obama came to town intending for his rhetorical skills and magnetic personality to sway the little people and make them bend to his will. As with his previous ventures, the persuasive verbiage scrolling through the teleprompter fell on deaf ears and he returned to the public housing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue empty handed.
When Senator Kennedy assumed room temperature, it was just assumed by the news media that another Democrat would be sitting in his (make that the people’s) seat. It was assumed by the Resident that he would continue to have two Democrat senators from the Bay State. Even Republicans assumed they were going nowhere in this special election. THEY WERE WRONG!
Before Republicans begin crowing about a tremendous victory for their party, they need to acknowledge that it was really a victory for the people who are outraged by the shenanigans inside the beltway and fearful for the future of their country. So many of the people that are mocked as tea baggers by the side that actually caters to such types, helped secure this victory by making phone calls through an incredible online system and by traveling to the inhospitable winter climate in the northeast.
Fortunately, Scott Brown was perceptive enough to understand the anger and frustration on the part the American people… even those in the liberal enclave of Massachusetts. Unlike even some of his party leaders, he understood that the people had legitimate concerns and had the wisdom and humility to listen and care about the people’s concerns.
We, and the people of Massachusetts, are indeed fortunate that Brown’s was a significant victory, not just squeaking by with a few hundred votes as happened in Minnesota. They difference was too great to be covered by ballots found in the trunk of a car or glitches in a few voting machines. Maybe I’m underestimating the will and creativity of the Democrats, but you just can’t fudge the numbers that much.
Brown may not be the ideal Republican or conservative that many of us would like, but we have to remember he won in the heart of Kennedyland. He may be the best we can get in this dark blue state. He will be a welcome change in this seat and will be a thorn in the side of the arrogant White House. This, in itself, has value as it can throw them off their game.
On the plus side, the man drives a pickup truck. There is not too much room for a chauffeur in such a vehicle. It’s also a sign of practicality that his detractors from the Resident on down cannot comprehend. People in certain circles not only don’t know anyone who drives one, they have convinced themselves that, for some reason, they are better and smarter than the poor schlubs that need or enjoy them.
Beyond this, Scott Brown became a warrior defending the average Americans against attacks from Washington. He promised to be the 41st vote to stop the Democrat health care scheme. He didn’t beat Martha Coakley, he defeated Barack Hussein Obama. Coakley was just the proxy as the good people of Massachusetts understood the implications and connections of her victory.
Congratulations to Scott Brown! Congratulations to the patriots in and out of Massachusetts that gave the country, not only this great victory, but another chance to save our republic. We’ve learned that we, the people, can defeat ACORN, SEIU, UAW and the host of special interests that have their sites set on our bank accounts and our freedom. The war is not over, but we can learn a lot from this victory if only we will.
