Throughout the summer we saw scenes of angry Americans trying to get through to their representatives in Washington. They were taunted, disrespected, laughed at and ignored. Then… the folks in DC and the media wondered why the people were so furious. They just couldn’t understand how any reasonable person could be against the plans of such a messianic leader like Barack Hussein Obama.
There is at least one of our representatives who gets it. A few days ago I had the opportunity to attend a constituent meeting with Congressman Randy Forbes (VA-4). There were no hostile visitors or angry tirades. There was useful conversation between the residents of the district and a man who respects them and does his best to look out for their interests in the nations capitol. This is a concept that so many from both parties have a difficult time comprehending.
The meeting took place in response to a Petition for Redress of Grievances presented by a local citizen group called the Chester Patriots. They are just a group Americans concerned about the direction of their country. What they are doing can be done anywhere… check them out at http://www.wst-chester.com/.
The petition covered eighteen points including the devaluation of American currency, passing laws without due consideration and movement to give constitutional rights to illegal aliens. Similar petitions were presented to the commonwealths two Senators and another well known congressman. You can see the videos of the original presentations on their web site… some of them are kind funny as the people in the local offices are not used to thirty people stopping when they are not looking for a handout. Forbes was the only one who took the constituents seriously enough to respond. One out of four is probably better than the national average, but not good enough. Read more of this article »

September 17, 2009 not only marked the celebrated day of the approval of our Constitution by the Constitutional Congress in 1787 (which had to be ratified by 9 of the 13 STATES–not the majority of the PEOPLE), it also marked another, what I call, LAY case, reflecting the power and control of the federal government over individual, local and state affairs, and the submission of its lowly subjects, We the People.
Some of you may have learned of the principal of Pace High School in Pace, Florida, Frank Lay, who was charged with violation of an order entered by Federal Judge Margaret C. “Casey” Rodgers, prohibiting him, the teachers and the staff of Pace High from praying or holding any religious ceremonies at school or at school functions, which originated out of a lawsuit brought by the ACLU. As you have likely already guessed, sometime after the order entered (and was actually consented to by Lay), Lay had a prayer conducted at a Pace High staff function (a building dedication with no students present). This was deemed a violation of the court’s order and Lay was charged with contempt of court.
Lay had a hearing on the contempt charges on Constitution Day, September 17, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. (CDT). Hundreds of people stood outside the federal courthouse in Pensacola, Florida, showing their support for Lay, their disgust with the federal government, or just their interest to see what would happen. (A few even showed their protest against Lay.) It appeared as though it was a pep rally of sorts with high-school kids chanting, “We Love Jesus, Yes We Do, We Love Jesus, How ‘Bout You!” and other similar chants. Around 11:30 a.m., much of the crowd began marching around the federal courthouse (which sits downtown Pensacola) seven times, to sort of re-enact and metaphorically demonstrate the judgment of God falling on the city of Jericho in the book of Joshua, as if to suggest that they wanted God to condemn Judge Rodgers, or that Judge Rodgers was attacking Lay and she was the sole evil presented in this case, or other similar theories to that effect. The first time I observed Yom Kippur was with my Jewish friends at The Louis De Torres synagogue in Grand Bahama. In partial ignorance, a dear Christian friend and I had even started the “full fast” a day early. Even though I am not a stranger to fasting, I was weak by sunset, perhaps it was the anxiety. Whether you are a Christian or a Jew the concept of the necessity for atonement is one that is riveting to the mind.
This Monday will be the official observance of Yom Kippur, which means Day of Atonement. This is the most solemn of the Jewish holidays. Its central themes are atonement and repentance. This day goes hand in hand with Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) because it is set aside to atone for the sins of the past year.
Jews traditionally observe this holy day with a 25-hour period of fasting and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services. As I learned from observing it, Yom Kippur is a complete, 25-hour fast beginning before sunset on the evening before Yom Kippur (this Sunday evening) and ending after nightfall on the day of Yom Kippur (Monday).
Judaism teaches that Yom Kippur atones only for sins between man and G-d, not for sins against another person. To atone for sins against another person, you must first seek reconciliation with that person, righting the wrongs you committed against them if possible. That must all be done before Yom Kippur. Have a look at this video. Think about it. What are the consequences of getting the swine flu… excuse me, h1n1. For most it is a few days of discomfort… sort of like the regular flu. The doctor said the flu is loosing its virulence – it’s getting weaker. As with much of this administration’s work, it is working hand in hand with the UN’s World Health Organization in creating concern – fear even, then providing a “solution” whether we want one or not.
According to Dr. Holtorf the vaccine presents a greater hazard to most people than the flu itself. While there are other opinions, he seems quite credible. The proposed vaccine has been rushed to market without the normal FDA test procedures. Drug companies have invested heavily following governments (both US and UN) and they must get their money back. If people don’t take the drugs, the drug companies don’t get their money back. Drug companies, not American companies like Merck, but foreign companies like Novartis, stand to make out like bandits if this forced inoculation goes through. This brings up a very important point…
Already the Massachusetts legislature has set in motion a plan authorizing Governor Deval Patrick to declare a state of emergency, and require everyone to submit to vaccination. This is the first and most heavy handed approach to date to letting we the people know we are nothing but twits and need the government to take our hand and to do what our masters have decided is best for us. Before the entire world, at the marginally legitimate United Nations, Barack Hussein Obama officially threw the nation of Israel under the bus when he told the assembled mob of assorted dictators and thugs, with a few of America’s friends thrown in, that our country “does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.” Of course the comment was cheered by the major part of the world that despises the Jewish state… but while he may speak for the government, he does not speak for all of the American people.
What Mr. Obama does not understand about Israel is that their safety is not dependent on US good will or power… and neither is the success of her enemies. Thousands of years ago the restoration of Israel to their homeland was forecast by a power greater than Barack Obama. It was this power that brought the Jewish people home and this power will preserve it there without the help of our aircraft and intelligence.
By taking upon himself to decide the propriety of settlements in another country the President may have put our own country at greater risk than we have ever been in the past. As far back as the book of Genesis the Lord told Abram, later to be called Abraham and become the father of the Jewish nation, that, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.” Everyone has the choice of whether or not to accept this… it is apparent that this president does not.
Is he bringing a curse down upon our country at a time that we can least afford to further offend the Almighty? Perhaps. Perhaps he will bring his curse down upon our nation or perhaps it will fall upon Obama and his parters in crime. We need to consider Abraham’s negotiation with God over the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah. “Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?” he asked. Then he continued, “Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?” Read more of this article »
It’s amazing how much misinformation can be held in one human head. Yesterday Barack Husssein Obama told the assembled United Nations brain trust that the United States was committed to fulfilling our obligation to the world in doing more and more to stop the dread specter of climate change. He said, “We understand the gravity of the climate threat. We are determined to act. And we will meet our responsibility to future generations,” He might have added that “they may be eating gruel, but the climate will not change,” but he didn’t. Had he done so… it would have added a ring of truth to his talk.
It’s ironic that he spoke these words just a week after a man who has actually studied the subject, Professor Mojib Latif of Germany’s Leibniz Institute, addressed the UN’s World Climate Change Conference in Geneva, telling them that things may not be quite as they have been predicting… that the Atlantic, especially the North Atlantic, was running temperatures considerably cooler than anticipated and that we would be entering “one or even two decades during which temperatures cool.”
Professor Latif is not just some schlep off the street. He has won numerous prizes for his work on climate change and has been the lead contributor to the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) last two five year reports that were of the “Omigosh, we’re all gonna get killed” variety. One has to wonder if he will be invited back next time. Read more of this article »
On this 8th anniversary of the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, it behooves me to comment on the spirit of hatred that seems to motivate many people in and out of our great land. That the supporters and disciples of Vladimir Lenin, Karl Marx, Joseph Stalin, Leon Trotsky, Mao Tse-tung, and Adolf Hitler would hate America is understandable. Communism, socialism, and fascism are diametrically opposed to everything the United States was founded upon. Therefore, it is not surprising that people who espouse the tenets of these “isms” would exude hatred for America–at least for the America of our forebears. What is most disconcerting, however, is the number of people within our country (and I don’t mean illegal aliens) who harbor hatred in their hearts for our beloved land.
To be sure, one can count me in with those who hate the manner in which the international banking cartel has wormed its way into the inner workings of our federal government. I hate the condescending, elitist attitudes of many in higher education. I hate the way globalists–such as David Rockefeller and his ilk–have been able to use the federal government to promote and safeguard their own private financial and political agendas. I hate the way secularists in public education and private organizations–such as the ACLU, People For the American Way, the Anti Defamation League, etc.–have been able to strip our culture of its Christian heritage. I hate the way politicians from both parties in Washington, D.C., ignore and trample the U.S. Constitution. I hate the way professing Christians and “conservatives” turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the warmongering, police-state mentality of many within the national Republican Party. I hate the way Nancy Pelosi and her gaggle of liberal Democrats use their power to promote socialism in America. I hate the liberal bias of the mainstream news media. I hate the so-called “political correctness” that permeates the philosophy of virtually every major organization in America these days. I hate the attempts by liberals and “do-gooders” of all stripes to take away my right to keep and bear arms. And, yes, I hate the way America’s foreign policy has been manipulated by foreign lobbyists, socialists within the United Nations, and international business interests.
I guess by now, most everyone has heard the deafening silence of the state media when pro-life demonstrator, Jim Pouillon, was gunned down as he did what he had done hundreds, perhaps thousands of times before. He was known for showing pictures of the results of an abortion. This, we were told, was controversial… it caused people discomfort. Unfortunately, these same people were not put off by the procedure that created dismembered babies itself. Pictures of dead babies seem to upset people more than the fact that someone is actually responsible for their violent and painful deaths.
The same lack of concern for the demise of the innocents was shown to the death of the protester himself. The press and most pundits acted as if the man’s passing was little more than a footnote if they mentioned it at all… and if they did mention it, it was to infer that the man had most likely brought it upon himself. Barack Hussein Obama, who had a firm opinion about Professor Gates, definite thougths about Kanye West and expressed his distress when George Tiller, the man responsible for the destruction of thousands of unborn infants, was shot while ushering in his church had nothing to say, either about the act of violence or as comfort to the victim’s family. Was he unconcerned or should it be construed as implied consent?
The reaction of the state media should not be surprising considering that those inside the media bubble believe Tiller was indeed the hero for helping women rid themselves of their troublesome offspring, and people like Pouillon were gnat-like nuisances in implementing their elitist, narcissistic vision of utopia. Most modern “journalists” fail to see these children as gifts from God, and have no problem with someone zapping them out of earthly existence if they are personally inconvenient.
Spokesmen Catholic and evangelical church groups were quick to honor Jim Pouillon as a martyr for the pro-life cause, yet this were not the the only “religious” view. For instance, the Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita KS, not only failed to take a stand against the the brutality of late term abortions, but actually permitted Dr. Tiller to represent them as an usher the Sunday of his death. James 2:20 tells us that “faith without works is dead”. What this means is that whatever we believe only has meaning if we put action to our beliefs. Years ago I had a preacher tell me that you only act on things you really believe. The point of both was twofold: first, that you only act on what you actually accept as reality, and second, that if you are not acting on some information, you probably don’t really believe it… or at least you don’t take it seriously enough to leave your comfort zone.
Many people reading this believe this country is heading in the wrong direction. Many believe destroying our entire health care system in favor of a government run health care plan because of the approximately fifteen million legitimately uninsured is a foolish move – that there are better ways to handle the situation. Many are concerned about the plethora of czars, advisors and cabinet members that aid the President in pushing our country into the hands of the radical left.
Now comes the hard part. So many people, in their frustration think there’s not much they can do and either sit at home, watching FoxNews as their blood pressure soars or they huddle together with others like themselves, whining and complaining about how bad things are and how much worse they are going to be. Neither choice will help the situation. Neither choice will stop our nation’s downward slide or make a better world for our children.
If the tea parties and the recent gathering in Washington have shown us anything at all, it is that we are not alone. Many of us feel the same concern and see the same problems in our country. There is no reason to stew in our own juices, or gather in impotent pity parties. There are plenty of people to join hands with and help preserve our wonderful country. Read more of this article »
When George W. Bush was President, he greatly advanced the prospect of integrating the United States with a North American Union (NAU). With no thanks to most Christian conservatives or the mainstream news media, hundreds of thousands of patriotic Americans rallied against this proposal and–at least temporarily–seriously stymied Bush’s draconian dream. But if you thought President Barack Obama would be content to let the NAU die a natural death, think again.
Reporting for World Net Daily, author/researcher Jerome Corsi recently reported, “President Obama is continuing President George W. Bush’s effort to advance North American integration with a public-relations makeover calculated to place the program under the radar of public opinion and to deflect concerns about border security and national sovereignty.
“The Obama administration has ‘rebranded’ and ‘refocused’ the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP, to advance the Bush administration’s agenda of North American integration under the rubric of the “North American Leaders Summit,’ a less controversial banner, according to confidential sources in the U.S. Department of Commerce and State Department who agreed to speak with WND only if their comments were kept off the record.”
As further evidence of President Obama’s determination to continue the Bush policy of a commercial union between countries (or “League of Democracies” as John McCain called it), Corsi also reported, “President Obama has actively backtracked on his campaign promises to renegotiate NAFTA to get provisions more favorable to American workers.” Read more of this article »
When Joe Wilson shouted “You lie!” during Barack Hussein Obama’s big speech, he spoke for many people in flyover country who have had their fill of the misinformation and disrespect coming out of the White House. He has since become a folk hero to the millions who are just waiting to see someone in Washington speak for them. It was kind of like the boy who told the assembled crowd that “the emperor has no clothes”. Many know this, but are afraid to speak up about it.
For those who appear to be so concerned about the decorum of their club, it would appear that a president telling congress and the American people things that are provably untrue if one were to read the bill coming out of the House of Representatives is a even greater affront to decorum. Everyone in that room has pledged to work for the good of the citizens of the US. However, in a victory for form over substance, they ignore the misleading words, and criticize the one who has the audacity point them out, and hope they get noticed. It’s almost like the folks from ACORN criticizing methodology of the two budding journalists who figured out how to prove they were corrupt.
Displaying the understanding of the people and political strategy that led to his second place finish in last years presidential election, John McCain, said, “There is no place for it in that setting, or any other…” News reports tell of numerous party insiders aghast at Wilson’s display of honesty. Many would rather have their ruling club undisturbed by such intrusions of support for the opinion of the riff raff back home. This Republican leadership, on one hand, has a difficult time dealing with such principled stands. On the other hand, they understand that they need the votes and support of this “fringe” as they call it. They are looking for the support of this “fringe” yet are giving none in return. Recently, I sent my mom a video link depicting an encounter between a policeman and a protester. My mother’s response was a natural one for a sweet, Christian woman in her seventies. ‘Isn’t this just scary? Where is it going to end?” She’s right, you know. It IS scary. And to those of us who have never witnessed or experienced personally an out-of-order policeman or been face to face with an angry protester, we also wonder, “where or when will it end?”
What is the answer to that question? Perhaps we must define “it” before the question has an answer. When my mother asked the question, I believe she meant that “it” is the fighting, the bickering, and the belligerent exchanges between people of differing views. She also meant the demands placed on ordinary people who must state their views publicly at rallies, tea parties, and protests, behavior that is the antipathy of their normal workaday lives usually filled with work, family, and more “peaceful” activities.
Since the mortgage and banking meltdown last Fall, Americans have been overwhelmed by the activity in Washington, D.C. We witnessed an unpleasant election process, and then a new administration putting forward an expensive agenda. Alarmed by a complex, costly, and wasteful stimulus bill and an omnibus budget bill that also appeared deceptive and wasteful, Americans jammed Congressional phones and flooded legislative email accounts with demands for “No” votes and clearer explanations. Today most of us thinking back to that awful day when our country was brutally attacked by nineteen men blinded by hate fueled by following an evilly false doctrine. We were taken by surprise – how could anyone hate such good people like us? This question brings up two important points. First, that the hatred of the Islamofascists is only logical from within their distorted view of the world. Second, that there actually are many who show disdain for what our great country has traditionally stood for – some living among us… and some in our leadership.
The sad and frightening part about this is that after two world tours apologizing for America’s misdeeds and surrounding himself with people who denounce the idea of American exceptionalism, it’s hard to have confidence in our President’s ability or inclination to protect us from further attacks. This uneasy feeling is enhanced when we see him more open to friendship with our enemies like Hugo Chavez than our traditional friends like Great Britain or Israel.
It is apparent that we shall have to depend on divine protection if we are to survive this peril, as it is clear we cannot look to an incompetent and unconcerned government for our safety. This is the same divine providence that provided the screen of fog that shielded George Washington’s retreating troops from pursuing British regulars at Brooklyn Heights in 1776. This is as it has always been from that time forward, but more so today than ever, which is ironic as our leaders are attempting more and more every day to be the primary source of our salvation. I am amazed at how good ObamaCare sounded as our President gathered the members of the House and Senate to cajole and deceive them into destroying the best health care system in the world. He gave us all sorts of generalities… many of them having no relationship to the house passed bill. This leaves me wondering if we will be seeing a new bill or if the current bill will be modified… or if the Pelosi bill will go through as passed. After all, the Obamessiah wouldn’t tell us these things if he didn’t want us to believe them.
When it comes to believing him, it is obvious not all in the room did. South Carolina’s Joe Wilson had enough and at one point shouted “You lie!”. It was a natural reaction. It was a reaction shared by millions throughout our land. The look on the Speakers face was priceless. In a later interview, John McCain showed he was never presidential material by emphatically criticizing Wilson for the violation of legislative decorum. Apparently McCain doesn’t appreciate the boisterous British House of Commons where they let their feelings be known either.
While respect for the office is fine, this thinking is indicative of the “club” mentality of many beltway insiders, especially those who have been around for some time. This often overrides their sense of right and wrong as well as their duty to the folks back home. Avoiding “bad taste” at the expense of allowing the proposed health plan to pass would be the ultimate in “bad taste”.
The evening started off by talking about the thirty million Americans without health insurance. This is down from the forty seven million last time we heard about their plight. Did seventeen million suddenly buy insurance, die off or sneak back out of the country? Perhaps he was tacitly admitting that they had been using an inflated number all along. Barack Hussein Obama made his American classroom debut, cutting into busy first day schedule of many teachers, missing some who started the next day. The timing did, however, obscure the actions of a California judge who set a hearing date to look into the presidential birth certificate matter. The soaring rhetoric was gone… possibly to stay within the understanding of the younger members of his audience, and it just might be that some of his strongest supporters may have understood him for the first time.
There was the usual collection of cliches intermixed with some personal stories of the sacrifices his mother made for him along the way. He said the right things… or his teleprompter did. The only line that may have been troublesome was when he fell into the community organizer mode and told the young impressionable minds that they should study and work to make the nation more fair and free. This really begs the question of what the speech would have been like absent the public outcry. Some reports thought the speech was inspiring, and it might have been if one was an awestruck fifth grader.
For those of us who have had our fill of the false statements coming out of the presidential mouth it was fairly apparent that he was applying Saul Alinisky’s Rule Number Two about keeping your verbiage within the scope expected by the audience. The President said all the right things and in the process gave his supporters reason to claim the detractors were just paranoid. Read more of this article »
Years ago, a cartoon appeared in a Russian newspaper picturing a fork in the road. One path was labeled freedom; the other path was labeled sausage. As we might guess, the path to freedom had few takers; the path to sausage was crowded with footprints.
