Forgetting Those Things Which Are Behind

Posted by Larry Miller on December 31, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

drag-racerNew Years Day is a new beginning, an opportunity to start over. It is a chance to draw a line at the end of an old year and start fresh. It’s not that last year’s problems have gone away. We still have Barack Hussein Obama in the White House with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi running congress. The problems they are creating are still with us… but that is all outside of each one of us. The new beginning is within each one of us, if will give it space.

In his book, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Steven Covey’s tells us that public victories are invariably preceded by private, internal victories. Before we can change the world around us, we need to overcome ourselves. We need to master our own inertia. That is the bad habits such as television rather than real action, hesitancy to speak up, failure to seek necessary knowledge and the like. Everyone of us who is not pleased with what we accomplished over the past year… whether it be in the personal, business or political sphere is most likely aware of one or more factors holding them back.

This leaves us with two choices: we can just say I am what I am and can’t (or won’t) do any more, or we can work toward fixing the shortcoming. When confronted with this type of situation, all those on the left can do is fix the blame. We were not created that we. We were not created to live as victims, but were placed here to make a difference in the world. To say we can’t change is saying that the redemptive work of Jesus Christ isn’t quite up to the task in our case. I, for one, am not about to tell Him that! Read more of this article »

Be Fruitful and Multiply in 2010

wheatfieldsGenesis 1:28 (KJV) “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

The first covenant that God made with mankind is one that is certain to bring increase if we follow the process. G-d told Adam in Eden: to be fruitful and then multiply and then replenish the earth. This process is for a purpose: Phase 1: Be fruitful; Phase 2: Multiply; Phase 3: Replenish. What you receive in the phase of your calling to fruitfulness will sustain, uphold and defend you in the second and third stages of your multiplication and replenishing.

No other group of people has understood this simple principle better than the Jewish people but, unfortunately no other people has ever had to suffer like them for the multiplication and increase that their fruitfulness has brought.

Apart from the incorrect allegation of deicide – the Jews being responsible for killing Jesus (Yeshua)- the number one reason that many historians have said that most people hate Jews is because, “they possess too much wealth and power.” Read more of this article »

Things That Go Bump In The Night

Posted by Larry Miller on December 29, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

interpol2Yes indeed, contrary to the stories we tell our children, there are things that go bump in the night. It is particularly scary, or at least it should be, when they go bumping around the White House like they did on the night of December 16, 2009. That is the night that Barack Hussein Obama issued Executive Order 12425 that eliminated many Reagan era restrictions on INTERPOL, the international police force populated by many of the same types of people that make the UN so hostile to American values and sovereignty.

The conservative/libertarian blogosphere is all atwitter about this abdication of United States authority, and they are correct. However, I believe they are missing one critical point. These are the same people who were prepared to arrest Israeli leaders in Great Britain under claims from Palestinian states. These are also the same people who would love to get their hands on CIA operatives and American soldiers who were simply doing their jobs… in the way they were trained.

One of the major affronts to our sense of justice and rights of the accused are immunity from the restrictions of our Fourth Amendment which states: Read more of this article »

A Suggested Survival List

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on December 28, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

survivalOne does not have to be a prophet to know that we are on the precipice of some potentially catastrophic–or at the very least, challenging–days. In fact, most of us are already in challenging days, and some are already enduring catastrophic events. That is, if one would call being out of work, losing one’s home, facing life-threatening medical conditions without any prospect of medical insurance, several families being forced to live in one house due to homes being foreclosed, etc., catastrophic.

The potential for an escalation of cataclysmic events, however, is very real. Only a “blooming idiot” would call someone who attempts to prepare for “the day of adversity” a Chicken Little now. Anyone who does not see the storm clouds on the horizon isn’t paying attention.

For example, can one imagine what would happen if terrorists nuked a major American city or cities? (Once again, I encourage readers to go get the videos of the CBS TV series “Jericho” to get an idea of how quickly life, and even civilization, could change.) Imagine if there was another 9/11-type event. What would happen if some form of Zimbabwe-style inflation hit the US? What would happen if anything disrupted the distribution of Welfare checks, or food to local grocers? Imagine a Hurricane Katrina-style natural disaster in your town. I think people everywhere are beginning to awaken to just how vulnerable we all really are. Read more of this article »

It’s About The Children

Posted by Larry Miller on December 27, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

childrenThe morning after Christmas, I sat watching my four year old grandson play, sometimes with his new toys, sometimes with his “old” ones. His little imagination taking him to who knows where as he was blissfully unaware of the plans afoot to destroy the health care system that brought him through several severe allergy attacks, place his higher education plans at the mercy of government bureaucrats and enslave him for a year or two in compulsory government service. He doesn’t know the value of the money used to buy him food, clothing and, yes, toys, is headed toward the devaluation that comes from ill advised economic policies.

Later in the day, four more grandsons arrived along with their parents. They are older and more aware of dangers – economic and physical that we face as a nation. One is ready to enter the world of higher education and is looking into the few institutions not dedicated to inflicting the leftist agenda on those working hard to meet the financial demands they place on their students. It seems that the struggle is getting more difficult every year.

Some of us may accept the anticipated hard times in our future as the natural result of Christians failing to do their job… hiding behind church doors, with so many shunning involvement in public affairs. Too often, even strong believes, have accepted the lie that religious convictions have no place in the arena of public discourse. Read more of this article »

The First Christmas

nativityAnd it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Read more of this article »

Hey… Let’s Not Forget It’s Christmas!

Posted by Larry Miller on December 23, 2009 under Why | Read the First Comment

MadonnaIt’s easy to get distracted and take our attention off of the things that matter most in our lives. Today we have our government – the one we supposedly own and we are definitely paying for – doing its level best to destroy our health care, our economy and our freedom. Many of us are doing what we can to stop this rush into political madness. While we cannot loose sight of this struggle, we cannot neglect other more personal, and even more important events and people.

We cannot permit these people who are pillaging our country to steal our Christmas spirit. Many people are in a constant state of anger… so mad they could spit… and this means that Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama and his henchmen have also succeeded in taking away the happiness of the season and joy of our friends and family. It also means that we have had our attention taken away from the real meaning of Christmas… the birth of our Savior… and all that implies.

Among the things this season promises is that we will never left alone or forsaken to the whims of the evil one. That is Lucifer… not BHO… the man child is just not THAT powerful… and we need to remember this! He is just a puppet manipulated to steal our joy. We need to remember that as well. Christmas is a time to remember the birth of Jesus. It is the season to spend time with our families, especially those we don’t see too often. Read more of this article »

The Birth Of Christ And The Birth Of America Are Linked

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on December 22, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

DeclarationIndependenceAs we approach the celebration of Christ’s birth, I am reminded of the words of John Quincy Adams. On July 4, 1837, he spoke these words:

“Why is it that, next to the birthday of the Savior of the world, your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day? … Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth. That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity, and gave to the world the first irrevocable pledge of the fulfillment of the prophecies announced directly from Heaven at the birth of the Savior and predicted by the greatest of the Hebrew prophets six hundred years before?”

Adams was exactly right: America’s birth is directly linked to the birth of our Savior. In fact, the United States of America is the only nation established by Christian people, upon Biblical principles, and dedicated to the purpose of religious liberty. This truth is easily observed within America’s earliest history. Read more of this article »

Wilberforce: Proof That Incrementalism Works?

Posted by Bob Kyfffin on December 21, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

William WilberforceWilliam Wilberforce is a hero in the eyes of most of us in the pro-life movement. He’s an inspiration to all of us.

However, his work against slavery in Britain is often cited (by incrementalists) as proof that “incrementalism works.” This claim not only mistakes the lesson we should take from his astonishing life, but also denigrates the true values that he held dear – those based upon a conviction in the God-given Rights to Life and Freedom.

The growing Personhood Wing of the pro-life movement holds that “any law which says ‘do this, and then you can kill the baby (or own the slave)’” is an evil regulation Christians should never support. Did Wilberforce support such laws during his nearly half-century of crusading? Yes. Have many sincere pro-lifers done so, even those who now support Personhood? Yes. The problem is not the person – it’s the naïve, emotional position they hold for a time.

Most supporters of Personhood once supported laws such as the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, or waiting periods. Some didn’t, but they are few. The intellectual path from incrementalism to abolitionism is a long, hard one. We can’t condemn someone for not “getting the concept” right away. All we can do is ask them to consider, and to learn. Anger With Federal Government Not Enough

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on December 20, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

US-CapitolAccording to Rasmussen Reports, “Seventy-one percent (71%) of voters nationwide say they’re at least somewhat angry about the current policies of the federal government. That figure includes 46% who are Very Angry.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 27% are not angry about the government’s policies, including 10% who are Not at All Angry.”

The report goes on to say, “The data suggests that the level of anger is growing. The 71% who are angry at federal government policies today is up five percentage points since September.

“Even more stunning, the 46% who are Very Angry is up 10 percentage points from September.”

The report also states, “The latest numbers show that only nine percent (9%) of voters trust the judgment of America’s political leaders more than the judment of the American people.” It further states, “Seventy-one percent (71%) believe the federal government has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interests. Sixty-eight percent (68%) believe that government and big business work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors.” Read more of this article »

What About DDT?

Posted by Larry Miller on December 18, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

mosquitoYesterday I received a rather hostile response to the Copenhagen article. Not only did the reader argue with the facts, but criticized my use of a “non-Christian” source. My initial thoughts were to dash off a quick response to one who obviously is on the enviro bandwagon – one who believes DDT was damaging to both the humans and world we all live in. However, if there is one, I’m sure there are others who may believe this way and because of this, a more in depth discussion is in order. Keeping in mind that books have been written on the subject and the only thing I can do in this venue is hit the high points (or in this case, low points) of the DDT story.

To begin with, as far as citing a “non-Christian” source, here are a few points to ponder. First, I do not know the spiritual circumstances of the filmmakers in question, besides which, all truth is God’s truth. It does not matter who is presenting it. An honest secular scientist when observing and measuring God’s universe will have the same results as a Christian scientist. He may draw different conclusions, or have a different understanding, perhaps, but what he sees, if he wants the truth, will be the truth. There are no Christian microscopes, telescopes, thermometers or even rain gauges.

Second, since the initial criticism was that of a non-Christian film, I have to inquire of the spiritual status of Rachel Carson, who began the DDT panic, as well as those who slavishly followed her in demagoguing the issue to the point of having the life saver banned. The argument cuts both ways. If we are to reject Mr. McAleer’s film, we most like have to reject Ms. Carson’s book. Read more of this article »

A Voice of Sanity

A Voice of Sanity

The last few days articles have brought more hate mail than usual from panic stricken “warmers” who are scared silly that we’ll be successful in stopping the rush to fix our supposedly overheated planet and we will all drown as polar ice caps melt and oceans overwhelm the land. These fragile souls have been conditioned by our educational establishment, formerly mainstream media and our government to believe all sorts of doomsday predictions… often to the point of irrationality.

They have heard Algore. Barack Hussein Obama and a host of other people with high positions, but little schooling in climatology, tell us that the science is settled… that arguments are over and the decision has been made: we are on the eve of destruction. The unfortunate thing about this is that most everyone promoting the man-made global warming theory has some sort of financial or political stake in the issue. There is no question about how former Vice President and erstwhile internet inventor Algore is enriching himself by perpetrating this fraud. Companies standing by with their hands out for government money all have a vested interest in reinforcing our belief, as do the refugees from the 60’s who are now tenured professors living on generous climate change study grants.

Dr. Michaels is a respected professor at the University of Virginia, climatologist at the CATO Institute and member of the UN’s IPCC. He has actually seen the data, and knows how to interpret it. We would do well to take his evaluation more seriously than amateur weather buffs who have no idea what is behind the computer models that have initiated and fueled this panic. Dr. Michaels is also one that the Climategate emails suggested that someone would like to do bodily harm because of his honesty. Now is the time for each of us to keep our head about us and use them for more than a hat rack as my grand parents used to say.

Copenhagen: the Real Story

Posted by Larry Miller on December 16, 2009 under Why | 5 Comments to Read

coplogoThere’s a lot going on over in Copenhagen, and many may be surprised to learn that the big brouhaha is not about cap and tax or even Algore’s oversized carbon footprint. Now Nancy Pelosi is pushing to adjourn the House so she can join the party in Denmark and see what additional damage she can do. Even the Director of the UN’s Climate Change Support Team, Janos Pasztor, has been quoted by the Heritage Foundation as saying, “This is not a climate-change negotiation … It’s about something much more fundamental. It’s about economic strength.”

The developing countries are claiming the United States, along with other western democracies, owe their assemblage of third world dictators 100 billion dollars a year. The city is abuzz with useful idiots who actually believe New York and Miami are destined to sink beneath the sea. They tend toward anarchist thinking and those that can read can quote chapter and verse of Marx, Lenin and Mao. There is an overwhelming correlation between militant environmentalism and pernicious socialism.

It turns out that carbon emissions are not even the enemy… capitalism is! The capitalism that took root where free people could work for the benefit of themselves and their families, instead of the “collective good”. It is the capitalism that brought people the highest standard of living in the world. It is the capitalism that was stifled in the controlled economies of both petty and major dictatorships. It is the capitalism that proved economic planning did not work… that those seeking control over their countries were driving them into the ground… and it had to be stopped. Climate Change – Bah Humbug!

Posted by Larry Miller on December 15, 2009 under How | Be the First to Comment

goreStupidFormer vice president and famed inventor of internet, Algore, had to take time following his triumphant appearance at the Copenhagen climate conference before an apparently adoring crowd to wipe some egg from his face when it was discovered that his declaration that there was a 75% chance that the northern polar ice cap would be completely melted during summer months within five to seven years. His sited source, Dr. Wieslav Maslowski said, “Whoa… he didn’t get that from me” or words to that effect. The good doctor said there way no way the data he supplied to the Goracle could lead to this dramatic conclusion.

This comes only weeks after emails revealed the deceptive underpinnings of the global warming come climate change movement. To one who values truth and honesty, it casts a light of disrepute on the entire operation. To one committed to the controlling the world, or who actually believes we are on the eve of destruction, Algore’s missteps and conspriratorial emails are but speed bumps that cannot be permitted to stop the economic and social juggernaut that it “climate change”.

Unfortunately our President, Barack Hussein Obama, is one who is unfazed by the complete lack of proof that the earth is heating up because of our evil SUVs… other than several defective computer models generated by true global warming believers. With the enthusiasm of an uninformed zealot, he is pressing forward with whatever plans, regulations and restrictions on the American people he and his cohorts can come up with. Is Obama Really Preparing For Civil War?

Posted by Chuck Baldwin on under Why | Be the First to Comment

soldier-and-flagAccording to an obscure report in the European Union Times (EUTimes.net), “Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin that US President Barack Obama has issued an order to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to ‘begin immediately’ increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

“According to these reports, Obama has had over these past weeks ‘numerous’ meetings with his war council abut how best to manage the expected implosion of his Nation’s banking system while at the same time attempting to keep the United States military hegemony over the World in what Russian Military Analysts state is a ‘last ditch gambit’ whose success is ‘far from certain.’”

The EU Times article continues by saying, “To the fears of Obama over the United States erupting into civil war once the full extent of the rape and pillaging of these peoples by their banks and government becomes known to them, grim evidence now shows the likelihood of this occurring much sooner than later.”

The Times story goes on to say that there are “over 220 million American people armed to the teeth and ready to explode.” Read more of this article »

Too Gentlemanly to Succeed

minuteman2First congress votes to cut off funding for ACORN… but not really. It was just a temporary freeze on funding the controversial group. Now a US District Judge has ruled that cutting of funds in any way is not in the publics interest. If it has not occurred to you by now, we are not working in an environment where concepts of right and wrong, as well as honesty are of little or no importance. To the elites running the country, the end justifies the means… and often the ends they seek are not even worthy of virtuous means.

The constitution says congress makes the laws people have to live by. But now, Barack Hussein Obama’s Environmental Protective Agency head Lisa Jackson has proclaimed that if congress does not pass the desired cap and trade legislation her agency would begin their own version of the plan destined to destroy jobs and squeeze more money out of beleaguered taxpayers. Once again, the end justifies the means.

Combine this with the unwillingness of our employees… our elected representatives… to hear us when overwhelming majorities of our citizens tell them we want our borders sealed, we don’t want government tinkering with our health care, we don’t like them looking for ways to take our guns and we don’t want what is euphemistically called cap and trade. How Much Debt?

Sometimes we see such large numbers, we have trouble comprehending their magnitude and relating them to other massive expenditures. This video puts the current debt and financial commitments of the Obama administration into perspective. Without this perspective, it is impossible to do more than say, “Wow, that’s a lot of money!”

With this perspective, it is possible to see the damage being done to our country. With this perspective, how can one sit back and do nothing as they say the honor our founding fathers. This massive debt, combined with the planned intrusions into our lives dwarfs anything the British monarch did in Patrick Henry’s day.

Look into the eyes of your children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces… then decide what you are going to do about this.

Mall of Shame

nativityUnless you’ve been living under a rock, you are well aware that we are full swing into the Christmas shopping season. This is the season that puts dollars in the pockets of online as well as brick and mortar stores. This is the season that determines the success or failure of most retail establishments. This is the time of year when many people find seasonal employment to help themselves and their families through the expensive holiday season. Yet… many of these who not only benefit, but survive based on the results of their efforts this time of year make a concerted effort to disregard the real reason we celebrate this time of year.

Schools have long since fallen into the politically corrupt mindset of calling the Christmas Holiday the Winter Break. They are so afraid of offending a few Christ deniers that they disregard the majority who actually understand why we celebrate the Christmas holiday.

In a recent non-scientific study by John Stossel, recently of the state run media, currently with FoxNews found that some stores are more Christmas friendly than others. In some ways their approach to the holiday season reflected their perceived or desired market… something we may want to consider when passing out our gift-giving dollars. Read more of this article »

Light The Menorah; Judaism and Christianity are Inseparable!

Posted by Alexis Wallace on December 9, 2009 under How | 2 Comments to Read

menorrahA lively debate erupted in the head lines of the Bahamian media last year regarding the placement of the menorah amongst the Christmas decorations of the capital city. A few vocal people were disgusted that the Bahamas, “as a Christian nation”, would so prominently display a menorah amongst its Christmas decorations down town Nassau.

It was a pleasure adding my voice of opposition to that debate, because I believe that ignorance is more dangerous than it is bliss. Judaism and Christianity are inseparable! It is impossible for Christianity to be separated from its Judaic roots. But before we get into that discussion, I am sure that some of our Partners are wondering, “Just what is a menorah, and why is it important?”

First of all, there are different types of menorahs. They are most distinguishable by the varying number of branches on them. The menorah is a candelabrum that has been a symbol of Judaism for almost 3,000 years. The seven branched candelabrum is the emblem of Israel and was used in the ancient Temple in Jerusalem. What Is Totalitarianism? – Part II

Posted by Larry Miller on December 8, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

obamaIn the first part of this essay, we defined totalitarianism as the state-orchestrated dissolution of the private sphere, initiated by an ideologically-driven political organization with the goal of exercising total control over the population of a country. In the words of the father of Italian fascism, Giovanni Gentile, the totalitarian state seeks “total representation of the nation and total guidance of national goals.” While this control is most obvious and pronounced under a dictatorship, it is not entirely absent in democratic republics. A legislature may vote in favor of a totalitarian state just as easily as a dictator may impose one.

This is totalitarianism in theory, but in order to fully understand what totalitarianism is, we must recognize it in practice. In practice, totalitarianism is expressed in the mass surveillance of the public, in laws that criminalize a broad range of activities usually reserved for individual discretion, as well as in direct government interference in matters of business and religion. These laws are enacted with the purpose of organizing a country around a particular social, political, and economic ideology—such as Marxist-Leninism, Islamism, State Corporatism, etc.—and to restrict dissent against that ideology. There are several areas that have become fertile ground for the growth of totalitarianism in recent years: the Internet, electronic surveillance, and thought crime.

The Internet, as the most obvious symbol of the free exchange of ideas in the contemporary world, has routinely come under attack by totalitarians of all stripes. The People’s Republic of China , for instance, maintains a force of over 30,000 “Internet police,” who monitor the country’s estimated 338 million Internet users. Among other restrictions, no one in China may use the Internet to “incite to overthrow the government or the socialist system,” “injure the reputation of state organs,” or “promote feudal superstitions.” Most of these regulations can be broadly interpreted to shut down any dissent—or even discussion to that effect—against the state or its official ideology. China’s Internet police monitor discussion groups and chat rooms and erase comments that are deemed unsympathetic to the government. Keywords such as “Falun Gong” and “Red Terror” are blocked on search engines. Read more of this article »

What Is Totalitarianism? – Part I

Posted by Larry Miller on December 7, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

Mussolini and HitlerIf the United States came under the control of a totalitarian regime, would we recognize it? This question is of utmost importance today, when many of us harbor fears that some time in the near future ideas such as freedom, liberty, and privacy will be alien to our society. But as we witness the regular passage of legislation designed to restrict and regulate, and the tendency of the Federal government to increase rather than decrease its power (with a handful of exceptions), we are struck by the uninterrupted routine of life in the USA . As the central government brings more and more of private society under its control, we continue to watch cable TV, shop at supermarkets overflowing with products, and eat at our favorite restaurants. Could it be that we have already passed that dreaded threshold and missed it?

The trouble with diagnosing our condition is that most people are unaware of what totalitarianism actually is. Among even the most politically astute, there is little mental room for the possibility that a state in the process of becoming totalitarian might lack the most brutal and outward signs of oppressive regimes portrayed in popular culture. Because of our rather simplistic frame of reference—picture black and white images of National Socialist Germany or the Soviet Union —we recognize a country as either being in the advanced stages of totalitarianism or not at all. But just because a state maintains the structures and language of democracy and continues to have elections, for instance, that does not preclude it from being totalitarian.

In fact, North Korea has a constitution and holds regular elections with three competing political parties—the Workers’ Party of Korea , the Korean Social Democratic Party, and the Chondoist Chongu Party—all united under an organization called the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland. In April 2009, North Korea revised its constitution to include Article 8, which reads, “The State respects and protects the human rights of the workers, peasants and working intellectuals who have been previously freed from exploitation and oppression and have become masters of the State and society.” Yet North Korea is recognized as being one of the most oppressive totalitarian states in the world. Dick Cheney for President?

Posted by Larry Miller on December 6, 2009 under How | 2 Comments to Read

dick20cheneyIt has recently come to my attention that political consultant Christopher Barron has filed papers to form a “Draft Cheney in 2012” organization. Former Vice President Cheney says “Not a chance!” as he has no desire to leave retirement and the unpressurized free time with his family. Yet Barron believes that Cheney is the answer to the Republican identity problem.

He promotes Cheney as the conservative answer to the statist plunge of the current administration. Before moving on, let me say that Dick Cheney has served his country well and is worthy of our respect and appreciation. He was one of the more thoughtful and intelligent men to ever hold public office. I think that, in spite of his capabilities, this is not the best choice at this time… or any, considering that he will be 71 when the election is held.

What then would be reason for promoting Cheney… particularly in view of the irrational hatred and fear some have for anything connected with the Bush administration. Perhaps Barron’s position as consultant to the Log Cabin Republicans may give a hint. The group, and Mr. Barron, in particular claim a conservative viewpoint. In many areas I believe this is possible… yet on some key issues they just don’t mesh with mainstream conservative positions. Beyond this the situation with Cheney’s daughter would incline him to be more sympathetic to their agenda. Read more of this article »

The Truth Comes Out

Posted by Larry Miller on December 4, 2009 under Why | Be the First to Comment

It’s amazing how all the hype about man made climate change came crashing down a few days ago when hundreds a emails sent amongst the global warming elite were made public showing the entire premise of the movement was built on fabricated (they called it enhanced) data. Even John Stewart, hardly a conservative icon, noted the irony that word spread of Algore’s crumbling message on the internet he tells us he invented. Michael Savage said those who made these messages public were doing God’s work. It could be true as I believe He has a sense of humor when it comes to the foolishness of men (and women… not to neglect the other half of the population).

Algore at least had the common sense to keep a low profile and cancel his appearance at the upcoming Copenhagen conference. Barack Hussein Obama has not, up to this point. He is still committed to imposing all sorts of controls and regulations on the free American people to bring us into compliance with the wishes of UN bureaucrats, of all people. Apparently he believes his silver tongued teleprompter reading will be sufficient to sway those of us with common sense as it did the unwashed masses during his presidential campaign. Homeland Security Or Homeland Enslavement?

dhs2By now, most readers are familiar with the story of how a Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, crashed the White House State Dinner last Tuesday evening. President and Mrs. Obama were entertaining Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the first official State Dinner of the new administration. The Salahis were not on the invited guest list, but were still allowed to walk right into the White House. They even had face-to-face conversations with both President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Photographs of the Salahis with the President and Vice President have been published in numerous newspapers and on hundreds of web sites.

I wonder if the American people are thinking this episode through? Think of it: in the post-9/11 world, a world that has invented the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), body scanners, retina readers, the Patriot Act, hundreds of laws and regulations restricting the freedoms and liberties of the American people, thousands of cameras photographing our public movements, and satellite spy devices, a couple can walk right into the White House and meet the President and Vice President without being invited!

stopDemocrats call the Republicans “The Party of No”. Tea partiers want them to be called “The Party of Hell No!” When in reality, they are often “The Party of No Vision”. With the power crazed Democrats in control, pushing the boundaries of government in every possible direction, like a deer frozen in the headlights of an oncoming car, many Republicans can only think to say “NO!” to every hair brained scheme coming from the left. Others, without an ethical compass come up with the conciliatory attitude of negotiation so they can act like they have accomplished something. There are a few who are trying to give the party a sense of vision, but they tend to scare the old line party leaders unaccustomed to such principled stands and internal conflict.

The “no vision” moniker is based on a fair assumption that people make when they believe the Republican Party has no agenda. It was an agenda called “The Contract With America” that brought victories during the Clinton administration. The original contract outlined a set of specific steps required to correct the various flaws and abuses in the operation of our government. Over the years, some who came to office by advocating these changes gradually succumbed to the lure of beltway society and have become part of the problem.

It is only the disgust with Democrat intrusion into our lives that gives the Republican Party any sense of life at this point. For the most part, they do not have the agenda, drive or support to take off and soar. Republicans find themselves in a situation of just responding to plans from the other side of the aisle. It is time to regroup and plan for steps to undo these unconstitutional efforts. But to do this, the party and its individual representatives must have a vision of where they should be heading. Good Grief, Charlie Brown!

charliebrownIt’s sad, but the Barack Hussein Obama has decided to take his West Point photo op at a time when children all across the country would be sitting down to watch Charlie Brown and his friend celebrate Christmas.  We sould have realized the unrestrained ego of this man  when gave the Queen of Great Britain an iPod filled with his speeches.  In any case, maybe it’s time to run out and rent the video to keep the young minds from being poluted the words that scroll by on the official teleprompter.

This is just one more time when our narcissitic “leader” presses forward with no consideration for the consequences.  For myself, perhaps I will just sit down with an OnDemand movie.  At least the movie is labled as a fantasy… but then, we know the speech is as well.  Unfortunately, some of our gallant soldiers are going to pay a much higher price for this fantasy than “Commander in Chief”.
