Kim Jong-Il may or may not be psychopathic, but, from what I've read in law reviews and political journals, from the day he was born, Kim was told he was divine, that his father was divine and isn't really dead, and the North Korean people have been indoctrinated with this belief along with him. Believing himself to be God and thus ruler of the world and universe, Kim does not see himself as bound to human treaties or international law, no matter what North Korean negotiators agree to.

So, for the rest of us, we haven't a prayer of dealing with Kim unless we figure out a way to deal with him and North Korea from within their world view, even if it means working to shatter it, so some sense of reality can be perceived within the country. I think the Holy Spirit has brought about the increase in Christian faith in South Korea just for this purpose - when the deception of Kim's false divinity is broken, there are going to be a lot of North Koreans in need of spiritual healing, and, hopefully, the South Korean Christians will be able to help them, which in turn will help the rest of us in the world in dealing with them.

In the meantime, yes, we need to keep praying for God's intervention.
