More Thoughts On Political Correctness

I had the fortune of hearing Brigitte Gabriel a few years ago and was struck by the clarity of her message. Political correctness is, on one hand, a method of controlling the expressed thoughts and actions of the masses through social and, sometimes, legal, pressures. On the other hand, it attempts to clear the way for the one message our “betters” want us to hear and act on. It comes from the halls of academia which is supposed to be the bastion of free thought and expression. However, in practice, thought is only free if it stays within the confines of the leader’s wishes. Other expression is deemed anti-social and must be restricted for the smooth functioning of the progressive agenda at work in most universities, media outlets and government agencies.

Ms Gabriel was born in Marjayoun, Lebanon, a small town near the Israeli border to a Christian family.

For seven years, she, along and her parents had to live in an 8′x10′ underground bomb shelter. They had no electric and only a small space heater. To get water, she had to crawl along the road in a ditch to keep from being a target for Muslim snipers.

In 1978, her family was warned of an impending attack on Christians by militias. However, that night, her life was saved when Israelis invaded Lebanon in Operation Litani. Her mother was injured severely but her life was spared in an Israeli hospital whose care gave lie to the anti-Semitic propaganda she had heard all her life.

With a life story like that it is easy to understand the passion she feels for telling the truth and exposing radical Islam. The Bible says the truth will set us free. Political correctness acts to inhibit the truth. People have and will contintue to call anyone who opposes Barack Hussein Obama and his agenda, a racist, nazi or any other kind of name in the hopes that it will shut us up. We cannot let this happen.

Glenn Beck says we should “question with boldness”… and we should. If we are intimidated by the statists, we just may not deserve our freedom.

I appreciate the warnings of Mrs. Gabriel and recall a visit to her home when I served as president of The Virginia Chronicle, a Christian worldview newspaper. My comment is that Words have Meaning, Ideas have Consequences so I would suggest that PC be renamed by Conservatives to Political Corruptness, NOT Correctness. The general public will begin to connect to the real problem with “PC” policy when it is defined as CORRUPT rather than CORRECT. Think on these things, then REFRAME your OWN SPEECH and WORD USE to advance the cause. Thank you.
